Anger.

Anger was a feeling that Wanda Maximoff was completely familiar with.

It had been anger she felt for Tony Stark after the bomb killed her parents, she had felt anger the moment she and Pietro joined Hydra as revenge. When Pietro died she used all her anger to take down Ultron's robots, anger had driven her to kill Proxima Midnight, anger, anger, anger, anger.

Her life full of misfortunes was fueled again and again by the same feeling, the feeling for which she had been able to continue, the feeling that helped her overcome every single obstacle that fate threw at her since she was a little girl, anger was the only reason she was still alive. And how could she not? Transferring her fury from one tragic event to another was her defense mechanism, the magic crackling in her veins as her insides cried out for revenge was so intoxicating, so alluring.

So intense.

Maybe when she was a child and watched Seinfield and Buffy The Vampire Slayer she thought she was a good person, at the time she was a normal child, with normal dreams, normal behaviors, she was completely ordinary. Was.

Wanda was not a good person, she knew that. In the time she worked for Hydra she and Pietro had done unforgivable things, murder, manipulation, torture, then she manipulated Tony Stark to create Ultron, then the Hulk killed hundreds of people because of her. In her attempt to redeem herself, she had joined the Avengers to try to assuage the guilt inside her, however that ended in disaster, dozens of people dead in Lagos because of her, the Sokovia Accords, the Avengers splitting up because of her, her inability to permanently destroy the mind stone.

It was all her fault.

Shame for each of her actions swirled inside her, it was like vomit wanting to get out of her system, she just needed to vent, some comfort, someone to confide in.

But it was too late for that.

They were all dead, her parents, her family, Pietro, Steve, Natasha, even Tony Stark himself.

Dead.

2017 - England.

"I don't understand." Vision's soft whisper made Wanda pause the movie they were watching. "Why are they acting like animals?" He asked with genuine confusion.

"It's a joke, Vis." Wanda pointed out as she chuckled under her breath. "She just moved there from Africa, so they’re making fun of that." She explained.

Vis looked at the television screen as if he was trying to decipher the darkest secrets of the universe until he simply said, "Oh."

Wanda rolled her eyes and looked at him fondly. "Do you want me to change it? I'm sure we can find something else interesting."

"I-" Vision refocused his gaze on her. "No." He said firmly. "You wanted to see this, we should finish it."

Wanda swallowed harshly as a flood of sensations washed over her, Vision was supposed to be a robot, he couldn't understand her, he couldn't have feelings.

But he had them.

It was difficult, definitely. However Vision had the capacity to love, he could feel and Wanda knew it, the look in his eyes said it all, it was a look filled with so many emotions, so captivating, so beautiful. Wanda would treasure it for a lifetime.

Vision was everything to her.

"Never mind." Vision opened his mouth to retort but Wanda quickly cut him off. "This one's good too, I know you'll like it." She then moved the remote until the new movie started.

Vision simply nodded as he lay back down on the couch with Wanda lying on his chest, he ran his fingers over her hair tenderly as he made sure to keep her warm as he always did, worrying about her well being.

Wanda let her mind switch off as the movie progressed, the bad decisions the protagonist had made since she was a child reminded her of herself, it was certainly an ironic situation that she didn't like to remember.

As the movie continued Wanda delighted in the little laugh that came out of Vision at certain parts, especially when they compared the protagonist's love interest to Bruce Banner, his eyes sparkled like diamonds and he just looked so human, so normal that it made Wanda's heart race as she wondered if maybe the idea of a family wasn't as crazy as she originally thought.

She rested her head on his chest right where his heart should be, and although she clearly couldn't hear any heartbeat, the feeling of all the emotions that were there was completely overwhelming, because although Vision was originally a robot, a simple machine, he had evolved and Wanda could feel it, she could feel the love and devotion he felt towards her, the affection, the hope, the set of emotions that made him Vision, emotions that Wanda wouldn't trade for anything in the world.

A smile crossed her face as she closed her eyes, Vision's feelings and emotions fluttering in her soul like butterflies. "Vis?" She called, still with her eyes closed.

"Yes, darling?"

"I can feel you." And even without seeing, Wanda could feel the smile on Vision's face, his emotions were of complete calm and happiness and his chest grew warm.

As sleep took over her mind, Wanda slept with a smile, everything would be okay, she could feel it.

S.W.OR.D Headquarters, 2023.

But that was in the past.

Wanda opened her eyes as her mind drifted back to the present, her magic desperately trying to find a sign of life, a reaction, a feeling, an emotion.

Nothing.

A tear fell down her cheek as her hands touched the remaining pieces of the once love of her life. "I can't feel you anymore." She whispered.

It was at that moment that Wanda realized she was completely alone. Vision had been her last salvation, he was who Wanda lived for, he was everything to her and now he was gone.

All alone.

She leaned over and gave him a small kiss to his forehead on the table, knowing it was the last time she would see him, the last time she would be able to touch him. "I will always love you Vis." She said as she tried to wipe the tears from her face.

She sat up and walked out of the room, ignoring the screams of Director Hayward and the other scientists in the room, she needed to be alone, she couldn't stand being in that place anymore, Vis deserved a funeral worthy of a hero, he was not a machine to experiment with.

