Do I have to have a talk with him? He can’t hurt my son.

Charlie

“Oh, Charlie! I knew you would find someone in America! Tell me about this man who has stolen my Charlie’s heart.” He wanted to roll his eyes at his mother, but he didn’t.

“Mum, please, I really need that recipe. I don't know if I am going to make it, but I have to try! It’s the one pudding that he likes that isn’t American!” Charlie raised his voice, running his fingers through his hair. The birthday needed to be perfect. His little pixy deserved everything. Charlie still doesn’t understand why Harry is with him, anyway.

“Oh dear, you must really like him. Let me gather all the ingredients and I will come through and we will make one together and then you will be ready for your date.” His mum said sweetly.

Charlie sighed. “Thanks, Mum, I’ll see you soon.” Charlie maneuvered to make his way up when there was a knock on the door. He made his way over to the door, wondering who was there. Harry was in town today. Thankfully, it gave him time to get with his mum without the younger man finding out.

When he opened the door, there stood Harry with a big smile on his face.

“Hi, Bear!” Harry pulled him down into a chaste kiss. Charlie returned the kiss and closed his door. The last thing he needed was his mum walking through the floo and them meeting. He couldn’t do that to Harry yet.

“Hi, little pixy. I thought you were going into town today?” Harry tilted his head with a concerned look on his face. Charlie hated that look on his face, so he tried to grin at him.

“I was about to leave. I just wanted to come to see you before I do. Everything okay?” Charlie nodded too quickly.

“Yep, everything is fine. I am actually working on something. I’ll be over later tonight if you want me to?” He knew he sounded off. Harry was going to know something was up.

“Yeah… sure, Charlie. I’ll see you later.” Charlie leaned down and kissed him. Harry kissed him back, but the smaller man seemed tense.

Harry pulled away and walked off his porch. Shit, this better be the best birthday, so he doesn’t have to see that look on his face anymore.

When he walked into his cabin, it was just in time. His mum walked out of the floo with her arms full.

“Okay dear, we are ready!” She said cheerily, her arms full of ingredients.

“Yes. As ready as ever.” Charlie grumbled. This was important, but he didn’t need to feel this nervous.

His mum looked at him with her eyebrow raised. “Charles Weasley… What is going on with you? This is more than the treacle tart. Talk to me.” She pulled them over to the couch. Charlie went without a fight.

Charlie grunted as he sat down. His body wasn’t happy with him, his prosthetics were bothering him. He was close to having enough to get his new ones.

“It’s nothing Mum. it’s just his birthday and the treacle tart is his favorite. I do like him a lot, but it still is new. I want him to see someone besides an arsehole.” Charlie wouldn’t tell his mum that he was in pain. He misses his old but not as much, and that he possibly loves Harry.

The older witch cupped his cheeks and kissed his forehead. “You are not an arsehole. You are my quiet protector. I don’t know him, but I know that is what he sees in you. You just need to see it too. Now there is much to do.”

Harry

“Okay, who are you, and where is Harry?” Barnaby asked him. Harry was leaning on the counter at Barnaby’s store. The older wizard was wearing a bright yellow polka-dot bowtie today.

“I don’t know, just having an off day, I guess. So Dad is still not helping with the wedding?” Harry asked. Barnaby asked him to help, but his dad said whatever Barnaby wanted is what he wanted.

“Oh, Harry!” Barnaby threw his hands in the air dramatically. “You know that man, but he is so sweet. I want him to be happy with this wedding. I found the perfect place at the Zoo where I want the ceremony. I want to have it by the red owlery barn. In the Spring, of course.”

“Sounds like Dad. I’m so glad you guys are getting married. I couldn’t have picked a better person for him. The owlery barn would be perfect in the spring!” Harry was a little jealous. He thought he felt that with Charlie. Everything was going so well with the redhead. That was until today. Charlie was acting too weird today. What if he didn’t want him anymore?

Barnaby walks around the counter and pulls him into a hug. He is even shorter than Harry. “Oh, Harry! I love you! I’m so glad that you are in my life as well!” Harry closes his eyes and sighs. He needed a hug.

“Now tell me how everything is going with Charlie?” Barnaby asked when he pulled away. Harry shrugged, and the smaller man glared at him.

“What does that shrug mean? Do I have to have a talk with him? He can’t hurt my son.” Harry felt his heart grow. Barnaby is too good.

“Charlie was acting weird this morning, actually it’s been the past couple of days.” As he said that, his dad walked in.

“Ruby, good thing you are here! Charlie is treating our Harry badly!” Barnaby stormed over to the half-giant with his hands on his hips. “He has been acting weird, our son deserves better!” Hagrid bent down and kissed the feisty wizard.

Harry’s dad looked over at him with a smile. “Don’t be worried Harry. Charlie has somethin’ special planned for ya birthday.” The half-giant grimace. “I shouldn’t have told ya that. It just he wanted to do somethin’ special for ya.” His dad blushed when Barnaby wrapped his arms around the half-giant's middle.

Harry sighed, and pulled himself up on the counter. Thank gods it wasn’t something else.

“Aww, Ruby! You kept that for a while, huh? I’m proud of you. Normally you tell me everything. Even before we got together!” Harry turned his head to give them privacy. Barnaby didn’t have any issues showing Harry’s dad how much he cared for him.

