Up in the sky

Two days later Hermione was knackered having spent the whole previous day shopping in muggle London with Mr Weasley. She was getting things for their new house and he was getting a muggle education in return for his company and chaperone services.  She didn't mind but she did think it odd but endearing when he got excited about small things like a kettle.

They had spent the morning getting bed sheets and curtains.  After a lunch in a cafe which pleased Arthur to no end,  they spent the afternoon getting furniture for the mansion. It took longer than Hermione had thought. She had wanted at least one of her future husbands with her but all had been busy and left the choices up to her. Luckily Mr  Weasley knew what his sons would like and was a great help. He managed to shrink all the items and store them for easy carrying.

The evening had been spent having a take out and putting the furniture into the house. Charlie and Bill had come along to help. They soon had everything in rooms and all set up for moving in. They had even painted and wallpapered all the rooms with the help of magic of course.

It was beginning to look like home and Hermione was happy.

That day she had spent taking all her books over and putting them in her library. Her men all had books too and they asked her to fit them in too.  She knew they didn't care where they went but she had great fun sorting them.

Now she was back at the burrow getting ready for a date with Charlie.  This was the date she was most nervous about. She knew it would go great, they got on well.  She was already having feelings for him. This was the one she didn't want to screw up.

He had told her to wrap up in sporty but warm clothes. No idea what she was doing she got ready quickly and went downstairs.

He was waiting for her, whilst reading Eragon. She knew that he loved anything about dragons even if it was made up, she had introduced him to several fantasy books the previous Christmas.

He hadn't immediately noticed her, so she took the time to focus on him. He was gorgeous that was obvious but he also had laughter lines which she adored. His skin was tanned unlike the rest of the clan. His hair was down to his chin and curly.

Soon he felt her staring and looked up,with a beaming smile.

"Ready to go?" He asked putting down the book.

She nodded unable keep her nerves at bay.

He took her hand then led her outside and apparated.

When they reappeared, they were in the countryside, she could see a plane in the distance and they started heading for it.

He held her hand the whole way. When they arrived and she saw what their activity was going to be, she sucked in a breath.

"We're going sky diving?" She shrieked.

"Yes,is that okay? It's magical sky diving   its very safe but with the same rush." Charlie laughed.

"Yes, I've never done it before, have you?" Hermione admitted.

"Yes, many times, so much so that I recently did a training course so we can do a tandem one together." He grinned.

They had an hour of safety regulations,  with Hermione asking lots of questions,  which made Charlie fall a little deeper.

By late afternoon they were ready to go. They got all their gear on, stepped in the plane and Hermione and Charlie were attached to each other. He wrapped his arms around her to keep her calm.

Soon they were up in air. Charlie could hear her fast breathing. But she was also giggling with glee. Everytime he asked if she was okay she confirmed she was.

Soon the light was on to show they were okay to jump. He shuffled them forward to the door of the plane.

"Ready?" He yelled.

"Yes" She yelled back.

They stepped forward and jumped out the plane. Hermione screamed and Charlie laughed with glee.

Hermione took it all in. Tried to focus on her surroundings and how amazing it felt. It was scary especially since she had no control but she felt safe with Charlie.

When they landed and taken their gear off she surged forward and gave Charlie a quick kiss on the lips. It took him by surprise.

"That was the best thing I have ever done!!" She screamed.

"It's exhilarating isn't it?" Charlie laughed.

"Yes! So much fun. Thank you so much for setting this up." She said as she stepped forward to hug him.

Wrapping his arms around her he smiled to himself. All he wanted was her to be happy and he seemed to be succeeding.

"There's still more of the date left if your ready." Charlie asked.

She nodded, unravelling herself from him.

Quickly he took out a small bag that had been tied to his belt loops. Opened it and reached deep inside and started pulling out things far too big to fit in there.

"I learned this from the smartest and most beautiful witch I know." Charlie stated with a laugh.

Soon there was a full picnic laid out before them. Full of lots of hot and cold treats, including strawberry tarts, fried chicken and waffles, scallops in garlic butter and Hermione's favourite, sticky toffee pudding.

"I know there's a lot here, it's all under stasis charm so don't worry it won't get wasted it'll be part of a feast for dinner for everyone else. I just wanted you to have a nice selection." Charlie explained.

"It all looks wonderful. Fancy a glass of bubbly?" She asked as she uncorked the bottle and poured herself a glass. Charlie nodded.

They ate, drank and chatted for what felt like hours. Charlie put everything away except the blanket and lay down. Hermione laid beside him. The turned so they were facing each other.

"I've had a wonderful time. Thank you!" Hermione beamed.

She looked him deep in the eyes as she slowly leaned in. Their lips touched gently, both being careful not to put the other off. Soon the kiss deepened and they had their arms wrapped around each each. Charlie was being very careful not to act on his desires fully. He wanted to roll them over so she was straddling him, he knew it was too fast for her.

After about 15 minutes they pulled apart,  still holding onto each other.

"That was .... that was... I'm lost for words by how nice that was Hermione." Charlie smiled.

Hermione giggled.

"It was very nice, it was lovely not to felt pressured or any expectations." She stated.

"Men in the past have made you feel pressured? If any of my brothers do that, you tell me. They won't be doing it again."

"Yes a little,  more I think I pressured myself because I should have wanted it, especially with this law."

"So it was one of my brothers. Listen Hermione,  this is hard on all of us but most of all you, if you don't want to kiss or anything else, it doesn't happen okay. No matter if its happened with that person before or not." Charlie asserted.

"I know but I do need to kiss you all and more eventually.  I'm feeling the time pressure."

Charlie looked sad at this admission.

"No Charlie! That's not why I kissed you. I kissed you because I felt no pressure with you. You make me feel safe and happy!" She declared.

"Well that's good! But still there's a few weeks before the wedding yet, don't stress too much and just get to know us. Ready to head back?" Charlie asked standing up.

She nodded and took his hand as they apparated away. They made a stop near the air field to drop of the gear and then back to the burrow.

That night Hermione went to bed feeling very happy for the first time in a long time.