Why did everything have to end for her?

She got into her car as she rested her forehead on the steering wheel and immediately a flood of emotions hit her, the anger that was always there was gone and in its place sadness filled her body like water to the river, loneliness, depression, loss.

Loud sobs escaped as she collapsed in her car, the fact that she was now completely alone hit her like a freight train and anxiety ran through her entire body. Why did everything have to happen to her? It was so unfair.

Her moment of self-pity was interrupted by the sound of an owl hooting. Wanda sniffled as she tried to wipe the tears from her eyes and looked teary-eyed at the owner of the sound.

An owl as black as night looked back at her and Wanda felt memories sucking her in.

Christmas 2017 - England.

Wanda squeezed Vision's hand as they walked through the small neighborhood. It had been a few months since the separation of the Avengers over the Sokovia Accords and their unofficial vacation in England was going great.

"This place is pretty peaceful, don't you think Vision?" She asked as she breathed in the clean air, winter was about to begin so the cold was quite palpable. "Vis?" She asked again when he didn't respond.

Instead he was completely frozen as he looked towards one of the houses in the distance. "Vision?"

He placed a finger to his lips. "I'm sensing a wave of energy, it's similar to your powers." He explained.

Wanda gasped as she understood the significance of that, were there more people like her? Were they Hydra experiments too? Needing answers, she quickly let go of his hand as she started walking in the direction Vision was looking at.

"Wait!" He called. "It could be dangerous." But Wanda ignored him and kept walking in the direction of the house.

"You can still join us Potter!" A gruff voice called from inside the house.

"When the pigs fly I will, Bombarda!" another voice shouted and Wanda quickly turned away as one of the back walls of the house exploded like dynamite.

There was in roar from inside as Wanda tried to listen and analyze as much as possible, but could only make out words in what sounded like Latin and lights flying back and forth. "You are two and a mere Muggle, if you surrender we might consider giving you a piece of the mudblood for yourself." The first voice offered again.

Meanwhile Wanda's head went crazy trying to understand, mudblood? What did that mean? Was it some kind of code?

"Please!" A female voice begged. "She's my sister, don't do anything to her please-" But she was quickly interrupted by another voice crying 'Crucio!' and a woman's screams echoed throughout the place. Wanda's eyes widened like saucers as intense pain shot through her heart. Was that what the screaming woman was feeling? That had to stop and now. Of course, Wanda was a wanted woman and she knew the whole "Hero" thing was over for her, but that didn't mean she was going to allow someone to be tortured right under her nose.

She took a deep breath before stepping out of the small wall where she was hiding and quickly her eyes registered the situation. There was a thin blonde woman on the floor moaning as she trembled violently, next to her were some figures wearing skull shaped masks openly laughing at the woman. On the other side of the room was a dark skinned teenager with round glasses, he was looking at the scene in front of him with rage in his brown eyes as he held the hand of a woman who was strangely resembling Wanda herself, she had vibrant red hair and mesmerizing green eyes that were blurred with tears that were openly falling down her face. Wanda couldn't help but notice that everyone, with the exception of the woman on the floor, had long pieces of wood in their hand.

"Seven against three doesn't sound like a very fair game, does it?" She asked as she announced herself, her eyes starting to turn red as her fingers twisted from the need to let her magic out.

"Who are you?" One of the masked men demanded as he pointed the stick at her.

"Your worst nightmare." She sneered and threw the man across the room, his companions quickly sprang into action and began to cast - Spells? - that came out of the sticks in their hands. Wanda dodged each one as she launched her own attacks, firing magic relentlessly.

Seeing what the battle was beginning to tilt in their favor, the teens rallied to their side and began to attack. "I didn't know you had a twin Lils!" The black haired boy shouted as he dodged a black spell. "If I had known there were two of you my life would have been easier."

"Shut up James!" The redhead snarled as she cast a curse of her own that exploded into the leg of one of the masked men, making him scream in pain. "I'm sure she wouldn't have given you the time of day."

Wanda smiled as she launched a particularly strong attack that hit most of them knocking them unconscious "Oh you hurt me Lils, you know I'm a sweetheart." The now named James laughed as he waved his hand and stunned the last of the masked men. When they all fell to the ground completely defeated, he looked at Wanda with a flirtatious smile. "James Potter at your service, my lady." He said as he kissed her hand.

"I don't think it's polite to flirt with a stranger when your girlfriend is present." Wanda pointed out.

"Don't listen to him, his arrogant ass thinks everyone is in love with him." The green-eyed girl rolled her eyes. "I'm Lily Evans and it's nice to meet you Miss Maximoff, I've always wanted to meet a member of the avengers." She said as she held out her hand, her eyes shining almost with admiration.

"It's just Wanda, and it's nice to meet you too." She smiled. "However I take it I'm no longer part of the avengers."

Lily snorted. "The Sokovia Accords suck."

"An aven- what? Is that a Muggle band?" James asked with confusion. "Besides what accords? The Prophet didn't say anything about that."

