With each graceful spin Regulus felt the well of emotion rise within him, his heart practically beating out of his chest. Despite his noticeable injury, the determination and passion his skating held was potent enough to carry him through the complicated combinations while captivating an entire audience. __________________ Regulus Black, a renowned figure skater, moves to Detroit’s homerink with the help of his sponsors to train under the retired legend Victor Nikiforov after an altercation with his family over the future of his career. Chapter 1

Read this if you want to understand some parts of the story:

ISU is the International Skating Union. There are many major ice skating competitions but the one we're focusing is the Grand Prix Series. There's the Juniors division and Seniors division, Woman's and Men's. Grand Prix in simple words: best from each season chosen, best ones compete internationally in Grand Prix events, only six qualify to compete in the Final event.  In competitions you have to do 2 performances: the short program and the Free Skate and they score you based on jumps, how fancy your feet move (step sequences), and artistic shite. To debut in the Juniors division you need to be 13 (but we’re lowering the age to 11 for the sake of this fic) and to debut in Seniors you need to be at least 15 (but most don’t really debut at that age).

Also: this is the kiss and cry

Where skaters sit to receive their scores (fitting name, right?)

Here’s a fun little video: Its awesome I swear
