Chapter 1

Author's notes: Review yeah?

Otherwise I don't know whether to keep going or not.

Harry Potter stood up from his calculations, if he worked this out correctly he would have a everything he wanted as well as be out of the shadow of the bitch he called a sister, everyone it seemed loved her, thought she was perfect, regardless of the fact he'd been the one risking his life, they actually got on well and unlike other twins didn't feel the need to be different around their friends, hell they spent most of their time with each other as well as with their own friends, usually mixing the two groups.
Both had, unsurprisingly been sorted into Gryffindor and both were fairly popular, despite the fact Aimee was "The Girl Who Lived" and he was just her brother, admittedly just her brother who got in a lot of trouble and still got out, this, along with the fact he'd saved her life more than once when they went into the stupid, dangerous situations they were somewhat renowned for had helped him stop from being just her unexceptional brother and thus stopping them from hating each other or being jealous of one another for the most part, the only people who honestly cared were Aimee's moron friend Ron, his sister Ginny, a few other idiots and fanboys and fangirls and most surprisingly Professor Dumbledore who year after year refused to believe that Harry had helped her with various Voldemort centered problems never mind did most of the work and year after year it took Harry and Aimee to get the stubborn old git to listen before he reluctantly accepted what they said, most recently at the department of mysteries.
Even so he couldn't help be a little resentful of the fact she got a lot more of the attention and she was ironically resentful of him for not having to put up with all the attention as she was, by nature a quieter more introverted person who preferred to have just one small group of friends rather than the groups of people who threw themselves at her, trying to be seen with her.
Harry was also a rather quiet person but that was a rather recent thing as a lot of his group of friends as well as Aimee and her group of friends were noticing and that's why when he looked around he saw the large green eyes of his sister trying to look over his shoulder.

Grabbing the paper that held the Arithmetic equations before she had a chance to look at them he quickly stuffed it into his pocket before hastily placing a smile on his features.

"What's that?" She asked suspiciously looking at the pocket in which he had placed the scrap of paper, her mind slipping back to the second year and the diary Ron's sister had got hold of.

Harry seemed to know what she was thinking and said in a calming voice "Don't worry, it's nothing dangerous, quite the opposite actually." he finished mysteriously.

She looked baffled for a few seconds before she said "Okay.... well it's 6 am.... I'm going to make some breakfast, are you coming?"

"Yeah okay, let me just grab some ink and a quill." He said grabbing said items before going downstairs with his sister.

As soon as they got downstairs and into the kitchen of Number 4 Privet Drive and started making breakfast, as soon as it was ready they sat at the table, Harry removing the the paper with the various writings on it, they ate in silence other than the occasional curse from Harry and the scratching of him crossing something out or altering a line slightly.

This went on for a while until the end of breakfast when Aimee noticed he looked a lot happier and couldn't help but ask "Why do you look so happy?"

"I can't tell you right now, all that you need to know is that you will love it." Harry said with a massive grin on his face "And I'm nearly done."

She was getting really quite puzzled now but her attention was stolen by four birds including her own owl Hedwig and Harry's Occamy, all four had letters in their talons and one of the unknown owls each dropped a letter in front of each of them before flying off whereas Hedwig dropped a letter in front of Aimee and the Occamy, which he named Severus after another scaly, slimy annoyance he knew dropped the letter he had been waiting for for a while, taking it from the flying, legged snake perhaps a little too eagerly if his of annoyance and insulting him in Parselmouth was anything to go by.

He apologized quickly before ripping the envelope open reading excitedly, a minute after he started reading he looked at her, mad gleam in his eyes "Can you keep a secret?" He whispered excitedly.

"Yes?" She said, now thoroughly bewildered.

"I'm going to hold you to that soon." he said before going back to his paper with renewed enthusiasm, occasionally checking against the pieces of paper that had been with the note before adjusting what he had previously written slightly.

Aimee watched him work with unnatural focus and determination before she said with a slight smile "Really, what are you doing?"

"I said I can't tell you." He said, smile still on his face "But as I said, you will love it."

"We have another letter you know?" She said before forgetting she had two to open, the first turned out to be from Ron, some note telling her how everything was and asking how they were.