"That's an excellent question Mr. Potter." Vision announced as he materialized in the room, causing James to point his stick at him. "However, I think we should discuss what happened here today." He said calmly, as he pointed to the blonde woman on the floor and the men lying all over the room.

Unbeknownst to any of the four, they had just faced the dark lord's followers for the first time, triggering one of the first requirements of the prophecy that would be spoken two years later.

Wanda gasped as she came back to the present, her mind cursing herself for her stupidity. How had she forgotten her own friends? If she could even call them that.

After the incident with the masked men, Vision had pressed (passively threatened) the teens for an explanation. They were surprisingly cooperative and Wanda listened to their stories with sparkling eyes. Who knew? Wizards and witches living on earth as part of an occult society was frighteningly fascinating, the idea of all the power these individuals were born with was completely insane and Wanda felt amazed and maybe a little jealous, she would have given anything to have met them before and maybe be part of that school of magic.

After the explanations were given Wanda found out that Lily and James were on their Christmas break so they had decided to visit her sister, which was impressive considering their relationship was relatively new, Wanda fondly remembered James recounting all the years he had begged Lily to go out, in her opinion, it was quite romantic.

Lily, in her eagerness to learn more about avengers, had invited them on a double date and the four of them had formed a tentative friendship in the few weeks they had dated. Especially her and Lily, with whom she shared, besides their obvious physical resemblance, the same sense of humor and many hobbies, so both had become quite close.

Wanda put her hand out the window and carefully stroked the beautiful black feathers of the owl, who kept looking at her with piercing eyes. "Do you need anything?" She asked, feeling a little stupid for talking to an animal. However, the owl hooted again and shook its leg, Wanda blinked and looked at the package strapped to its legs. "Is this for me?" she asked and the owl hooted again, almost in confirmation.

Confused, Wanda untied the package and the moment she had it in her hands the owl hooted one last time before flying away. She untied the package and was surprised to find an innocent looking book, however, there was something else, she could sense darkness inside that, something twisted, something evil.

And Wanda opened it.

 Wanda.

I hope you are well! We just got back to Hogwarts and even though He didn't even know what you were, James is bragging to everyone about having met the "two most powerful avengers." Although every time he says that I roll my eyes, I secretly agree.

Thank you so much for the time you guys spent with us. I always wanted a best friend who understood me and you came along at just the right time, it was the best Christmas of my life.

      Love, Lily.

Wanda's fingers ran through the book as she touched the letter reverently. Lily had written her a letter? If so, why do it in a book? Why not send it directly to her? Maybe Wanda was missing at the time? It was a good chance...

Even with a thousand doubts in her mind, Wanda read on.

Wanda.

My parents told me that Tony Stark is missing, do you know anything about it?

I hope you and Vision are well, take care of yourself.

Love, Lily.

Now that confirmed it, if Wanda was alive at the time, why didn't she ever receive the letters?

Wanda.

People in the Great Hall started to disappear!!!! We were at breakfast and suddenly Professor Flitwick turned to dust, immediately chaos ensued and then half the students and teachers disappeared. Professor Dumbledore is talking about ending the school year early, there seems to be chaos all around everyone, please, I need to know you are fine, write to me when you can.

Love, Lily.

Well, at least they had survived the Blip, however, it all still didn't make sense.

Wanda.

I saw the news today. Is it stupid to write to you? I know you're gone and you'll probably never read this but deep in my heart I hold out hope that someday you'll come back. The magical world is in chaos, it seems that a lot of the followers of you-know-who have disappeared so the man is wreaking havoc.

I'm really sorry, I wish I could have been there with you to stop this, Captain Rogers said something about a titan named Thanos, maybe things could have been different... I hope wherever you are you are fine.

Lily.

Wanda snorted, only Lily would blame herself for something that was out of her hands, it was, as had been explained to her, a completely Gryffindor rank.

Wanda.

It's been two years? Since I last wrote to you. I just didn't think it was right, I've never felt so amicably connected to someone before, even though we had little time, you were more of a big sister to me than Pet ever was and I miss you, every time I think of you it hurts and I know James feels the same way.

What can I tell you? The magical world has stabilized a bit, people are slowly getting used to living, many purebloods lost their wives and childrens so they are joining who-you-know, Professor Dumbledore has tried to counteract it but it's really hard. James is finishing his internship at the auror academy and I am doing a masters in spell creation, I'm sure you would have loved many of them.

Missing you, Lily.

"I miss you too." Wanda said to nothing as she tried to hold back tears, knowing that even two years after her death Lily was still writing to her had made her feel warm inside. The feeling that someone other than Vision cared about her in a sisterly way was something completely new to her, something she had never felt before, she just hoped it wasn't too late.

Wanda.

I'm pregnant! Can you believe it? This was certainly a surprise, James and I took care of ourselves and took every measure but it still happened. I know this is not the time to have children, our baby would have to be born in the middle of a war, and although James assured me that he would support me in whatever my decision is, I feel I couldn't abort it, I'm not brave enough.

I hope I'm making the right decision but I really want to have this baby, and I'd like it even more if you were here to see it.

Missing you, Lily.

Her eyes widened like saucers as she read that specific letter. A baby? In the middle of a magical war? Oh no...

Wanda.

