When your best friend tells you that you are a dick

Sirius met up with Remus, who immediately scolded him for having it out with Severus. He already had gotten an earful from Minerva, who was reminding him he was setting a very bad example for Regina, by fighting like some hooligan. He felt the disappointment from his friend. ‘Ah, come on Remus, it Snivellus, don’t tell me…’

Remus cut him off before he could finish and gave a low growl, causing Sirius to look up in surprise. ‘Listen, Siri…you don’t have to like the man, but what we did, back in our schooldays, that was wrong. You, James, Peter and me, we were bullies. Especially to him. That nickname..’ Remus scoffed. ‘It’s…immature. You would think that after all this time, you would behave differently. Don’t you know that he brews me the potions I need? That he went out of his way to make changes to this school? That he is, in fact, a decent man?’

Sirius opened his mouth to argue back, but seeing to look Remus gave him made him pause. Damn it. He threw his hands in the air and dropped down in a chair. ‘Fine, fine, I will behave.’

‘You will apologize, and you will mean it.’ Sirius swallowed. He looked at Remus, tilted his head, and nodded. ‘I will, I promise.’

Matthew was flying around the castle, looking for a way in, when he saw the doors to the main hall. The doors were open, so he went inside and landed on the stone floor. Looking around him, he saw portraits that moved, some harnesses and a lot of stairs. To his right were two large doors, that lead into a massive hall, that was filled with young people.

Matthew hopped a little closer and carefully looked around. No one seemed to see him, so he turned and decided to fly further into the castle. It had been less than 10 minutes since he'd seen Reggie, but he still had time to look further. He flapped his wings and took off. Something translucent approached him. It seemed to float and Matthew felt as if a bucket of ice water was pouring over him as the clear thing seemed to pass through him. He made a somersault in the air in fright and he squeaked.

Dream noticed that Matthew was startled by something and looked through his eyes. He smiled. ‘Nothing to worry about, it was merely a ghost.’

‘Nothing to worry about, he says,’ muttered Matthew, who had sat down on a flight of stairs in shock. He was still panting after the event when the stairs suddenly moved sideways and he jumped up in fright. ‘That’s it, I’m done. I'm going back outside, to find Reggie.’

‘You left her alone?’ Dream inquired. That was not the deal. ‘She will be fine. You’ve let her get to Sirius alone to right?’

‘After she had been there with you. She has only been to Hogwarts once, and the forest there is not safe. I am not happy with this, Matthew!’ Dream spoke in anger, before breaking the connection and turning his attention toward his little raven.

Severus was back inside the castle and walked over to the dungeons. Reggie remained perched on his shoulder and she was asking him all kinds of questions about the castle, the portraits, the armor, and about him. Normally Severus despised it when he was bombarded with questions, but he found himself answering the little bird, without the usual annoyance. They arrived at his rooms and he placed his hands on the stone, to gain entry.

‘Wow, that was really cool sir!’

‘Thank you for that assessment, little raven.’ He chuckled softly.

Reggie looked around. She saw a spacious living room, with a brown leather sofa, which looked a little worn, but very comfortable. There were two chairs and a low table between the sofa and the chairs. Ahead was a dining table with four chairs and she saw several doors. The atmosphere was calm and Reggie felt comfortable. She flew off Severus' shoulder and hopped onto the table.

In her excitement, she didn't realize that Dream was looking through her eyes and that he was seeing where she was. When he appeared in the room without any announcement, she wasn't the only one who was startled. Severus raised his wand and was about to cast a spell, but Dream gestured with his hand and the wand fell to the floor, leaving Severus gobsmacked.

Dream knew not to get angry with Reggie, because he didn't want Reggie to be afraid of him. And, in fact, she hadn't done anything wrong, but he couldn't help it, he was angry. She should have stayed with Matthew. Anything could have happened. The look in his eyes betrayed his emotions, and Reggie flinched as his gaze landed on her.

‘You!’ Severus exclaimed when he recognized the man from earlier.

Dream looked over at the wizard. ‘Me.’
