Why can people just leave me alone
Draco’s POV:
I get startled awake by a loud booming voice.
“Ten Minutes! Ten minutes until we are at hogwarts!” The voice informed us.
I groaned as I slowly woke up. I lift my hand to rub my eye as I let out a small yawn. Once I’m somewhat awake I stretch and start getting up to grab my school uniform. Right now I'm wearing a horribly uncomfortable suit with some magically hidden gloves. Uncle Sev got them for me so when I have them on (which is 99.99% of the time) they become invisible. Once I’m up I grab my trunk from overhead and open it. After I have opened it and grabbed my uniform I close it and start heading to the door of the compartment. When I’m just about to grab the door it get thrown open and I’m face to face with the one and only Harry Potter (Well it's more like face to neck. When did potter get so tall?)
“Malfoy,” Potter said as he glared at me.
“Potter,” I replied, “I would really appreciate it if you could move out of my way. I would like to change into my uniform.”
“Really? I don’t trust-” Potter started before I cut him off.
“Potter please just move. I'm not looking for any trouble, I just want to get changed before we get to hogwarts.” I said.
‘I just wanted to get changed. What is so wrong about that?’ I thought to myself.
“Harry, mate, just let him go” I heard Weasley say from behind Potter. “It seems like he genuinely wants to just go get changed.”
Potter glared at me one more time before moving from the door. I quickly walked out of the compartment keeping my eyes on the ground. I kept walking until I made it to the bathrooms. Once I’m inside the bathroom I let out a breath that I didn’t know I was holding. I take a few deep breaths and then I start changing, being mindful of my gloves. After I get my uniform on I prepare myself to go back to the compartment. Once I’m prepared I walk out and start heading back to the compartment. When I get to the door I knock to let the trio inside know I’m going in and then I open the door. As I entered it was completely silent. I did not look at any of them, I just went to the corner I was sitting in before, sat down, and started staring out the window. I watched as blurbs of colors went by. I could hear the trio next to me whispering next to me but I just kept ignoring
them.
A few minutes later, I started seeing the station as the train came to a stop. I waited until the trio grabbed their stuff and left before I got us and grabbed my stuff. I left the compartment and made my way to the nearest exit. I needed to keep my guard up so that I could find my friends (and also to make sure I don’t get harassed). I looked around until I finally spotted my friend group of three. My friends group consisted of Pansy Parkinson, Blaise Zabini, and Theodore Nott. We have been friends ever since we were young and we have stuck together ever since. As I started speed walking towards them I heard someone behind me.
“Well Well look who we have here” I heard someone say “Draco Malfoy. Why were you even allowed back into this school? You are a death eater, you don’t deserve to be here.”
I kept walking, not wanting to start a scene.
‘I just wanna see my friends. Why do people keep bothering me?’ I thought to myself, praying to Merlin that whoever this was leaves me alone.
“What’s wrong Malfoy? Are you scared? Where is your daddy to defend you now? Oh right! He is in Azkaban.” Continued the person behind me taunting me. I could tell that he was starting a scene and that was probably what he wanted. So I just continued on and gave him no reaction.
The more he kept taunting the harder it was to control myself. I could feel my hands starting to twitch. ‘Nonononono, not now. Please not now’ I begged.
“Hey dray, you ok?” I heard a voice say.
I snapped out of my trace and realized that I was finally next to my friends. “Yeah I'm fine just people being annoying.” I replied letting out a small breath in relief as I felt my hands slowly stop twitching.
“It’s gonna be ok just ignore them ok?” reassured me Pansy.
“Yeah I know.” I replied giving her a small smile “Now let's go get into the carriages before we are late.”