I know you're technically... well, missing, but I couldn't help it, we named Sirius Harry's godfather, and even though you're not with us, there's no one more deserving of the title of godmother than you.

I'm sorry for doing this without your consent, and I know it's unfair to Harry to have a godmother who isn't with him, but I can't think of anyone better. Besides, my faith hasn't faded, I know you'll be back someday.

Love, Lily.

Attached to the end of the letter was a small photo with a baby smiling at the camera with only one tooth peeking out. The baby's hair was so messy it looked like a mop, but it was really adorable. Wanda gulped as she remembered that this cuddly baby was her godchild, and although it was completely surprising, a sense of happiness came over her knowing that, indirectly, she now had a family to fight for.

Wanda.

I think I've given birth to a complete exhibitionist, this child can't keep his clothes on for a single second. Yesterday I was cooking and when I got distracted, he took off his diaper and started running around the house while openly laughing.

If you ask me, I think he does it intentionally.

I wish you could see him, he is so beautiful and adorable, I am sure when he grows up he will have a whole magical world at his disposal, I wish you were here with us.

Love, Lily.

Wanda wished it too, more than anything. She stopped struggling and immediately tears ran down her face again, feeling the bittersweet taste of combined emotions in her chest, because she wished she had known the little boy, she was sure Vision would have loved him completely.

Wanda.

Professor Dumbledore came and warned us about a prophecy, apparently Harry is destined to defeat you-know-who.

Can you believe that? Complete garbage. James and I openly refused, while Harry has demonstrated gigantic levels of power, he is a baby, we will not let him participate in this war, yet Dumbledore said that somehow you-know-who found out about the prophecy and when we demanded explanations he completely avoided the subject! I feel completely used.

Now we have to hide under a Fidelius charm so I won't be able to send any more letters. I know the future looks dark, but I know everything will be alright, I still have faith intact and I know that one day you will come back.

I hope the next letter I send will be one in which I announce to you the end of that psychopath, I look forward to that moment.

  Lily.

And that was the last one.

Wanda's breathing quickened as an uneasy feeling came over her. Although those letters answered her question about whether they had survived the BLIP, it made her wonder if it meant Lily was alive? And what about James, and little Harry? There was definitely something wrong and Wanda would find out.

She looked at the small map in her hands, though she had yet to give Vision the ending he deserved, her mind was made up, she had to find his friends and meet what looked like his little godson.

Taking a deep breath, she dialed a number she had promised she would never call.

"Hello?" The voice answered.

"Hi, Clint." She said, ignoring the feeling that she was getting the man in trouble, she knew he had a family and she didn't want to be a bother.

"Wanda!" He exclaimed happily. "How good it is to hear your voice."

"Same sentiment." She replied not too sincerely. "Listen, I need a favor."

"Straight to the point, I see." He laughed. "What do you need?"

Wanda sighed. "Information and a ticket to England."

 Godric Hallow-2023

'The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.'

Wanda looked at the graves in front of her with dead eyes. Lily and James were two people full of life, with goals and dreams to fulfill, they were both passionate and incredible and, unlike her, they were good people. She clenched her fists as she felt anger fill her again, why did things have to be that way? It was unfair, they didn't deserve that.

The weather didn't help with her mood either, the sun lit the place brightly while a gentle wind swept through the atmosphere, birds were singing and the church bells were ringing normally.

Normality.

How could people act normal when so many injustices were happening? Couldn't others open their eyes and see what was happening? Couldn't they see how innocent people, how people who didn't deserve to die just did? No one had compassion.

It was disgusting.

Wanda stared at the graves for hours, her mind going crazy with the sheer number of thoughts. Part of her wanted to wallow and cry until she was dehydrated, however, her other half wanted revenge, she was bloodthirsty and wanted to take down all those who hurt the ones she loved, she wanted to tear them apart and make each of them suffer, she wanted revenge.

"Did you know them?" An old woman asked as she approached her softly. Wanda nodded curtly and she looked at her sympathetically. "Just like me." She said and Wanda looked at her with interest. "Would you like some tea, dear?"

"You're inviting a stranger into your home?" Wanda asked with an arched eyebrow. "You know I could be lying, don't you?"

The old woman chuckled. "Of course, however I can see the pain in your eyes and no one can fake that." She said confidently. "You can call me Bathilda, my dear."

"Wanda." She said as she swallowed. "And I think I could accept tea."

"Of course, follow me." The old woman said and they both made their way to a small old looking house. Wanda looked at the place with interest as she saw the dusty armchairs, the worn pictures and the cat on the counter. Bathilda immediately went to the kitchen and pulled out two mugs. "What was your relationship with them?"

Wanda thought about it for a moment. "We were...friends." She finally answered.

"From Hogwarts I suppose?" Bathilda questioned as she handed him the tea and sat down on the couch next to him. "That's strange, they never mentioned you."

Wanda shook her head. "No, we met somewhere else."

"I guess that makes sense." The older woman admitted and they both lapsed into a slightly awkward silence.

"Do you know if-" Wanda took a deep breath before continuing. "Do you know if their deaths were quick at least? I vaguely know what happened but I don't have any details." She admitted. While Clint had been able to help her get a lot of information, the fact that it was magical in nature made it very vague, so there were a lot of holes as far as she was concerned.

