Consequnces of mating
This just made sense to separate these two sequences.
~Meanwhile back at the base~
Jaquelyn stood at her potion set up while Ratchet and Optimus watched eagerly over her shoulders. They were moved behind Jaquelyn - the last time their hovering caused an explosion. Luckily it was quickly and easily contained by Jaquelyn and vanished by Miko. However, the other members of team Prime were watching and looking over frequently. She was making a few of the more basic healing salves for Ratchet to study and officially have his approval for use in the medbay.
A harsh-sounding slap originated from her station causing all eyes to look over to see a sheepish-looking Optimus rubbing his hand and Jaquelyn absentmindedly shaking a finger in the Prime's direction. Blandly says “Don’t touch that.” The servos quickly retreated from the non-threatening slap they received. “If you touch it there will be another explosion nearly blowing up the entire base.”
Ratchet was still riding the high over getting to study Jaquelyn’s blood - even if it was over a month ago and he still couldn’t hide the smile on his face.
For now, he had to note down the differences and similarities between their biology and a Cybertronians Cytology. Even with the interruptions and his sparks desire to monitor Jaquelyn’s well-being, It was proving to be a steady, meticulous process. Through it all, he learned there was a surprising number of similarities between the two. Thus leading to the ground-breaking conclusion that a Cybertronian and a human could have sparklings together. Ratchet had to manually remove himself from his lab when the results came back positive.
Optimus heard Ratchet's precious tools clattering on the ground and came walking towards the noise. It was subtle enough that the others at the base ignored it as background noise.
Once there seeing how Ratchet wasn’t fretting over his dropped tools, he asked “Old friend, what troubles you?”
Without looking over Ratchet answered “I’m sure you’ve seen everyone’s attraction to Jaquelyn and taking it more than what happened during mating week” glancing over to see OPtimus’ nod. “You’ve also seen her reactions to all of our courting. She definitely has an interest in all of us in return. I feel as if I can safely say that it is only a matter of time and a little more work for her to be our sparkmate.” he paused and both looked happier at the verbal admission.
“But,” taking a deep breath Ratchet continued looking over at his station “She is perfectly compatible, in fact, she’s incredibly fertile with any of us.”
There was a natural pause while their processors forced the image of Jaquelyn's figure changing to accommodate their growing sparkling, and the feeling of their frames begin to heat up again.
Apparently, their conversation wasn’t as private as they thought. Bumblebee piped up with wide optics “Wait Ratchet, are you really saying Jaquelyn can have sparklings with us?”
“Yes," a firm nod to accentuate his point, “We shall need to make subtle preparations for this eventuality. Optimus, Wheeljack, and I will share a list of the most pressing issues that we can fix.”
This news was open knowledge between the bots within a few clicks. Optimus immediately started on a new schedule to fit in the preparations.
Once Wheeljack came back into the base (now put on the roster to gather Raff from school) at a noticeably slower speed than what he usually would do. He watched as Raff went towards Samantha at her brewing station for a hands-on lesson on potion brewing.
Once, safe with Jaquelyn he made his way towards the Prime, “What’s up with the new schedule?” Receiving the beginning of the list Ratchet made “and the changes to the base?”
“Advanced preparations for a sparkling.”
There was a heavy pause while he processed. “What?”
Making sure there was no one listening in Optimus continued in a lower voice that wouldn’t carry “Through studying Jaquelyn's blood, Ratchet has found she is not only compatible but fertile with cybertronians. It's probable that mating with her, while she is fertile, will result in a sparkling. With how well all our courting is going, it is only a matter of time. I’d much rather precaution be taken”
“But good luck finding a femmes fertile window. Practically impossible.”
Optimus nodded in response “Not for Jaquelyn - or maybe human femmes. She seems to be fertile at a regular and predictable schedule - at least once an Earth month.”
Wheeljack practically choked in surprise and took a moment to respond and to put a pause on the thoughts of thrusting into her, filling her with transfluid and seeing her pleasured as his servos soothed where her frame shifted to better accommodate a growing sparkling.
After overcoming himself, he immediately went towards Ratchet and started up his own list. Both bots put aside any differences in the face of how important these changes would be.
~A few days later~
Miko hummed and told Raff and Jaquelyn “The bots have been acting weird lately.”
Raff quickly agreed “Yea, I asked Bee about the changes to the base and he just says that they’re doing some preparations but never for what!”
Jaquelyn added “It seems to be a type of construction work. Bulks only mentioned in passing that it's nice to have a taste of old times before the war kicked off when he was just starting out life and working in a construction crew. Of course, he tensed up and clammed up before walking away saying he was behind on his schedule.”
