Chapter 1

The quiet hum of rain against the window set the mood for one of their rare evenings at home. Clarke was sprawled on the couch, her head resting in Lexa’s lap, absentmindedly scrolling through her phone. Lexa, ever the bookworm, was reading a historical novel, her fingers occasionally brushing through Clarke’s hair.

“You ever think about having kids?” Clarke asked suddenly, breaking the silence.

Lexa’s fingers paused mid-stroke. She set her book down, marking her place with precision before looking at Clarke, whose eyes were fixed on the ceiling. “What brought this up?”

Clarke shrugged, though the faint pink tinge on her cheeks betrayed her casual tone. “I don’t know. I guess I was just thinking... we’re happy, and I love what we’ve built. But I can’t help wondering what it’d be like to grow that, to have someone who’s part you and part me.”

Lexa tilted her head, her green eyes softening. “You’ve been thinking about this for a while, haven’t you?”

Clarke bit her lip, then nodded. “Yeah. But I didn’t want to pressure you. I know how much you love your routine, your quiet mornings with coffee and books, your perfectly planned days...”

Lexa chuckled softly, her hand resuming its path through Clarke’s golden curls. “You think a baby would ruin my routine?”

Clarke propped herself up on one elbow to look at her wife, her expression sheepish. “Well, yeah. Babies are chaos incarnate, and you married me, the queen of chaos. Adding a tiny human into the mix seems... overwhelming.”

Lexa’s lips twitched into a smile. “True, but I think I’ve gotten rather good at managing chaos. And for the record,” she said, leaning down to brush a kiss against Clarke’s forehead, “I’ve been thinking about it too.”

    Clarke’s eyes widened. “You have?”

Lexa nodded, her smile growing. “You’d be an incredible mom, Clarke. And the idea of raising a child with you, of seeing them grow up with your creativity and resilience... it’s a dream I didn’t realize I had until you.”

Clarke blinked rapidly, her throat tightening. “God, Lex. You’re gonna make me cry.”

Lexa laughed, pulling Clarke into a tight embrace. “Then it’s settled?”

Clarke sniffled, her smile wide and teary. “Yeah. Let’s do it.”

---

The weeks that followed were a whirlwind of doctor’s appointments, quiet discussions, and whispered plans. Clarke was the one to carry the baby, a decision that made sense given her flexible work as an artist.

“Your fans are going to riot when they find out,” Raven had joked during a dinner at their apartment.

“Good,” Clarke had said, grinning mischievously. “Let them riot. But not until we’re ready.”

Lexa had raised a brow at her wife. “Are you implying we’re going to keep this a secret for months?”

“Absolutely,” Clarke replied. “The drama will be worth it.”

Lexa rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide her amusement. “You’re incorrigible.”

Despite their decision to keep things private, their social media remained as active as ever.

Clarke posted her usual chaotic content: photos of her half-finished paintings, candid shots of Lexa reading (“Look at my wife, isn’t she gorgeous?”), and the occasional blurry image of their cat knocking over her paint supplies.

Lexa’s posts were, as always, a stark contrast: eloquent captions paired with perfectly framed photos of their life together. Fans loved the dichotomy, often commenting on how Lexa had grown even more poetic since their marriage.

@darkromancequeen: “She’s gone FULL romantic nerd, and I’m here for it. Clarke is rubbing off on her.”

@chaoticfangirl: “The way Lexa writes about Clarke makes me want to cry and throw up at the same time. Goals.”

@ravensnarks: “It’s disgusting how perfect they are, and I’m disgustingly invested.”

---

Five months into the pregnancy, after a successful second ultrasound, Clarke and Lexa stood in their bedroom, staring at the mirror.

Clarke’s belly had began to show at three months of pregnancy, now at 5 months, her belly was rounder though not too obvious when she was wearing a loose blouse. “Okay, this is kind of surreal,” she said, holding the ultrasound photo in one hand and her phone in the other.

Lexa stepped behind her, wrapping her arms around Clarke’s waist and resting her hands on her belly. “It’s more than surreal. It’s miraculous,” she murmured, her voice filled with wonder.

Clarke leaned back against her wife, her smile soft. “You’re such a sap.”

“And you love it,” Lexa replied, pressing a kiss to Clarke’s temple.

They spent a few minutes adjusting their poses, trying to get the perfect shot. Finally, they settled on one: Clarke holding the ultrasound picture in one hand and the phone in the other, while Lexa’s hands cradled Clarke’s belly protectively.

Clarke hit “Post” without hesitation, adding the caption:

“Our next masterpiece is in the making.”
Within minutes, the comment section exploded.

@darkromancequeen: “WAIT. WAIT. WAIT. IS THIS REAL?!”

@chaoticfangirl: “Clarke and Lexa are having a baby. I’m screaming. Someone hold me.”

@ravensnarks: “Of course their baby is already being called a masterpiece. Typical.”

@anya.thehotmilitary: “They’re multiplying. God help us all.”

The comment sections were a mix of shock, joy, and unfiltered chaos. Fans analyzed every detail of the photo, from the way Lexa’s hand rested on Clarke’s belly to the ultrasound picture Clarke held proudly.

One fan summed it up perfectly:

“The Woods-Griffin baby is already an icon, and they haven’t even been born yet.”

---

Later that evening, Clarke and Lexa curled up on the couch, scrolling through the flood of comments.

“You realize we just broke the internet, right?” Clarke said, grinning.

Lexa chuckled, pulling Clarke closer. “It seems our chaos continues to captivate.”

Clarke rested her hand on her belly, her expression softening. “They’re already so loved.”

“They always will be,” Lexa said firmly, placing her hand over Clarke’s.

As they sat together, their future felt as bright and boundless as the love they shared—a love that was growing every day, just like their family.
