Chapter 5
The next day, Ally was reading in the common room again when there was a knock at the door. She closed her book, set it on the table, and quickly walked to open the door. There stood Ron and Luna, Ron holding Ally’s cloak. She had forgot about it up until now.
“Hi.” Ally chirped. “Hi. I just wanted to return your cloak. Thanks for lending it to me.” Ron held out the cloak. Ally took it from him tentatively. “Don’t worry,” Luna smiled. “I made him wash it.” Ally smiled back. “Well, umm, thanks.” They stood in silence for a few moments before Ally nodded and started to close the door. “Wait!” Luna shoved her hand Inbetween the door and the frame. Ally pushed the door open again. “Would you like to maybe come walk around with us?” Luna asked. “A small group of us are meeting up to tour the castle before lunch.” Ally thought for a moment. “Please?” Ron smiled. Ally looked at the two of them. “Okay. Sure. Just let me put this away.” Ally smiled back and shut the door. She grabbed her book and bolted upstairs to put the cloak and book on her bed. She quickly ran back down and flung the door open. Ally stepped out and closed it. “Ready?” Ally nodded.
Luna and Ron led the way up the stairs and into the Great Hall. A few students were sitting on the middle of the Gryffindor table. Luna and Ron waved hello to them as they walked over and sat down across from each other. Ally followed and sat down awkwardly next to Luna. “Hey guys, this is Ally.” Ron introduced her. Luna pointed out each person as she named them. “Ally, this is Harry, Willow, Hermione, Fred, and George Fred and George are Ron’s older brothers. They’re going to show us around.” The Weasley twins waved. Hermione smiled at Ally. “Are you the one that pulled Ron out of the lake when he fell in?” Ron turned tomato red. Ally chuckled. “Well, yes.”
Luna proceeded to explain to Ally how they had all met. “I’m good friends with Willow, and Harry met Ron on the train ride to Hogwarts. My family is in the Weasley’s family’s circle. I also know Hermione.” Ally nodded. “I….don’t know any of you.” Willow snorted as the rest giggled. “But it’s lovely to meet you all.”
“Lovely to meet you, too.” Hermione stated. The small group spent the rest of the morning and part of the afternoon exploring the castle. Fred and George paraded around the school, Fred naming the different classes and rooms while George went on to explain them. The two added joke after joke throughout the tour, leaving the 1st years red in the face from laughing. When they got back to the Great Hall, Ally was sad to part with them for lunch. She wasn’t the only one, since Willow and Luna also had to part with the group. They said their goodbyes and made plans to meet up later in the day. Ally sat down at the Slytherin table and happily made a plate.
