These Hands of Mine
Summary
Inspired by the movie, While You Were Sleeping.xxxxHermione Granger was absolutely and utterly head over heels for a man she had never even met. Perhaps it was foolish, to love a man she hadn’t even spoken to, but he was perfect. After an incident of happenstance and a slight miscommunication, she finds herself faced with the opportunity of a lifetime. For the first time, everything she had ever dreamed of is in her grasp. Hermione would have been a fool to do anything but accept it. And accept it she does. Now Hermione is a daughter, a sister, and a friend. Now she has the man of her dreams, the handsome stranger. Life couldn’t possibly get any sweeter. However, as time wears on, Hermione comes to the realization that the man who now holds her heart is not the same as the man she originally fell for. Suddenly, that golden life of hers that seemed so attainable was slipping through her fingers like grains of sand. Hermione is forced to make a decision, to play it safe or gamble with everything she’s ever wanted and risk coming away with nothing. And gamble she does.

Coming soon...

You’re his fiancé?”

Hermione nodded, rubbing her arms self-consciously as the scrutiny of the entire family settled on her. Her gaze dropped to the floor meekly as she gathered the courage to speak the words on the tip of her tongue into existence.

The man chuckled sardonically. “I don’t believe it. I know what type of birds my brother usually goes for, and well, you’re not it.”

The handsome stranger’s mother gasped before slapping her other son upside the head. “Charlie!” She admonished. “How dare you be rude to the poor thing at a time like this. I’m sure she’s a lovely young woman. Obviously Ronald saw something in her, otherwise he would have never proposed.” The older woman sent Hermione an encouraging smile, looking positively gleeful at the prospect of a daughter-in-law.

Hermione smiled weakly, face flushed red in embarrassment. She couldn’t help but feel slightly hurt at the handsome stranger—or rather Ronald’s older brother’s observation. Was she really that plain and unloveable that even a complete stranger who had only been here for five seconds would think so?
