Chapter 4
Author's notes: Mostly written at 4am today.
Review?
Yes, I decided to do a prophecy bit..... hopefully vaguely original.
Harry was awoken a few hours later by a sound at his door, looking, he saw Hermione at the doorway, something in her hand, she had obviously not noticed that it was him and not his sister, she was coming closer and Harry had a fairly good idea what was in her hand, slowly grabbing his wand from the bedside table and then lay in wait to see whether she would do what he thought she would, eventually he felt her softly place something in his hand and mutter the word 'Activate' and then felt him, his duvet and luckily his wand be transported with nothing more than a flash of light and a hook behind his navel and then he was somewhere else, he thought it was the burrow but he wasn't sure having never been and only had it described to him, moving his head out from under the duvet he saw Dumbledore, several Weasleys, Fleur and Hagrid all looking at him, shock on all of their faces when they saw him.
"You're not your sister!" Ron snarled at him.
"Very observant Weasley." Harry replied coolly "Now is there any reason I'm here..... or rather that you wanted Aimee here?"
"Harry, don't you see she'd be safest with us?" Dumbledore replied gently "And it's for your safety that we want you to keep away from her, for a while at least, Voldemort may try to use you to get to her."
"It's for her safety that you put her closer to this.... sexual deviant?" Harry asked incredulously pointing at Ron "When I said I wanted you out of my house I didn't also say, 'oh and kidnap my sister while you're at it would you?' did I?" He continued furiously "Now, Dumbledore, I know sometimes forgiveness can be in my and my sister's best interests, so I will forget about this little kidnapping business if you are willing to do something for me."
Dumbledore looked like Christmas had come early and Harry decided that he should burst the little bubble forming in the headmaster's mind "No, no Professor, I will be telling her about this, I will be telling her that everyone minus Hagrid in this room is untrustworthy, and if she does go missing I will pull down your homes one at a time until I find her, honestly you lot are more dangerous than Voldemort, he is at least honest about wanting the worst for her."
"Why minus Hagrid?" Mrs Weasley asked looking confused.
"Because you are all capable of bullying, intimidating and maybe even attacking someone you're close to, Hagrid isn't like that." Harry replied simply "Oh and one other thing, Bill, Fleur, could I see the two of you tomorrow in Grimmauld Square?"
At the last part everyone looked shocked before Ron broke the silence.
"You say you don't trust them but you want them there tomorrow? How thick are you?" he sneered.
"We have some business that it is in all of our interests to deal with quickly." Harry replied unhelpfully.
This caused everyone to look confused, no one more so than Bill and Fleur themselves.
"Umm.... Okay Harry, whatever you want." Bill replied.
"Good, I hope you don't mind if I go now?" Harry said before calling Kreacher who for once didn't look like he had a piece of shit under his nose when he looked at Harry, the others however were a different story.
"Kreacher, take me home." Harry said before the elf grabbed hold of him and disappeared taking both himself and Harry.
They reappeared in the kitchen where to Harry's surprise an unconscious Hermione was tied to one of the chairs, behind which were Aimee, Lily, Vector, Lupin and an obviously happy Snape who had a clear potion in his hand, it didn't take a genius to figure out what it was.
"Mum, perhaps you should make sure you're out of view." Aimee suggested "We do need to start interrogating her soon and she might think she's lost it if she see's you."
Lily looked about to disagree but when Snape, Harry and Lupin all gave her looks that clearly said 'daughter knows best' she nodded in defeat and went to the corner of the room.
Harry, suddenly struck with inspiration indicated for Lupin to come closer and whispered something in his ear before Lupin smiled a very un-himlike smile and disappeared with a crack.
The crack awakened Hermione and she tried to put her hand to her head before realizing it was tied to a chair, it was then that panic began to visibly take over, she let out something between a moan of despair and a scream of fear, coming out more like a terrified squeak before regaining some small amount of composure and saying softly "What's going on?"
Harry then took the lead, deciding to see how much he could mess with her head.
"You, are responsible for the deaths of Fred Weasley, Aimee Potter, Remus Lupin, 23 Aurors as well as a good portion of the Order of the Phoenix." He replied somberly.
She let out an agonized sob before breaking down in tears, eventually after several minutes asking in a quiet voice "How..... am I... re... re... responsible?"
