"Mc" a voice called sternly
Mc was pulled out their moment of absently staring into space only to be met with a pissed Snape and other pairs of eyes staring at them
"Professor" they greet him, he'd definitely caught them off guard, it was written on their face
"Since you love to daydream in my classes, why don't you answer this question?, What is one of the ingredients used in the forgetful potion?"
"Lethe River" they respond, even though they spaced out it didn't mean they weren't listening, in fact potions was one of their favorite classes
Snape just looked at them before continuing his lesson

After classes, Mc went up to the astronomy tower. It was their favorite place to just disappear or relax, it was a place to think
"MC" a voice snapped, it was Rowan's
Mc was sitting on the ledge of the astronomy tower balcony, they turn to Rowan
"Hey" mc waved back, with a calming espression, " I thought you stopped talking to me"
"I.." Rowan was unable to retort their response
There was an uncomfortable silence
" What exactly do you need? " Mc asked, cutting to the chase with no emotion spotted in their usual curious voice
"First, I need you to get down from there" Rowan ordered
"Wait, don't tell me you still care for me?" Mc asked, genuinely surprised, " what happened to 'your a selfish bloody jerk, who only cares about themselves' huh?" They had come down from the ledge
Rowan was taken aback by their own words, they didn't mean to go that far, they were just having a terrible day. They had no intention of taking it out on their best friend
"Mc..I didn't actually-" Rowan thought of another way to phrase their words, " I was just..just have a bad today and I know I lashed out on you, I know it was uncalled for but- if you give me another chance, i-i'll do better" Rowan wasn't a particular person to get scared easily but by no chance did they want to lose Mc
Mc looked at their fallen friend, they'd never seen Rowan so defeated and felt so ashamed of themselves, had they really got angry at their friend over something so small? Had they overreacted?
Mc thought for a moment before sparing Rowan a glance
"I'm sorry" mc started "I should of asked what was wrong before jumping to conclusions"
Rowan looked baffled, why was mc apologizing? It had been their fault not mc's
"Can we be friends again?" mc asked
"Sure" Rowan accepted "can I hug you?"
"..sure"
Then they did, they hugged, their trust and understanding..evolved