"It was terrible, however, to their fortunes, they died a quick death." She assured her. "Though for some reason the Unspeakables didn't investigate, Dumbledore said it was an Avada Kedavra."

Wanda nodded absently, her mind thinking of the way the old woman spat out Dumbledore's name like it was dirt. "How did you-know-who die then?" She finally asked.

"Rumor has it that the curse bounced off little Harry." She said regretfully. "Poor little guy, having to see that from such a young age, I hope it doesn't affect him in the future."

Future?

"Excuse me?" Wanda looked at her with wide eyes. "What do you mean by future?"

Bathilda looked at her with confusion. "I mean the future, when the child grows up." She said with obviousness.

"You mean that he- that he survived?" Wanda asked hopefully. In the information she had been given there was nothing about Harry, so she assumed he had met the same fate as his parents.

"Of course dear, after all there is a reason why people call him 'the-boy-who-lived'" She said with a small smile that Wanda ignored, mentally she was bouncing with happiness to know that the little boy was alive, maybe fate wasn't so cruel after all?

"Where is he?" She asked anxiously. "Sirius has him?" because that was all she could think of, the man was Harry's godfather so it made sense that custody had passed to him, ignoring the voice in her head protesting at that.

The old woman's eyes grew distant. "I wish it were so, my dear." She said regretfully. "Sirius Black is in Azkaban, poor boy, I never thought he would be capable, can you believe it? He murdered 13 muggles, it was utterly appalling."

Wanda recoiled at that, she really didn't care enough about the man, the only thing she wondered was if Harry wasn't with Sirius, then who was he with? "Where is Harry then?" She asked.

"I'm afraid I can't tell you." She said sadly. "The boy's location is a secret and if I tell you he may be in danger, sorry dear."

'Make her!’ a voice in her mind growled.

"Please, James and Lily made me his godmother, it's my right to find him." She pleaded.

"There is no such thing as a godmother in the magical world." Bathilda pointed out. Exasperated, Wanda pulled the book out of her bag to show the old woman the evidence but was interrupted when she let out a loud scream. "Put that away!" she said as she stood up and tried to back away. "The darkest, most twisted magic." She said fearfully.

"Here's the proof!" Wanda looked at her in frustration. "Please, these are the letters Lily wrote to me, just look at them-"

"Lies!" The woman screamed, her chest rising and falling at an almost inhuman pace. "Lily would never have had an article as dark as that, don't lie child, I know you are."

'Make her!'

"I'm not lying!" Wanda growled and felt the magic begin to fill the place, she took a deep breath and looked at the terrified old woman. "I said, tell me where he is."

Immediately the woman's eyes turned red and Wanda felt her mind connect to hers. "Harry James Potter is at 4 Privet Drive, Survey." She said in a monotone voice.

"Why is he there?" she asked in return.

"That's the place of residence of Petunia Dursley, Lily Evans' sister." He replied, still as if she were a robot.

"Her sister?" Wanda asked in horror as memories of Petunia came to her mind. "Weren't there other options?"

"Well, there are rumors of certain remaining Potters in India, however they are just rumors, Dumbledore never took the task of verifying them." She admitted, a bit of her will seemed to have returned. "Besides along with Black in Azkaban, there really weren't many options left.

Wanda nodded as she stood up. "Thank you for the information, ma'am." She said sincerely, even knowing it wasn't given willingly. "However I'm afraid this has to remain a secret" Then she looked her straight in the eyes and used his power.

A few minutes later, there was no Wanda Maximoff information in Bathilda Bagshot's mind.

She landed on the polished lawn at 4 Privet Drive and looked at the small house in front of her. The small part inside her that screamed about how immoral what she was about to do was quickly quelled by the deep voice that reflected that, while an aunt had more inbred right than a godmother, Lily didn't even like Petunia, so she would never have wanted her little boy to stay with her.

Yes, that made all the sense in the world.

"You tore up the garden!" A very small voice exclaimed and Wanda looked at the little boy who had yelled at her. Despite his clearly malnourished state and glasses that were too big for his face along with his tattered clothes, she could recognize those eyes anywhere.

Lily.

Wanda opened her mouth to speak, maybe to introduce herself, maybe to apologize to the boy for ruining his garden, but all that came out of her mouth was a strangled sound making her sound like a strange animal. "I-I-"

"You have my eyes!" The boy pointed directly at her as he bared his small teeth in a grin.

Wanda swallowed as emotions churned in her stomach. "You have your mommy's eyes honey." She corrected as she knelt down so they were on the same level. "The most beautiful eyes I've ever seen."

The boy suddenly froze. "Mommy?" He asked. "Are you my mommy?"

"I-"

"BOY!"

The boy flinched and Wanda frowned as a look of panic came over his small features. Instinctively, she lifted him up and placed him on her hip, shielding him from the noise. The door to number 4 suddenly opened and a woman with a neck as long as a giraffe stepped out. "YOU!" She shouted and then her gaze landed on Harry. "Boy! Get away from her, she's a stranger!"