"You kidnapped Aimee." Harry replied coldly "And when myself and several of her friends went to find her a fight occurred, in which she was caught in the crossfire while several others died."
She broke down again oblivious to a near silent crack in the other room.
This crack indicated the return of Remus with both of Hermione's parents, Remus knew what Harry was doing and considered it horrible but necessary, they had to make Hermione tell them what she knew and if they had to emotionally blackmail her then so be it.
"I have to tell you something." Remus said to both of Hermione's parents after putting up a privacy ward "And this isn't the best of things to have to tell a parent....." He said getting no further, being interrupted by a wailing Mrs Granger.
"She's dead isn't she?!" She began sobbing into her husbands shoulder who looked worried.
"No." Remus began gently "I don't know how much she's told you about events in the wizarding world but there is a war going on in our world, Hermione's former friend Aimee and her brother are stuck in the middle of it and are now starting to represent a group independent of and opposed to both of the other two sides and their methods. Hermione has gone up against her first friend in the wizarding world and earlier tonight attempted to kidnap Aimee for the so called side of light, instead getting Harry who had anticipated such an attempt."
Lupin watched their faces switch between shock, horror and finally a deep disappointment in their daughter.
"We're interrogating her, you can speak to her after then." Lupin said before seeing the look on their faces and rushing to reassure them "Nothing painful, just pointing out that this is.... or now was it seems... her friend that she betrayed. After that Harry and a few of her teachers and one or two of the others have made it clear that they want nothing more to do with her."
Mr and Mrs Granger gasped when they heard the last part, finally Mr Granger asked in quiet voice "Her own teachers don't want anything to do with her?"
"No, I'm afraid not, as well as that several of the friends she shared with Aimee or Harry will have to pick a side unless she can find some way of making them forgive her."
Back in the Kitchen:
"Lucky for you I was lying, everyone is ok..... if you don't count Aimee feeling like shit, after this evening she gets to decide what happens to you but I just want to put my vote in for killing her and leaving her outside Hogwarts, either way, I don't want that scum near me." Harry said to his sister without any warmth towards his former friend.
Hermione flinched at this before beginning to try and explain to Aimee.
"Professor Dumbledore came in.... and... and said he needed someone to make sure you were safe.... and he.... he said Harry was getting paranoid and he was worried Harry wo.... would kick everyone out.... and that he needed you safe." She said between sobs "I... I wasn't trying to upset anyone, I just wanted you to be safe."
Aimee looked torn between being furious she could call Harry her friend and still call him paranoid and possibly dangerous and wanting to hug the girl.
"She's been manipulated as much by Dumbledore as we have." Aimee pointed out to Harry, her argument falling on deaf ears.
"If you say so." He snorted.
"Can she stay here for a little while.... at least until we decide what to do with her?" Aimee asked her brother.
"Fine." Harry said, obviously still not happy about it "You'll understand if I sleep somewhere else? God knows where I'll end up if we leave it up to that traitor."
With that he walked out of the room, after giving Hermione a look that showed only pure hatred.
After leaving that room he was met with Remus and who he thought were probably Hermione's parents, walking straight past them without so much as a word he was seen a few minutes later carrying his trunk down the stairs Remus looked at him before asking thoroughly bewildered "What's going on?"
"Granger is staying here and I'm not stupid enough to fall for the same thing twice, so I'm going downstairs giving the Occamy orders to injure anyone that's not you, the good doctor, Aimee and the current residents down there without knocking or having my permission to be there, who we should probably move soon." Harry said, saying Granger like it was a curse.
Lupin seemed to ignore the first part when he heard the second "I'm not sure we can at the minute, I mean he's getting stronger but....."
"Look, this isn't just a mad idea I came up with so I can get the basement to myself." Harry said before elaborating "We cut off the top floor off for them and Aimee with a room for the Healer. Then Granger, these two if they're staying and Septima or anyone else can stay on the second floor."
"Fine, but can we at least wait until he's nearer to recovery?" Lupin asked wearily "And you can have your Occamy look after you while you sleep until then?"
Harry grumbled an agreement before taking the trunk back up.
The next morning Harry was awake bright and early, going downstairs, getting a shock when he discovered three people already awake, Hermione, Aimee and Remus were all having breakfast and talking lightly, Harry turned to Remus once he sat down and said evenly.