“Thanks, love, can we take you to lunch now? I’m starvin, you were gone before breakfast and Harry slept in. All I had was my cauldron cakes, and ya know how those normally turn out.” Harry laughed out loud. His dad’s cauldron cakes are more like rocks. Poor guy, he couldn’t bake even though Harry has tried to teach him many times.

“Absolutely. Come on Harry, we can’t forget our son!” Harry’s heart shouldn’t feel so full when he hears that. There is only one person missing.

Charlie

Charlie groaned as he took his sleeves off his legs. He pushed himself too much today, his brain wouldn’t shut off. All he could think of was the premonition. Could it be changed? He didn’t want it to change. Charlie wanted to go back to see if could know more. Like when he would propose? When are they going to have their first child?

That’s what scared him the most. Right now, he couldn’t take care of a child, not when he didn’t have the proper prosthetics. The sleeves had spots of blood on them which meant that his sores opened up again. He needed to hurry; he promised Harry he would see him after work. He needed to get the special ointment. There is only one person who makes it and doesn’t want to go to London, and if he asked Bill, he would worry.

Charlie cast a cleansing spell and summoned two new sleeves. He just finished up when he heard Harry come into the house.

“Bear?” Harry’s voice rang through the house.

“Be right there!” Charlie hissed as he stood up. Yeah, maybe a trip to London sooner rather than later.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter sat in his workshop, he held a glass of amber liquid. He looked down at his arm, those two gray cauldrons surrounded by wilted wildflowers. They mocked him for a future that he will never have.

At 25 Harry should be living his life long dream. A family, children, along with his business. Wand making is his life, it is the only pleasure that he has in his life. The great Harry Potter who vanquished the dark lord when he was only 18 months old. His parents did die that night, he lived with his aunt and uncle who abused him his whole childhood. Then to find out that he is a wizard and how his parents died, and that he was a hero.

He watched all of his friends find their soul mates, getting married and having children. At 18 he learned about  his soulmate marks, and found out that he would never meet his soulmates. While the rest of his friends had colorful marks, his is gray.  Harry couldn’t believe that fate would be cruel enough that he would get two soulmates that were already dead.

Harry’s eyes drooped as he made his way up to his bed. It shouldn’t be this hard to live. After brushing his teeth he lies down and hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Harry jumped up after a nightmare. Every night he sees them, two pairs of hazel eyes. Hears their laughs, feels their touch. It’s so real, he can’t live like that any more. There is something that could be done. If only he could go back in time.

That’s it he could go back in time. There had to be something in the library. The Blacks were dark wizards. Harry at 17 inherited Sirius Black’s lordship.  His godfather, the man that was kissed for getting his parents killed. That was until they found the true person who told Voldemort where they were. They found Peter 13 years too late.

The library’s fireplace roared to life as Harry walked in. He tried to stay away from too dark magic. Not that Harry hasn’t done darker spells, not everything is black and white as it may seem.

Harry would do what he must to have the life that he wants. Too afraid of what he would do if he couldn’t find a resolution to this life of loneliness, and emptiness.

———-

It’s been three weeks since Harry decided to look for a spell. It is 3 in the morning and Harry is pouring over an old tome. His hair falling around his face from the band he has holding it back.

“This is useless, I should just forget about this. There isn’t a way that I will find my soulmates. Maybe I can find someone who lost their soulmates. I wouldn’t be alone then, or I could just end it all.” Harry shook his head and went back to his reading, he turned the page and something caught his eyes.

Harry read the spell multiple times, it is what he has been looking for. It is a spell for long-lost soulmates. It takes them back to a time before their soulmates die. Harry knew why this spell wasn’t used. It is blood magic, not all spells or potions that are made with blood are bad though with this one it affects him and everyone around him.

When Harry does this spell he will no longer exist. That is okay with him, he knows that it is selfish and he should care what is going to happen. He doesn't, he will find his soul mates and they will flee to where they can live a happy life and grow old together.

Thankfully as he read the ingredients he had everything he needed. Harry could do this tomorrow. He will have his soulmates tomorrow. Harry Potter will be just Harry. Exhaustion finally caught up with him, and for the first time in his life he wants to wake up in the morning.

—————-

Harry took a deep breath as he cut open his palm and added the blood that was needed. The cauldron sat in the middle surrounded by white candles. Runes are drawn on the floor. His hands shook as he stirred in the blood counterclockwise. It is time to say the spell. It has to be clear and loud.

Harry licked his lips as he started. “Tempus praeteritum, amor diu perditus, Accipe me, quod menu est inventive!” His voice didn't waiver as he finished the spell. Silence filled the room. He repeated the spell again. “Tempus praeteritum, amor diu perditus. Accipe me, quod menu est inventive!”

The ruins started to glow as the cauldron bubbled. Wind swept through the room blowing out the candles sending the room into darkness. Harry felt his heart beating out of his chest. The runes moved from the floor in an eerie glow. One by one they rushed toward Harry and hit him. He watched in awe as they sunk into his skin.

Once all the runes glowed on his skin he felt pins and needles on his skin. Soon his breathing picked up and he felt darkness creep in then there was a bright explosion that lit up the room. Then the pain stopped and the darkness took over.
