Somethin from the heart. If all else fails anythin' with four legs.

Charlie

“I still don’t understand what Percy was on about during Mum’s birthday.” Charlie took a sip of his beer. He was in London to get his potions and ointments for his legs. Bill asked him to dinner. Harry was busy. During Yule and Christmas, they had a festival every weekend. It was the last attraction they did before they closed the zoo for winter. Few people would visit during the winter and it gave them time to update and maintain.

“It’s Percy. He normally has a wand stuck up his arse, but recently he has been worse. You were right about his boss, or I should say, his former boss. He used Percy, and when he moved up, he promised Percy that he would move with him. Of course, Percy gloated and told everyone, and it slipped that they had an affair. The man’s pure-blood Father found out and was threatened to be disowned. His boss retaliated and demoted him.” Charlie wanted to feel bad about his younger brother, but he pissed him off. Maybe this taught Percy to be more humble.

“Then he should have kept his mouth shut. Harry just wants to be himself. That is what he has always been. That is why his dad took him away from the situation.” Charlie slammed down his beer. Bill smirked at him. His brother drove him crazy.

“It’s nice to see you like this. You love him. Wow, you love him. That is great Charlie, I didn’t think I would ever see you this happy again. Don’t worry about Percy. I will talk to him.” He. Wouldn’t worry about Percy. He had other things to worry about. He had to get his limbs healed. He hid them from Harry and he hated doing so. Harry hid nothing from him. Harry is too sweet, too amazing to be lied to and things hidden from.

“You act as if I am so bad. I’m done talking about myself. Tell me how my niece and nephew are doing.” Charlie changed the subject. He loves Harry, he wants to be the man Harry wants and needs. Charlie already feels like he isn't because of his damn legs.

Barnaby

“Harry, do you think this looks okay?” Barnaby flicked his wand to move the fairy lights over the bridge. They have been working at the zoo since this morning. Winter holiday decorating. Barnaby couldn’t wait to help with it. He loved all the time he was spending with Harry. He wanted to adopt him. Barnaby knew he was an adult, but he would not have any kids of his own. He was okay with that. He had his Ruby and Harry. Christmas he was going to ask on Christmas. Ruby said that Harry would love it, but Barnaby was nervous.

“It looks great! I think we should make them twinkle. It would reflect off the water and it would make it look like dancing.” The younger wizard smiled at him. “So, have you picked out what you are getting my dad?” Harry asked as he strung lights on the trees around the water.

Of course, Barnaby has picked out the perfect gift for his Ruby. The half-giant gave him hints he wanted. His Ruby will have what he wants always!

“Yes, I have it all figured out.” Barnaby conjured a thermos. It was cold today and they deserve a quick coco break. He waved Harry over and poured them both a cup.

“Let me guess, it is a living thing. It’s always a living thing with my dad… Well, and me too, but I told Charlie that we didn’t have to go all out with presents. I haven’t found out what I’m getting him yet.” Harry knew his dad, and it made Barnaby smile. They are a lot like Harry and his Ruby. He wished that his own father treated him as well as Ruby did with Harry.

“It is living, but it is so cute, so I had to get it. I have it easy. Ruby told me what he might like. I didn’t tell him anything. I have him and you, so I don’t know what else I could want or need. I have the family I’ve always wanted.” Barnaby shrugged but was almost tackled by his soon-to-be adoptive son.

“I can’t wait till you marry Dad! I know we are already family, but the wedding makes it harder for you to leave!” Harry laughed out before he squeezed Barnaby harder.

“You don’t know how much that means to me. Don’t worry, you are stuck with me.” He kissed Harry on both of his cheeks. Tears threatened to fall, but he smiled through them.

Hagrid

Hagrid was hiding from his family. He didn’t want to hide from his family, but he always hated holidays. No, he didn’t hate the actual holiday he hated when he had to keep things a secret. Like the fact, his fiancé wanted to adopt his son. The big one is the reason he is going through the floo to London.

Hagrid could buy what he wanted for his fiancé at home, but he was afraid that other people would see him buy it and tell his sweet Barnaby. He stepped out of the floo into the Leaky Cauldron. The half-giant took a deep breath. It wasn’t like he didn’t go to London. He felt sometimes people watched him. They hate he took their savior away.

