“Mother..” their pitiful voice cut through the silence of the plane of euthymia. Her child- no. This puppet— the first successful puppet, had shown emotions. This puppet was only a prototype, yet it is still not allowed to show emotions. Completed or not. Puppets are a failure once they malfunction.
She had somehow gotten attached to it. A part of her wanted to keep the puppet, failure or not. She felt tears at the corners of her eyes.
But, God’s do not show emotions.
“Do not call me mother.” Her monotone voice was intimidating. Her blade was near the face of the puppet, yet not touching the delicate, porcelain-like skin. She needed to do this. She had been influenced by this puppet. She too, now shows emotions. A puppet is a failure once they malfunction.
The puppet whimpered, fear evident in its face. Tears formed at its eyes, they shone brightly. Highlighted with tears, its eyes were always beautiful, but at this time, it could be pitiful. Its eyes were like the night sky, it entranced her, a beautiful sea, it was like a void.
Porcelain dolls are the epitome of delicate yet enduring beauty: They’re undeniably fragile, but if treated well they’ll last forever. What had gone wrong?
The moment the puppet felt emotions, she had chosen to discard it. But as the first successful puppet, she shall give it new life. A life where it is free to feel emotions.
The electro symbol at the back of its neck will symbolise its relationship with the shogun, its creator. She hopes that it will remember her, as a mother, a creator, or a murderer. She would be fine with any, so long as it remembers her.
She truly hopes it can live its life freely, away from expectations, away from Inazuma, and most importantly, away from her.
Kunikuzushi had found new life, a life where he is free, a life away from Inazuma and its Archon, a life where it is free to show emotions.
Yet it chooses not to.
A part of it had died when its Archon abandoned him, an important part.
It had left its emotions there with its mother.