However, the boy instead of obeying her grabbed Wanda tighter as if he feared she would let go of him. "I'm no stranger, Petunia." She replied lightly. "Or have you forgotten that you're alive because of me?"

The woman glared at her before advancing sharply towards her and grabbing her by the elbow and pushing her towards the house. Wanda allowed it, only because she didn't want to make a scene and didn't want to scare the boy any more than he already was. "Vernon!" She yelled and a man as big as a whale appeared from the table.

"Who are you?!" he demanded.

"I'm here for Harry." She replied defiantly, the meeting was definitely going just as she imagined. "Harry?" She asked when she felt him tap her on the shoulder.

The kid looked at her with confusion. "I'm boy, not Harry."

Wanda frowned as she tried to push the anger away, it wasn't a good idea to explode with the kid so close. "Harry is the name your parents gave you, little man." She explained as she pushed his hair away from his forehead. "Harry Potter."

"Harry Potter" The kid repeated, trying it out for himself, and though it slipped a little with the r's, Wanda smiled proudly.

"That's you champion." She complimented. "Could you show me your room?"

The kid immediately shook his head and Wanda looked at Petunia in confusion. "What does that mean?" she asked dangerously.

Petunia raised her head haughtily and looked down her nose at her. "He's a dirtbag, he hasn't cleaned his room and he's ashamed for you to see it." She said smugly, however, Wanda didn't believe her.

"Where is his room?" She repeated and red magic swirled in her hand. Petunia, remembering what Wanda had done so many years before, turned as white as the sheet and shakily pointed to the cupboard. The cupboard under the stairs.

Oh. They didn’t, did they?

'They did, finish them off!' the recursive voice growled.

Wanda felt the possessive feeling take root inside her and growled at the thought of those monsters having hurt her child, if they had done it, they were going to pay.

And since when had he become her child?

"Tell me you didn't it." Wanda whispered. "TELL ME!"

"We didn't want to have him!" Petunia retorted. "We were practically forced by that idiot in the ridiculous robes, we are innocent in this, we never meant for any of this to happen."

'Innocent my ass, kill them.'

"You- " Wanda took a deep breath. "You abused your sister's child?" she asked in horror. "What a wretch Petunia, you disgust me." Vernon immediately began to scream and Wanda silenced him with a glare. "You are the most disgusting people I have ever seen, ABUSE YOUR OWN NEPHEW?!!!" She closed her eyes and counted to 10. "That's it, he's coming with me."

"You can't take him!" Petunia shouted. "One of the wizards said he'd be exposed without us, you'll put him at risk!." She pointed out. "Plus you don't even know him well enough! Lily and her stupid boyfriend only went out with you and your freaky robot for a couple of days, she would never have made a dead woman godmother to her child, much less if she didn't know that woman well enough, there's no way they bonded that fast, Lily would never do something that stupid."

'No! Lies! Mine, my baby, my kid, my boy, mine!' She mentally growled

"You didn't even know your sister well so you're not one to talk to, Petunia." She spat, enjoying her shudder. "I assure you he is safer with me than with anyone else in the world." Wanda retorted. "Besides he's in enough danger with you, at the rate you were going you'd probably starve him to death."

'He won't die. He deserves to be treated like a king.'

"Lies!" Vernon shouted and she couldn't help but notice the vein in his forehead looked like it was about to pop. "The brat was fine with us, we gave him everything he needed! Little ungrateful frea-"

"What did you call him?" Wanda interrupted as she pinned the man with her gaze, she could feel the boy's sobs at her waist had worsened and that made her anger at Vernon increase tenfold. "I said, what did you call him?" She hissed as the man in front of her remained silent.

Vernon mumbled something to quite for her to hear before recomposing himself and looking at Wanda with defiance. "Freak, that's what he is." He replied dismissively. "Just like his parents! I don't know how Pet is related to that pack of strange beings that infringe on nature, we should never have accepted the brat and his freakiness, he should have died along with the freaks they called his parents and go to hel-" His tirade was interrupted by the fountaining sound of an explosion and suddenly blood and organs flew everywhere, the walls of the small room were covered with a viscous red liquid as small droplets splattered on the furniture. The boxes swayed as the carpet absorbed all the liquid that dripped down, even her own dress was full of blood.

It looked like a scene from the horror movies she and Pietro secretly watched when they were children. The amount of blood all over the place was disgusting, it was a downright macabre. The worst part was that Wanda didn't regret it one bit. As far as she was concerned Vernon Dursley was a child molester who disrespected the memory of her dead friends, in fact she was sure she was too merciful to give him such a quick death. The man should have died in agony for what he did.

Her breath hitched as she heard Petunia's screams of horror and, without thinking, her magic reacted, preventing Petunia from making those terrible noises any more. The woman, seeing the situation she was in, began breathing heavily, looking around frantically until her lungs gave out and collapsed onto the rug, covering herself with the blood of her husband.

Wanda swallowed as she slowly brought her gaze to the boy clinging to her who conveniently had pulled his head from her shoulder and stared at the scene with wide eyes. She had expected to see fear, to see judgment, terror, any negative emotion, after all she had overstepped her bounds, she had killed a man in cold blood in the presence of a child, her little boy, just as a monster would. However, she did not expect that, suddenly, the child would start cheering as he shouted "Again, again!"

