She planted all the good things, That gave my life its start.

Draco watched as little Scorpius ran about the garden outside of the Malfoy Manor. He sat coyly on a blanket with a picnic basket full of Scorpius's snacks and next to the basket sat a baby monitor, reused from when Scorpius was still a baby, now used to check on Astoria. He giggled and laughed as he chased butterflies in the spring. Suddenly, Scorpius stopped and stared at something behind his father.

"MUMMY!" He shouted running towards her. Draco turned around quickly. He was completely unaware that his love had come outside. He got up quickly and scooper up her mom to support her as Scorpius ran into her legs to hug her. She laughed reaching down to touch her son. He looked up at her with his beautiful brown eyes and smiled and grabbed her hand.
"Mummy came to our picnic!" Scorpius yelled excitedly as she took her hand and led her to the blanket.
"Be careful, Scorpius." Draco commended.
"Draco, it's okay, I'm fine!" Astoria told him gently. He sighed and followed their son to the blanket. Scorpius sat down on the blanket and held out an empty bowl towards his mum. He then grabbed a bucket and ran off.
"What's this?" Astoria asked Draco.
"He's going to make you a dirt pie."
"He's tearing up for petunias, Draco."
"It's decoration." He smiled looking at his son working tirelessly as he worked at the petals. Astoria looked between them. She knew how much Draco loved his flowers and his prized garden and she knew if he were to find some raccoon in his flower garden he'd be furious. Then, Scorpius came running back with the bucket and a handful of petals. He took the bowl off of his mum's lap and began assembling her dirt pie.
"Scorpius, where did you get the petals?"
"The pretty flowers!
"Did you know those are Daddy's pretty flowers?"
"Daddy made these?" Scorpius's eyes shined with curiosity, abandoning his dirt creation.
"He did! He worked really hard to plant them and take care of them and Daddy loves his flowers, just as much as he loves you and me! So we want to make sure we take care of the pretty flowers, right?" She said softly as Scorpius climbed onto her lap.
"Do you want to apologize to Daddy?" She looked down as Scorpius nodded, then turned to his father.
"I'm sorry Daddy for hurting the flowers. I really like them!" He said kindly. His eyes sparkled with tears.

Astoria and Draco had worked perfectly together as parents. They would both anything and everything for his son. Draco wanted be able to give Scorpius all the love and the world and he could never seem to tell off the young child, he never wanted to traumatize Scorpius the way he had been growing up. Astoria was the most gentle parent in the world. Draco was constantly in awe of her ability to gently discipline Scorpius. Draco learned everything he knew about being a parenting from her. Everything Scorpius had become was because of his mother, Draco believed.