The second was the same as Harry's was from the owls they didn't recognize, a letter from Dumbledore telling them they were going to Sirius' old house for the rest of summer, this finally brought Harry out of his good mood, he'd loved Sirius as a father-like figure and a friend and was consequently taking his death harder than Aimee was.

The letter detailed that they were going to be picked up by Lupin and a few others at midday that day, they immediately went upstairs to get ready for them, they had made minimal mess in the tiny room they shared so getting their stuff was a simple matter of just putting the books they had got out back in their trunks, anything else could be dealt with at Grimmauld Place.
As they set to putting the books away Aimee looked at the ones Harry had gotten out, one on potions history & experimentation, three on advanced Arithmancy and one on.....

"Darkest rituals, everything you should know?!" she said loudly, grabbing the book.

"Sssshhh, you can't tell anyone, I need this book to do something." he replied urgently.

"Is this how you think we should fight Voldemort?!" She yelled "Become darker than him?"

"This has nothing to do with Voldemort, this is something for me and you." He said, sounding hurt that she thought him capable of that.

She sensed his tone and softened slightly "You have to tell me what it is..... maybe I can help?"

"No." He said, hurt still in his voice "I don't want to get your hopes up, everything we know so far expects it to work but we want to be sure first. Just trust me ok, it's just me Harry, I'm not going to do anything evil, I promise."

She looked at him a minute before seeing the honest look in his eyes and nodded mutely.

With that he grinned a genuine smile and grabbed the rest of the stuff throwing it in the trunk.

The rest of the morning went slowly as they waited, the Dursley's had been shocked to see the trunks by the front door when they woke up, it took Harry and Aimee several seconds to explain what was happening, Vernon Dursley heard 'going somewhere else' and stopped them there, that seemingly good enough.

Finally midday came and there was a knock at the door, opening it Dudley Dursley was met by Remus Lupin, Septima Vector, Nymphadora Tonks and surprisingly Severus Snape, stepping in Tonks and Lupin grabbed the trunks and apparated away with a loud pop, before anyone could continue Harry turned to Snape and asked quite warmly.

"How is the potion doing Professor?"

"It will be ready, it's you and Septima we are waiting for." He replied, usual coldness absent.

"Well, I'm nearly done, I just want to have Septima check them before we do anything, my Occamy delivered her letter a few hours a go and I've made the necessary changes." Harry replied "But with something this important I don't want to leave it to chance.

"Understandable." Snape said nodding approvingly "Remember what to say if anyone asks?"

"I remember." Harry said before turning to Septima Vector "I was thinking of trying it on a friend of mine first, unlike a lot of other spells or potions it will work on any creature, you don't have to modify it each species."

"Genius, what species is this friend?" she asked fascinated.

"She's a dog." he replied before being interrupted.

"What are you all talking about?" Aimee asked loudly.

"What!" Septima asked "You haven't told her yet?"

"I was planning on telling her tonight, once I had someone around to swear her to secrecy." He explained, this seemed to be reasonable enough to Vector who nodded.

"We should get going, I want to check the figures for you." She said before she grabbed onto his arm as Snape did the same to Aimee and a minute later they were in the home that until recently was owned by Sirius Black, they had learned a few days ago that Sirius had left the house to Harry along with a small amount of Gold and what was in the house while the rest of his possessions other than what went to his friends had gone to Aimee.

Seconds after reappearing Lupin, Molly Weasley, Ginny Weasley and Hermione Granger all made their way towards them before eventually all setting their eyes on Aimee and showering her with attention, saying how they thought she had been injured or attacked when they left and they didn't reapper straight after them, they hadn't even noticed Harry was there and he eventually got bored of this and muttered disgustedly for Snape and Vector to follow him, leading them up to the top flight of stairs, stopping en route to get something from his trunk he instructed Snape to get some of the potion, at which point he removed a vial from his cloak, explaining he was going to suggest a test anyway.

With that they went into the library and after several locking charms, sound blocking charms and so on the three sat at the table and Harry passed the paper to Septima and she read it, an impressed look on her face.

"Wh... wa.... wow." She said awestruck.

"I take it, it's satisfactory?" Snape asked, a hint of his usual sarcastic manner seeping into his voice.

"It's more than satisfactory.... look!" She said passing him it with a flourish.