Unbeknownst to her, her eyes that had once turned red, returned to their natural green color and she looked at Harry adoringly. "Did you enjoy the show little one?" she asked. The boy smiled before babbling and, at the turn of events, Wanda simply smiled.

Now that the boy was safe with her, she could move on to the next phase of her plan. She pulled out the map Vision had made for her and looked at it longingly.

Soon they would be together again, but this time, as a real family.

An almost devilishly shaped crown materialized on her head as her dress turned scarlet red. Wanda never noticed though, her attention was on the place marked on the map.

"It's time to go home." She said to the kid who was beginning to yawn.

"Westview, New Jersey."

3 months later..

"It's impossible!" Monica Rambeau growled in frustration. "We've tried 1000 different ways and none of them have worked, we haven't been able to communicate with Wanda on the inside either."

Doctor Strange looked at her with an arched eyebrow. "And you waited what, 3 months to ask for professional help?" He asked sarcastically. "It's the supreme sorcerer's duty to take care of this sort of thing, you should have called it in the moment you found out."

Wong snorted. "You're not even the sorcerer supreme, Stephen." He scoffed. "Don't worry ma'am, we'll work this out." He gave her a reassuring nod before moving his hands in a complicated pattern and opening a large orange portal.

Personally, Monica didn't think it would be easy; at first she had believed she could infiltrate the hex and simply talk to Wanda and convince her that the things she was doing were wrong, however, not only had she failed miserably, she had nearly been fired for her multiple failures. That was why she had decided to take a chance and contact the famous 'Sorcerer Supreme' She hoped that they could help Wanda come to her senses, and, maybe and just maybe, convince the government to drop the charges against her.

After all you didn't just murder a man in cold blood, kidnap a child and manipulate thousands of people and get away with it.

Deep down, Monica didn't blame her. Of course, she didn't justify her actions, she knew what Wanda had done was wrong and illegal, however, that didn't stop her from sympathizing with the poor woman who had had misfortune after misfortune since she was a child. She hoped it was all a misunderstanding and the consequences would be commensurate with the facts.

Besides, she was sure there was something deeper, something darker in all of this. Why would someone like Wanda Maximoff believe that her relationship with Lily Potter was close enough to make her godmother to her baby when she was dead? It was completely impossible and she knew that if the wizarding community found out that their savior was kidnapped and not lost, a war would break out soon.

"Are you coming?" Dr Strange asked as he inclined his head toward the doorway. Monica Jerked her head in surprise, she completely forgot he was there. She quickly moved forward and stepped into the portal.

She had to cover her eyes in the bright sunlight - and why was there sun if it was night? - pierced her eyes. She removed her hand from her face and quickly blinked to get used to the bright light.

Being inside the Hex certainly wasn't what she expected, for some reason Monica expected chaos, she expected some giant castle, she expected something strange, yet everything was completely normal. The sunlight was shining naturally, the air was decidedly clean, the trees were dropping leaves on the ground, the people around greeted the three of them naturally.

It was completely normal.

And that really disturbed her. These people had been in captivity for 3 months and there was no way they weren't going hungry or suffering from any of the other basic necessities, after all the hex had never been opened so there was no way they could have gotten resources to survive.

However, it looked like they had somehow.

"This place looks normal." Wong stated after waving to a passing blonde woman. "Let's get the kid back, find Miss Maximoff and it'll be problem solved."

"I can feel her magical signature." Strange frowned as he closed his eyes. "In that direction." He said, and pointed to a normal looking house a few feet away. Wong and she nodded and quickly crossed the road to the spot, where the three found a black-haired woman reading a newspaper with a large headline that read 'Boy-Who-Lived Missing!'

"Excuse me." Monica spoke up. "Good afternoon" She said uncertainly, not knowing how to refer to someone who was supposedly in captivity.

The woman looked up from the paper and smiled at her. "Hello there dear." She shifted her gaze to Wong and then to Strange and Monica couldn't help but notice the small recognition in her eyes. "My name is Agnes, how can I help you?"

Monica smiled kindly. "I'm Captain Rambeau, we're looking for Wanda Maximoff, do you know where she lives?"

The woman let out a laugh that made her skin crawl, it was honestly chilling. "Ah, dear Wanda, how could I not know her?" She asked wryly. "She's quite the celebrity here, her house is next door."

Before Monica could form a response, Wong spoke up, "Thank you ma'am." And then he took her arm and pulled her away from her.

"I hope you find her!" Agnes shouted in the distance. "Or maybe not." She added almost inaudibly, making her shudder.

"Do you think Wanda is controlling their minds?" Monica asked them uneasily. "She was certainly... strange."

Dr Strange immediately shook his head. "No." He said. "That woman is a witch, darkness comes out of her in droves, it's best to stay away from them."

Monica gulped and pulled her gun from her belt, holding it steady in her hand as the three of them looked at the house in front of them, it looked completely ordinary and normal, yet there was something that just didn't feel right, it didn't feel right.

