September 26th 2019:

Draco Malfoy proposed to Hermione on February 14th, 2018. She found it incredibly cheesy that he would choose Valentine’ Day to propose to her but said yes, immediately. Draco then moved his entire life back to London. Deciding it was time to hang up his Auror badge, he took a job as the newest Potions Professor at Hogwarts, much to his daughter’s dismay.  Along with becoming the new Potions Professor, he also became the new Head of Slytherin House. This meant that Lyra would have a harder time sneaking into her boyfriend’s dormitory.

Overall, Lyra was happy to have both her parents under the same roof. It took a lot of adjusting, but after a few months they got the hang of it.

Narciassa Malfoy decided to decimate Malfoy Manor and with the help of Minister Hermione Granger, they rebuilt it to become a safe haven for any students who needed somewhere to go.

Hermione’s parents slowly adjusted to being back into her life and learning all about the time they had missed. Another long period of adjustment, but ultimately the three of them couldn’t be happier to be back together as a family.

“Mom, are you almost ready?” Lyra peaked her head into her mother’s bedroom. Much to Narcissa Malfoy’s dismay, Hermione and Draco decided on having a backyard wedding. A small ceremony with only the people closest to them in attendance. Lyra forced her mother to at least do the big white dress. They compromised into Hermione wearing a simple white gown. Lyra wore a mid-thigh length, emerald green dress and her platinum blonde hair was down in all its natural curly glory.

“I’m ready.” Hermione stood up, her white gown fitted perfectly to her. Her own curly hair cascading into waves down her back. A simple white tiara rested on her head, a gift from Narcissa.

“You look beautiful, mom.” Hermione smiled.

“So do you.”

Hermione and Draco chose the date of their original anniversary. A way to always remember the love they shared before they were forced apart. They chose a long engagement in order to fully relearn each other.

“Dad is a nervous wreck. I think part of him is worried you might ditch him.” Hermione laughed.

“He knows we’ll never be separated again.” Lyra smiled. She was glad to see her parents together and in love.

“Gramps is at the bottom of the stairs. I volunteered to come up and make sure you were ready.”

“I’m ready.” Hermione and Lyra walked down the stairs.

“Oh, Hermione, darling, you look beautiful.” Noah Granger kissed his daughter’s forehead.

“I’ll see you out there.” Lyra handed Hermione her bouquet before heading out the doors to their backyard.

Lyra walked past all her family. On the left, her dad’s friends and family sat and on the right, her mom’s. She got to the altar and hugged her dad.

“You look beautiful.” Draco said as he released his daughter from their hug.

“Just wait till you see mom.” She smiled before taking her place next to where Hermione will stand.

They both decided that the only person who should be standing with them should be their daughter. Lyra was acting as both the maid of honor and the best man. Minerva McGonagall is the one performing the ceremony. She was very honored when the pair asked her.

Everyone was silent as the doors to the house opened and Hermione walked out, arm linked with her father’s. Lyra watched as Draco’s eyes started to water. Lyra was happy to see her parents in love and happy. They both have been through so much in their lives, they deserve to finally be happy.

Hermione reached the altar. Her father kissed her cheek, shook Draco’s hand and took his seat.

“You are fucking gorgeous, Granger.” Hermione blushed.

“Please be seated” McGonagall began the ceremony. They’d asked her to perform a mixture of a muggle and a wizarding wedding. They wanted a ceremony that would honor both sides of their family. Hermione insisted on the two of them writing their own vows, which she learned during the process of the Potter’s wedding, that it is not common for wizards to do so.

“Hermione, would you like to share your vows first?” Hermione nodded.

“Draco Malfoy,” She began and it almost made him nervous. “You and I, we’ve been on one hell of a ride together. From being born into two completely different worlds, being pitted against each other, to fighting a war, yet despistes all that we were able to learn how to love each other. We have defied so many odds in order to get where we are today. There is no one else that I would have rather spent this time with. I love you, Draco Malfoy and I am very excited to be known as your second wife.” Everyone laughed and Draco shook his head. “I had to throw that in there. I love you and I am incredibly thankful to have you in my life.”

“Draco, I believe it is your turn now.”

“Only you, Hermione Granger, would include being my second wife in your vows.” Everyone laughed once again. “I love you, Granger. I have loved you for a long time. When you told me that we had to write our own vows, I freaked out a little and I made Lyra show me how to use the ethernet and the com-puter in order to research what muggle men say in their vows.” All of those in the crowd who have tried to teach a pureblood how to use the internet laughed at Draco’s mispronunciation of the words, ‘internet’ and ‘computer’. “You turned my world upside down, Granger. I don’t deserve you but everyday, I will fight for you and I will fight for our love. I will never let you out of my life again. You are my everything. You are an incredible witch and an incredible woman. I am immensely grateful to you for giving me a chance to love you. It’s you and me forever, Granger. You can’t get rid of me now.” Both Draco and Hermione were shedding tears now.

“I think they both have said all there is to say.” McGonagall motioned for Lyra to bring forward their rings. “The couple in front of me has chosen to enchant their rings with runes they each choose.” Lyra handed her mother the ring she would place on Draco’s finger.

“For you, I have chosen the runes which represent; Love, Charm, and Protection”

“Hermione Granger, do you want Draco Malfoy to be your husband?” McGonagall asked.

“I do.” Hermione slid the ring onto Draco’s finger.

Lyra then handed Hermione’s ring to Draco.

“For you, I have chosen the runes which represent; Love, Protection, and forgiveness.”

“Draco Malfoy, do you want Hermione Granger to be your wife?” McGonagall asked.

“I do.” Draco slid the ring onto Hermione’s finger.

“I now pronounce you, Husband and Wife. You may now kiss your Bride.”

“Keep it PG!” Lyra yelled as Draco leaned forward to gently kiss Hermione. Everyone cheered.

“I love you, Husband.” Hermione mumbled against Draco’s lips.

“I love you, wife.” Draco mumbled back.

And thus, began the long and happy life of the Malfoy-Granger family.