"I'm meeting Bill and Fleur here today, I think they could be useful."
"But they betrayed us!" Aimee pointed out "When Hermione did you practically disowned her."
"I can guarantee their compliance." Harry said, acting as if Hermione were not in the room "Besides, they weren't pretending to be your best friend."
"I've forgiven her, why can't you?" Aimee asked getting annoyed.
"Because she hasn't done anything good since whisking me off to Dumbledore's little tea party."
"I'm afraid you're wrong there Harry." Remus interjected "She's told us some of why Dumbledore wanted you two split up."
"Go on." Harry replied skeptically.
"There was a second prophecy he only learned about as you started your first year, put simply, you two are going to change things."
"Things? Like what,laws, bedsheets, history......"
"I'd guess the first and last, but if you want to do all three then feel free." Aimee said dryly before turning serious "The fates decided Dumbledore has too much influence and isn't using it correctly, he could have stopped the war, isolated Voldemort but he hasn't, he wants us to die fighting him so he's the sole light hero left."
"Think about it, have all of his actions been what you might consider light?" Lupin asked "And do you think he wants his position of Leader of the Light usurped by you two? I'm not saying he's evil, he just has the respect and awe being leader of the light brings is addictive and the prospect of giving that up will be hard for him."
"Well, I'm Lord Black now, I could table a motion of no confidence in the chief Mugwump, on the grounds of several crimes varying in seriousness." Harry said finally "Of course we will need to have the claims in first, and demand that Mad Eye, Tonks or Kingsley aren't investigating, say it's a conflict of interests. Tell Bones."
"I can do that today." Aimee said immediately "I'll be sure to go straight to Madam Bones."
"Good, take someone with you, I'd suggest myself and Septima." Remus said quickly.
"Great, I have to see Bill today and then after that we need to find a way to make mum and dad's recovery look plausible, I think I have an idea actually... we can talk about it later." Harry said before standing up and going to the window to Grimmauld square where he could see Bill and Fleur.
"Kreacher!" Harry yelled causing the elf to appear with a crack.
"Yes master?" The elf asked sounding bored.
"You see the Veela and the Weasley?" he said indicating them in the square "Can you go grab them?"
A minute later Kreacher, Bill and Fleur were in his midst before Kreacher bowed and disappeared.
"First things first, I want oaths, not on your magic, on your soul that this conversation goes no further than this room without my permission?"
The two complied, looking nervous as they did.
"Right. You two know Dumbledore wants me and Aimee separated?" Harry began before receiving nods "But you don't know why."
"To protect you both!" Bill said quickly.
"Nope, anyway, since Christmas last year things have been going on, Sirius hinted something to me and I started digging, and just this morning I learned that Aimee and me need to destroy Voldemort, just Aimee would fail."
"If that were true then he'd have you together." Bill said, trying to hide his discomfort with what he learned.
"No, because it isn't just Voldemort we're destined to stop, Dumbledore is going to be stopped by us, now, why I called you here, I want your help, I'm looking for a pair of Necromancers, always seen together, for hire."
"I think I know them" Bill said immediately "Why do you need them?"
"They have something of mine, now, the oath will stop you from telling anyone about all of this but I want to know, are you with us?" Harry said to both of them "Bill, your mum was planning to marry us into your family for monetary gain, I know you aren't all like that, prove me right."
Bill looked stunned for a moment before nodding as did Fleur, who both took oaths not to betray Harry or Aimee.
"Great, two curse breakers are great additions, you can stay here if you want, the top floor is out of bounds until further notice however."
They nodded and Bill said something about going to get their stuff.
Sometime later when everyone had returned Harry gathered everyone minus the healer, Lily and James in the living room, explaining what was happening with Dumbledore an their memories would be required, particularly Bill and Fleur.
After he had finished that he asked those two to leave and they finished finalizing their plans to reintroduce Lily and James to the world, in the end deciding on an elaborate, yet realistic plot to shift blame for Necromancy onto someone else.
Namely two Necromancers who were somewhat infamous for being both for hire and lovers of experimentation.
Someone who read this as I was writing it said why's he trusting Bill when he didn't trust Hermione initially?
Well, anyone who says doing nothing is worse than doing something bad is full of shit.
But yeah, they'll both have their uses.