Snape didn't know much about Arithmancy but he knew this was complex work and if her reaction was any indicator it was done well.

"Is it ok?" Harry asked finally.

"It's perfect. Or as near as you could get." Septima whispered.

With that Harry wasted no more time and began working on the table, drawing a shape roughly in a red chalk like substance which he took from his pocket, as he drew he saw it was an ancient symbol from the dark arts book which if done properly in the correct material along with the correct spell could summon a specific soul, then you just had to get the body working again which was what the potion was for, it was a highly modified version of the potion used in the Inferi ritual, it did however use what little magic remained them and took a fair amount of time to bring them out of the coma it put them in, after that they would be alive again, admittedly magically weak until their body got going again and so on but after their recovery completely alive and as they were.

The puppy however wouldn't take that as it was a) Newborn which affected the spell for some reason and b)not magical.

Starting the ritual harry placed the puppy in the center of the shape and started the spell as Severus poured the potion into the puppy's mouth, after muttering the spell for exactly 17 minutes the puppy coughed and opened an eye.

Overjoyed Harry told Severus to go to Hogwarts and get hold of some fresh dog milk from his stores, when Snape asked how Harry knew he had some Harry pointed out he was a potions master and only a moronic one wouldn't have fresh dog milk.

Snape glowering as he did conceded and went to get it, slamming the door as he went.

"It worked...." Harry said ecstatically.

"It did Harry, I'm impressed, no one else has been able to cure death." Septima said with a smile before adding "When are you going to try the real try?"

"I don't know, as soon as possible I think, we should probably bring Aimee in on it though before we do this, see what she thinks." Harry said before adding bitterly before he could stop himself "We'll feed the puppy, should give her time to finish with her fan club."

"I thought that didn't bother you?" Vector asked a little surprised at his outburst.

"Yeah, well..... it gets annoying sometimes, it gets annoying no realizing I exist." Harry replied grumpily, absently stroking the dog that was no bigger than the palm of his hand, changing the subject he asked, all traces of bitterness gone "What breed do you think she is?"

Just then Snape entered with several vials and said "You'll have to wait a few weeks, I wouldn't suggest checking magically, it's too small and weak."

Septima agreed and they then decided it probably a good idea to go downstairs and that the others didn't know where they were, wrapping the puppy in the material it was in before they returned downstairs.

Much to Harry's disappointment the only ones wondering where they had been was Aimee and as of just before they went in the door Remus, entering Harry sat as far from them as possible, feeling hurt that they didn't care and that Aimee only did because she wanted to know what Harry had been doing for the last few weeks.

Sitting at the other end of the table from the group he indicated for Snape and Septima to sit with him, they did so with Septima in the middle, as they talked, ate and Harry put the Puppy in his jacket so it would be near his own body heat.

Dinner went on with the others passing occasional glances to three furthest away from them who ignored them and continued discussing what they were doing in hushed whispers before Harry eventually took out the puppy so they could check it was ok, Harry passed it to Snape who it was decided should feed it first as he had had to do so when he had a dog who had puppies as a child, he showed Harry what to do and Harry began feeding the pitifully small creature, everything going fine until Ron decided they looked suspicious, all looking under the table and in his infinite wisdom he came to the conclusion that asking what they were doing would be too intelligent, instead deciding to walk over and grab the material holding the tiny dog, he also sent it flying into the air, the impact would have killed it had Snape not been fast enough to pull his wand out and lower it down slowly into Septima's hand as he could see that Harry had a murderous look in his eye.

"What the hell are you playing at?!" Harry asked Ron in a voice that could scare a giant.

"I..... ummm.... err well I well.... wanted to see what you're doing." Ron replied rather lamely.

"Did you not think of asking you moron?!" Harry yelled back "Or better yet did you even think why it was any of your business?"

At this Mrs Weasley's parental instincts took over and she started yelling at Harry.

"How dare you yell at my Ronald! All he did was come over and try to find out what you were doing and you feel you have the right to berate him?!" She shrieked like a banshee.

"No, he didn't." Septima said cutting across Harry who was about to retort "He came over to spy on Harry and try and take something he had no right to take from him, almost killing a newborn puppy in the process."

"He.... could have been doing anything..... the prophet said...." Molly replied somewhat lamely.

