Summary
Even as early as four, Orion knew Walburga is the only one for him. And like his Mother, Orion would never settle for less.

A beginning

Orion Black's life was already formed even before he was born.

He was Heir to The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black as his Father's only son. He will marry a respectable witch and breed respectable scions for his family.

His parents, particularly his Mother, had already planned Lucretia and Orion's lives would be as long as he remembered.

Knowing his Mother, Orion knew the lady she handpicked herself would be one of the best witches everyone could find. Melania Black would never settle for less.

As far as toddlers were concerned, Orion had a good life. He lived with his sister and parents in the vast land of Black House Manor in Roseberry Topping.

Then, on Orion's fourth birthday, he saw Walburga.

According to his Father, Walburga was an unexpected child; that's why her name didn't come after a star. A seer told Uncle Pollux and Aunt Irma that their firstborn would be a bright star illuminating 12 Grimmauld Place.

Walburga was to be named Cepheus Black. But she has to be satisfied with Walburga Cassiopeia Black.

Though Lucretia has the same fate as Walburga. She was told to be a prince that would bring honour to his House! but the prince turns out to be a little lady. She was named Lucretia Vega Black.

They were the only daughters apparent of House Black of Orion's generation but had to be satisfied with names like that.

But maybe that was why Lucretia and Walburga were close; sometimes people would mistake them for twins, even though Walburga had hair that was dark as night, and Lucretia was colour a warm brown.

Walburga was a perfect lady of Black House ought to be. Dark hair and silvery eyes, with high cheekbones and a presence that commanded respect, Orion might be in love with her since that day.

But Walburga now would only treat him like a child; Orion knew she would. Orion was just four now, and Walburga will turn nine in a few months.

And two years after that, Walburga would turn eleven and get her letter. She would be in her fourth year before Orion could come to Hogwarts.

That was why Orion announced that he would marry Walburga once he graduated.

"What makes you say something like that, little star?" His Mother chided gently.

With pride, Orion replied, "Because Walburga is the prettiest witch I have ever seen. I will grow to be a handsome wizard and marry her."

Walburga laughed, like everyone at the table. Orion loved her laugh; it was melodious and filled his chest with happiness.

To be fair, the only witches he saw only his Mother and sister, his Aunt and sometimes her Mother's relatives. But Orion's point stood as far as he was concerned.

"Then you should grow to be a handsome wizard first," Aunt Irma said jokingly.

Orion nodded and swore to be a tall and handsome wizard. To be perfect for Walburga, he would do anything.

But unbeknownst to Orion, the only ones who didn't laugh were his Father and Uncle Pollux. They had grave expressions and looked at each other.

They hoped that no storm would come to House Black.