“Hagrid!” A voice pulled him out of his thoughts. He looked toward the voice and saw two redheads smiling at him. They were the oldest Wesley kids. Harry said that Charlie was going to see his brother today.

“Charlie, Bill, it’s good to see ya.” Hagrid walked over to their table and shook the oldest sibling’s hand.

“It’s good to see you. I hear your son is dating my little brother.” Bill teased Charlie. Hagrid chuckled and patted the younger redhead’s shoulder.

“Ya, they are pretty inseparable. He is actually with my fiancé, Barnaby, putting up decorations. It gives me time to go get Barnaby’s present. Actually, I wouldn’t mind some help when you are done, Charlie. I mean, if ya have nothing else to do.” Hagrid pushed his hands in his pockets. He didn’t think that Charlie was going anywhere and it would be good for him to spend more time with Harry’s boyfriend.

Charlie nodded up at him. “Sure Hagrid. Bill and I are finished. He has to go back to work.” Bill smiled and put some coins down on the table.

“It was good to see you, Hagrid. Charlie, I'll see you on Christmas eve.” They both stood up and hugged each other before Bill walked away.

“What do you want to get, Barnaby?” Charlie asked as they walked out of the pub. Hagrid knew what he wanted to get him. He just needed to pick the best one.

“I wanna get him an engagement ring. He has been workin hard on the wedding and I just wanna show him how much I love him, and thank him for doin' all the hard work.” Hagrid felt himself blush. He didn’t think he would ever buy an engagement ring. Charlie nodded. The man. hardly smiled, but Hagrid spent enough time with the younger man to know his facial expressions.

“I think that is a good idea. I don’t know how much help I will be but.” The red-head shrugged. Hagrid slapped the smaller man’s back, which made him stumble.

They both walked into Gorgeous Gems and jewelry. An older man was hunched over the display case. The shop was small and Hagrid felt like a bull in a china shop. Charlie patted his shoulder, giving him some reassurance.

The older man looked up with a smile. “How may I help you gentleman today?”

“This guy here is looking for an engagement ring.” Charlie pointed at him with a smirk. “The man he is buying for is the second sweetest man I’ve ever met.”

Hagrid chuckled, thankful for the help. “He is beautiful, happy, and the best man I’ve ever met.”

The shop owner laughed. “Perfect. Does he work with his hands?” Hagrid shook his head. “Okay then, look over here.”

It took two minutes for Hagrid to see the perfect ring. He pointed at it, and Charlie agreed. It was perfect for his Barnaby.

With the ring in his pocket, Hagrid and Charlie walked back towards The Leaky Cauldron. Charlie seemed like he had something he needed to talk about.

“Hagrid, do you know what I should get, Harry? What do I get someone who has everything?” The red-head ran his fingers through his hair.

“Somethin from the heart. If all else fails anythin with four legs. He is a lot like me. He isn’t picky, Charlie.” Hagrid knew how Charlie felt. “I believe we are feelin the same thing right now, Charlie. But our men will love us no matter what.”

Harry

Harry stumbled onto the snow-covered ground. The sanctuary looked even more beautiful during winter. He would have to make Charlie come back here after the holidays.

“Harry! Good to see you again.” Brock greeted, his hand held out. Harry took it and was pulled up quickly.

“It’s good to see you. Thank you for helping me out with this! I have been trying to figure out what I was going to give Charlie. Then when you told me about this, I knew it was what he needed!” Harry beamed up at the dragon trainer, who nodded to him.

“Of course it is! If you wanna follow me, I can take you over to the office. I heard Charlie was here earlier. I didn’t get to see him. They said he didn’t stay long.” Harry frowned. He wondered why his boyfriend came here. Not that it was all that strange he used to work here. He was probably seeing friends or something.

“From what I heard, it might be a surprise for a certain someone.” Brock winked at him, which made Harry feel a lot better. A surprise is a good thing right, there are no unpleasant surprises.

“Oh well, I promise I won’t say a thing, though I need to hurry and get back before nightly feedings.” Harry smiled and tried to hurry the man along. He knew Charlie would look for him and he didn’t want to hide where he was from Charlie.

“Of course! Follow me.” Brock slapped his back and ushered them toward the office.

Harry hoped that this present would make Charlie happy. If he could just help his grumpy bear even a little bit, it would be worth it.
