SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!
Now, don't take it wrong, Percy 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 Hogwarts. It was an amazing place, it was his home.
Sometimes, sitting by the lake with his – pureblood – best friend Grover and his – halfblood – best friend Annabeth was everything he needed after an exhausting day.
But, at the same time, he missed the muggle world 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩.
Nothing could compare to the feeling of getting takeout food in the evening and sitting on the couch with his mom, watching movies as they ate.
Or to the one to hang out with your friends in a shopping mall, just fooling around with no specific thing in mind.
His friends didn't really get it.
Grover, as a pureblood, just couldn't understand the joys of his world, even though he lived among muggles for a while.
And Annabeth, god bless her soul, even being a halfblood, was raised by magical parents. Her knowledge of the muggle world was deplorable at last, and it broke Percy's heart to see it.
𝘌𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥, he told his mind, while waiting for Hagrid to get there.
𝘉𝘶𝘵, 𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘉𝘰𝘣! His mind whined back at him.
Percy scowled, annoyed. This was no time to be mulling around his childhood, not during Care of Magical Creatures.
"Everything okay, Percy?" Annabeth asked, her blue tie between his and Grover's yellow ones screaming at everyone else to 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘢𝘵 𝘶𝘴!
"Peachy." Percy answered. "I'm just thinking."
She looked at him for another second before shrugging and turning around.
"Oh, Hagrid's here!" Grover cheered.
The entire class was crowded together, all close to each other because of the cold that was starting to plague the mornings. Hagrid walked towards them, stopping in front of the small crowd.
"Good mornin', class!" He exclaimed.
"Good morning, Professor Hagrid." The whole class chanted.
"Today, we'll need ter enter the fores' instead o' standin' on the edge, so wrap up yer capes!"
Percy unconsciously pulled his cape towards himself, and he was sure he was a couple more doing the same.
"Alright, then! Are yeh ready, kids?"
"Aye aye, captain." Percy muttered to himself unconsciously.
It came out louder than he meant to.
He heard a few amused snorts around him, scattered here and there among the crowd, and he felt his friends glance at him, confused.
"What? Sorry kid, I can't hear you!" Hagrid said, looking at Percy.
This time, it wasn't a slip of the tongue, nor was it accidental.
Percy grinned. A good chunk of the class stared right at their professor.
"Aye aye, captain!" They all exclaimed, not exactly simultaneously, but close enough.
The rest of the class all looked extremely confused, Hagrid included.
Grover and Annabeth, each on one of Percy's side, looked at him with wide, confused eyes.
Percy looked around and met the eyes of some of his other friends, before tipping his head back and howling with laughter.
And everyone else did as well.
It took ten minutes to stop their uncontrollable laughter.
"I don' see the funny."
"I'm sorry, professor." Percy said, not sounding even the slightest bit sorry.
Hagrid nodded. "Alright, then."
Percy was not able to concentrate on the class after that. That was bad.
Annabeth preferred listening to writing, and he couldn't read Grover's notes even if his life depended on it.
But he couldn't bring himself to even think about forgetting how 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦 he felt to his childhood that day.
