Secrets shared

When you have an heir to multiple bloodlines it is imperative that the heir learns about the history and knowledge of those bloodlines. In the early days of the Wizengamot a rule was set in place about a rule of Primacy. This stated that the oldest of the bloodlines would be defaulted to in how an heir was raised and educated. Since then the rule has not been invoked often if at all due to the loss of multiple bloodlines since the war of grindelwald.

Hadrian knocked on Orion’s office door then waited to hear the call of enter. Once he entered the office he could see that Orion had put away all of his work and only had one piece of parchment on his desk currently. The cleanliness of the desk made Hadrian worry as he looked at the man who had become for all intents his father.

“Please sit Hadrian, we need to have a very important discussion,” Orion said as he watched Hadrian tentatively take a seat in the open chair.

“Hadrian, you have been with our family for 3 years so far, you have grown into a very diligent young man under both Lucretia’s and my Guidance,” Orion started as he watched the seven year old wizard before him.

“It was good luck on my part being in Diagon Alley the day you came to us, I was able to bring you into a safe home and protect you from everything. I know that we had an inheritance test done on you by the goblins of gringotts but the results were something that I kept to myself up until now,” Orion said as he watched Hadrian and felt the anticipation that Hadrian was holding in his body.

“It was information that at the time I did not think you needed while you were learning how to just be yourself and learn where your place was in House Black. Now that you are 7 years old now, I feel you are old enough to know this information,” Orion stated as he laid a hand on the parchment that laid on his desk.

Hadrian watched Orion as he felt conflicted. Why did he need to know this now and not later on when he was older? Why was his father starting to give him information that would change everything?

“This information, Will it change the fact that I am a son of house black? That I am one of your heirs?” Hadrian asked his mouth going dry slightly as he asked the question.

“No, It will just let you know more about your history, Let you get to know more of your family,” Orion said as he looked at Hadrian who seemed to flood with relief.

“So this will not change my standing in the Ancient and Noble House of Black? If my standing is not changing what will be changing then?” Hadrian asked Orion as he watched the man with intelligent eyes looking to unravel this mystery that Orion had all the answers too.

“It will add more information that you can use to maneuver once I explain everything to you, I know that the annual health exams that you get do have your interest since when you first arrived they were much more often, there were more questions that were asked and concerns that the Healer brought up in those sessions.” Orion started

Hadrian listened attentively, his mind remembering the things that Orion was talking about, He remembered how he used to have almost weekly sessions with Healer Talpin. He remained quiet as he waited for Orion to continue his statement.

“There was more than one reason that we had to have the Healer come over more often, I was worried about what your Accidental magic had done to your magical core and if it was healing properly once you were settled in. Hadrian what your accidental magic did has never been done before that we know about, you with the help of magic and a ley line were able to jump not only to a new physical location but through time where magic deemed that you would be safe,” Orion said as he looked at Hadrian who blinked wide eyed.

“But, Time travel is not possible, not in anything that we have studied is there any reliable way to go back more than 24 hours in time and even then you can only observe and not influence time,” Hadrian said as he thought about the books he had read outside of his studies. He didn’t know what to think as he looked at Orion to explain.

“We are not entirely sure why you were able to jump through time to find a safe place either, that is why we have been looking at how your magical core has been progressing to make sure that you are healthy and safe, we, Healer Talpin and I, believe that you are only going to be here until it is safe for you to return to your time or until you have learned everything you need to learn,” Orion stated as he watched Hadrian process what he had just said.

Stunned Hadrian looked at Orion then asked “You think my time here is limited?” he bit his lip as he thought about that. “Will you all remember me or will I lose my family when I have to go back to my time?” he asked worriedly.

“Magic had a reason for bringing you to us, I doubt it was for you to be forgotten so, You should not lose your family when you return to the future, it just might be a little scattered until you return,” Orion said before continuing “ It might also not have as many members as you remember when you return, just promise me if you arrive anywhere you don’t know you will do your best to get to Gringotts and seek out our Account Manager to see if we left any instructions, or at the very least call Kreature to you to see what he has to say to you about the family, It will also alert us to your return at that time,” Orion finished as he looked at Hadrian who seemed a little more relaxed.

“Alright I’ll do my best to remember to go to Gringotts if I ever arrive somewhere I don’t remember being a moment before,” Hadrian said.

“Good now the other part of what I wanted to talk to you about was your other bloodlines, I would love to be able to be open about all your bloodlines but it is not safe for that to happen, So I have arranged for this friday to have you meet with your other grandparents so that you can learn about the bloodline you were born into, I have a feeling that you growing up with our family is due to our prestige and political power would better prepare you for the future, that is why I believe I was the one to find you that day in Diagon Alley,” Orion said trying to cut off worry that his born family would not want him. It was true that the Potters were well known and respected but they did not have the power or lineage that the Black family had in terms of power.

Orion took the piece of parchment and allowed Hadrian to read it. He watched as the young boy read over his bloodlines as well as when he was born.

“So do you believe I will return to my proper time? Or do you believe that I will remain here?,” Hadrian asked as he looked up at Orion.

“I believe that Magic has a plan for you and we are not privy to those plans right now. Right now you will need time to learn from both Lord Potter and Myself to be prepared for the mantles you will have to carry. You are a very special boy and I hope I am there in the future to see you grow into a powerful young man,” Orion said knowing the whispers of discord were beginning already.

“I see, so when do you think I might be forced to leave you all?” Hadrian asked as he watched Orion.

“Hadrian, I can only make a best guess, and even then I could be wrong, so don’t put much into the idea that I have for when you might be returned to your time, If you are not going to let it rest without a number I would guess, your eleventh birthday would be the next best chance that you might be returned to your time, and like I said I hope that in the future I am there to see you grow into a strong young man,” Orion stated then waited to see if Hadrian had anything else to ask.

“So when would we be making the trip to see Lord Potter?” Hadrian asked curious to know more about his family even if he was not properly born yet.

“I believe Friday would be a good time to visit Lord Potter while Heir Potter is here spending time with Sirius, I have already stated that Heir Potter is more than welcome to stay the weekend if you wish to spend the weekend with your grandparents learning about your family history,” He said then added “I also have Cassiopeia covering for you being away this weekend, She will state she collected you while at Castle Black and that she would return you Monday morning for breakfast, and you will floo home at that time,” Orion said as he let Hadrian think about that.

“I think I would like that, I would get the chance to really get to know Lord and Lady Potter, and my place as future Heir of their line,” Hadrian said smiling softly.

Orion nodded then took the parchment back from Hadrian. “Good be ready for an early day on Friday, Kreature already knows to have a light breakfast for us when we get up that day, Sirius and Regulus will be watched over by Lucretia and have Heir Potter to entertain so it will be a busy day for everyone.” Orion said as he filed the parchment away.

Hadrian nodded then stood up. “I will see you Friday Morning,” he stated then bowed before leaving the room with a lot on his mind.