"Yes, I remember what it said perfectly Molly." Septima responded icily "Because while you were comforting Aimee when the rumors were spread about the two of them, you didn't do the same with him, leaving him more alone than ever..... now here's one simple question, do you believe if Harry had an inclination to practice dark arts he would do so around two Hogwarts professors? Unless of course you think we are teaching him dark arts." She ended, slipping sarcasm into the last sentence.

Molly looked mortified at the implication and said nothing, sitting down, defeated, and Harry stood up asking Septima in a quiet voice to look after the puppy tonight as he was exhausted from the ritual that brought it back to life.

With that he passed by all of them, not returning the nervous smile he was sent by his sister.

Ron it seemed noticed this and became his usual self again, slamming the cloth on the table he followed Harry despite Ginny, Aimee and the twins telling him not to as he walked, grabbing his shoulder and pulling him around.

"Who do yo-..." He began before he was immediately punched in the face, knocking him back, his nose broken and bleeding.

After that Harry walked out of the room, fury etched on his face.

Approaching the room that had his trunk outside it he realized it was the master bedroom, accessible only to those allowed by the head of the black family (him) which ensured him a good nights sleep at least, also there were silencing charms meaning he could hear them but they couldn't hear him.

With that he entered, throwing his trunk in the corner and fell on the bed, asleep within minutes, forgetting to even change clothes.

He woke up the next morning to someone banging on his door followed by his sisters voice calling his name, walking over to the door he opened it to see his sister looking at him oddly for a second before it set in anger, raising her voice she began yelling at him.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WERE PLAYING AT LAST NIGHT!? YOU COULD HAVE HURT RON!" She began before continuing "DO YOU EVEN CARE ABOUT THAT? I BET YOU DON'T DO YOU?"

She stared at him as though daring him to reply, he looked at her calmly and said, keeping his voice neutral "Did you not think I had a reason for needing that puppy and for wanting to keep her safe, that maybe she was important?" He asked before continuing "And that I wasn't going to let Weasley ruin something that important to me and possibly you."

She looked stunned for a moment, it seemed she had forgotten about all his hard work and that scrap of paper in her anger.

"What is it then?" She asked, doing her best to remain angry, though failing now she could see he was perhaps justified in his anger.

"Like you care, you're too busy protecting one of your adoring fans to think I'm doing something to make your life better, sis." he replied, the last word thick with sarcasm.

Before she could reply he'd walked past her, angrier than he'd been yesterday.

Storming into the library Septima 'sshh''d him pointing to the puppy who was in a basket she'd conjured last night, to which he nodded and said in a quieter voice.

"How is she?"

"Severus says she's doing fine but he's the expert, he just said keep feeding her the milk every few hours and I've done that, looks better than yesterday anyway." Septima said with a smile, evidently getting attached to the little furball, with that she changed the subject "So what's wrong?"

"Aimee." He said as if the one word answer was enough.

"Not too happy about what happened with Weasley?" She asked in an understanding voice.

"That's putting it mildly, I had to point out it was more than the puppy, that it was something that was important to both of us." Harry replied broodingly.

"So you still haven't told her what we were testing for with her?" She said indicating the puppy.

"She doesn't even know, she thinks it's just a stray I picked up.... I'm tempted to not tell her at all." Harry said still angry.

"You have to tell her, it will affect you both after all." Septima said soothingly.

"I suppose yo-...." Harry began before being interrupted by the door opening, through it stepped Aimee, Ron, Remus, Molly and Ginny.

"What will? I think I have a right to know if it affects me." Aimee asked angrily, the Weasley's nodding in support of her.

"Come sit down and we'll explain, Septima, go get Snape, he's at Hogwarts, probably his office." Harry said before he saw a flash of red light and Septima fall to the floor, Harry jumped up drawing his wand "What are you playing at Weasley?!"

"We want to know what you're up to" Ron replied in his best attempt to sound menacing which was really quite pathetic, Harry decided to go for the easiest way to deal with this particular problem, which this time just happened to be the truth.

"Fine Weasley, but I'm not telling you, your sister, your brothers or your parents." Harry replied coolly "It's between me and Aimee."

"Then why are Professor Vector and Snape involved?" Ron asked venomously, jabbing Harry with his wand.