"Alright, here's the plan, you-" Whatever Strange was about to say was interrupted by a blue blur that passed by at inhuman speed making her jolt. She clenched her hand ready to fire when she noticed his gun was gone.

"What-"

"That took my ring" Wong and Strange stated at the same time as they tried to spot the thief. Maria's breath hitched as she realized they were now trapped in place, damn her stubbornness, she should have accepted the backup Hayward offered.

"Well, well, look what the cat dragged in." A voice spoke and the three looked up at a brown haired teenager who was dressed in a ridiculous red cape. The boy looked no older than 15, but his posture and aura screamed danger. "Looks like someone is looking for trouble."

Suddenly the blue blur appeared in the form of another rather similar teenager, however, this one had blond hair and slightly more defined cheekbones. "Don't be so hard on them bro, they brought new toys." He said with a cocky grin as he twirled his gun and the rings in his hands.

"You don't know what you're doing, kid." Strange spoke in warning. "Give that back to me and there won’t be consequences."

"Consequences?" The two boys stared at each other until they both burst out laughing. Maria could only watch the scene uneasily, there was something about the two boys that felt familiar, something strange.

"We can settle this peacefully." Wong spoke calmly. "There is no reason for hostility here."

The teens seemed to think so until the brown-haired one sighed. "Well, what do you want?"

"We're looking for two people." Maria explained. "Wanda Maximoff and Harry Potter, have you seen them?"

"Maybe you should ask him yourself." A voice spoke behind them and Maria gasped as she found herself looking into the brightest green eyes she had ever seen. The person was quite tall and had messy jet hair that fell everywhere, his body was slightly muscular and his jaw was strongly defined. However, his most important feature was the lightning-shaped scar on his forehead.

The same scar that Harry Potter had.

But it was impossible that this was him. Harry Potter was 3 years old, while the person in front of them looked about 18. Nevertheless, her mind couldn't help but connect the features that were known about the boy with those of the boy in front of her, maybe it was a simple coincidence? She hoped it was.

"Aunt Agatha said someone is causing trouble around here." He said as he pierced them with his gaze. Instantly, the other two boys stood beside him, a few steps behind him. Monica raised her eyebrows impressed at the level of trust they had for each other, that was definitely a team protective stance. "Why are you looking for me and my mother?" He asked with interest, though it sounded more like a demand.

"We're looking for Wanda Maximoff and Harry Potter" Wong repeated. "I don't know who you are but I assure you we don't want any trouble."

"I am Harry Potter." The green-eyed boy declared with boredom.

"Impossible." Strange whispered.

"Sure." He scoffed. "Whatever, father will be worried if the dwarves aren't home before dark, so with your permission, gentlemen, lady, we'll take our leave." He said as he made his way to the door and ignored the protests of his - brothers? Maybe? -

"Wait!" Monica called and this 'Harry' turned and looked at her questioningly. "James Potter has been dead for 2 years, if you really have a father, there's no way you're the Harry we're looking for."

The now fake Harry chuckled. "Ma'am, I don't know who James Potter is, my father is Vision."

What?

"Did you say- Vision?" Wong asked with concern.

The boy nodded and looked at them like they were idiots. "Vision has been dead for five years." Strange pointed out.

The boy's eyes darkened slightly at that. "That was a mistake." He said with a clenched jaw. "However, mother was able to fix it, I assure you father is safe and sound."

Wong shuddered. "Just what I was afraid of" He said as he buried his face in his hands. "Chaos magic."

"What?" everyone, including the teenagers, asked at the same time.

"Don't you see?" Wong asked. "I thought the Hex was a simple barrier, you know, like a shield, but now I see it's much more than that, the clues told us all along." He said regretfully. "People are being controlled, time works differently, somehow Vision is alive and now Miss Maximoff had two children." He explained as he pointed to the slightly shorter boys, and Maria mentally patted herself for not connecting the dots sooner, the resemblance the children bore to their mother was completely noticeable. "This is the most dangerous magic ever created, if anyone uses it it could end in the extinction of everything we know." He said grimly.

"I don't know what you smoked but I want one of those." The blond spoke and the three boys laughed as if it was an inside joke.

"This is no joke kid!" Wong shouted and Monica looked at him wide eyed, even though she had known him for a few hours the wizard was generally calm and unflappable, if what he said was true then the problem was much bigger than they imagined.

"If you speak to him like that again it will be the last thing you ever do." The boy - Harry Potter - threatened , his green eyes flashing in warning. "My patience is gone, you have 10 seconds to leave our house, if you come in again you will not be greeted in the same way."

"I'm afraid that's not possible, boy." Strange said as he waved his hands and two large orange shields formed, beside him Wong did the same. "We are looking for Wanda Maximoff and we will not leave without her, if you know where she is, hand her over peacefully, if you don't then there will be consequences, this is your only warning."

The three boys arched their eyebrows in agreement before a defiant smile formed on their faces. "Very well." He said and suddenly all the air in the place changed becoming heavy and suffocating, the sky suddenly darkened and green and red colored smoke began to cover them, Monica took one last look at the teenager and shuddered as the last thing she saw was a murderous glint in his eyes.

"Let's play then."