That got on Harry's nerves more than it would have done normally and he immediately pointed his wand at Ron and said loudly "Expelliarmus." catching Ron's wand as he did, he then banished Ron, Ginny and Mrs Weasley out of the room, locking the door after him.

"Remus, you're somewhat involved too so I've allowed you to stay, but before we go any further I'm going to need oaths to not tell anyone until I say the time is right." Harry said with unusual seriousness as he cast enervate on Septima.

"What happened?" She asked getting to her feet.

"Weasley." Harry replied watching her face take on a furious expression "We can deal with him later, for now we need Severus."

"Fine." She said with a scowl going to the fireplace before throwing some Floo powder, after a few minutes of conversation she took her head out of the fire "He's coming through."

A few seconds later Snepe came through the fireplace, scowl on his face.

"Is it true what Septima told me?" He asked looking around him.

"That depends on what she said." Harry pointed out.

"That Weasley raised a wand to a teacher, in a sneak attack too?"

"Yes that's true." Harry said before adding "But we can deal with that moron later, for now we have to fill these two about our.... uhmm experiments." Harry said struggling to find the right word.

Snape stood up quite suddenly walking over to the puppy which seemed to recognize him and approached without fear, holding it in the palm of his hand he went to sit down at the table, the others joining him.

"You got the oaths already I take it?" Snape asked.

"Yes, of course." Harry responded.

"Good, no point not checking." Snape replied.

"Anyway, this puppy." Harry began "Tell me what you know about it."

"Uhm...." Was the reply from Remus and Aimee.

"This time yesterday it was dead and had been that way since three days before, we changed a potion similar to the one Voldemort used to get his body back along with an ancient, ancient ritual we found in this library last year, I couldn't change the spell enough on my own so I had to ask Septima here for help, we got so far but neither of us stood a chance at creating the potion on our own so we had to take the chance to ask Severus, he agreed, I think more scientific curiosity than anything else but this puppy was the test, we want to move on to the person we did all of this for." Harry finished.

"Who was that?" Lupin asked with a fair idea.

"Mum and Dad." Harry said before continuing "We didn't want to do this if Aimee wasn't ok with it, after that we're placing this information in my personal vault at Gringotts."

"Why?" Aimee asked eventually.

"Because I want mum and dad back." Harry said as though she was insane.

"No I mean why are you putting it in your vault. Not giving it to the world?"

"Because that would be wrong." Harry said simply.

"So, do you agree with trying?" Harry asked the two of them.

"It's up to you two really." Remus said.

"Let's try." Aimee said with a weak smile before a question entered her mind "Wait.... why did you have us swear oaths to secrecy?"

"Because we want to let them recuperate in peace, they will need god knows how long to rebuild magical strength." Harry said.

"Oh, ok." Aimee said "When do we go?"

"As soon as you're ready." Harry said while Septima and Severus gathered things they'd brought with them.

"Let's go then." Aimee said before remembering the Weasley's "What about Ron and his family?"

"We can deal with them when we're back." Harry said darkly.

Snape coughed quietly "Can we go?"

The others nodded in the affirmative and after Harry and Aimee grabbed hold of someone they all apparated to Godric's hollow, all landing behind some bins, stepping out they walked towards the village square, Harry looked at a sign pointing to the church, following the sign they saw the tiny church building and a graveyard to the back of it, continuing forward they started searching the graves.

Two hours later they found a Mausoleum that had Potter written on it, looking at it for a few seconds Harry then walked towards it, opening the gates respectfully.

With that they got to work looking for the correct crypt until eventually Septima said nearer the front than the others "Found it." and they all gathered around before Snape and Lupin removed their wands moving the stone lid of the coffin to the side to reveal the perfectly preserved bodies of Lily and James Potter.

"Can you make a portkey to the Grimmauld Place basement?" Harry asked Lupin who nodded grimly creating a portkey, passing it to Harry who placed it so it was touching both of his parents who promptly disappeared.

"Let's get going." Snape said before disappearing with a crack, Remus took hold of Aimee and did the same, last to go was Septima and Harry who reappeared under the main house.

"Severus, go get the materials from your office that you need." Septima said as she pulled out the chalk like substance required and as soon as Snape got back they set off to work.
