A world with us in it
Summary
Regulus Black and James Potter have loved each other for 2 years. Never looking back once. But now, 2 weeks into James' last year at school, it seems their entire world has been tipped upside down. Leaving their relationship outed, Sirius, hating their guts and a very interesting school year to remain.

"Fuck you, Potter!"

"Sirius, wait!"

"No!" James takes a step back, "You can't just hide shit like this from me! And all for what? A couple of good shags?"

"Sirius it's nothing like that-"

"THEN WHAT THE FUCK IS IT?!" Sirius roars, causing a crowd of students to gather around them.

James sighs, "Look, can we do this somewhere else?"

"I think the fuck not!" Sirius snaps at him. "You are going to stay away from him!"

"Sirius-"

"Did I fucking stutter!?"

More students appear, and James can practically feel their whispers.

"I can't do that Sirius," James says, staring his friend directly in the eye.

"Why not!"

"Because I fucking love him!"

James hits the floor with a loud thud. At least a dozen students gasp, staring as he runs a hand over the back of his head, revealing blood.

"What the fuck did you do to him!?" James hears someone yell, pushing through the crowd and kneeling over him.

Regulus.

"James, Love," His voice fills his mind. "James, where does it hurt?"

"I'm fine Reg," James whispers, leaning into his boyfriend's touch. Everything hurt, but he couldn't say it. Not in front of Sirius. It didn't matter that he was shouting at him because James knew how much Sirius hated hurting people, especially if it was in a way that reminded him of his mother.

"Oi! Get away from him!"

Regulus turned to face his brother, pulling James up as he does.

"Oh wow." He laughs, all the humour drained from his face, "You punch him, and then tell me to stay away? Go fuck yourself, Sirius!"

"I'm not the bad person here!"

"Well, you're certainly acting like it!"

The courtyard goes silent, not one person daring to speak. Even the teachers, who had arrived to break the scene apart, don't make a sound.

"Wow," Sirius begins to laugh, "You really think you care, don't you?"

James tightens his strength around Regulus, pulling him back so that he now stands behind him.

"What's that supposed to mean?!"

"It means you're empty." Sirius cackles, "You don't care about him. You don't care about anyone! You're a fucking shell Regulus, just like Mummy and Daddy always wanted."

Regulus draws his wand.

"Shut the fuck up, Sirius! SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!"

"SIRIUS ORION BLACK"

Everyone turns to see a boy with golden curls and scars as he storms towards the three boys. A red-headed girl following closely behind him.

"What the fuck Black!" Lily yells in Sirius' direction, pointing toward James' bloodied hands.

"Look Lily," Remus reasons quickly. "Get James and Regulus out of here, preferably somewhere Madame Pomfrey can check on James."

"But-"

"I'll deal with him," Remus sneers a little, jerking his head towards Sirius.

Lily sighs.

"Good luck," she whispers grabbing ahold of the two boys before promptly pushing them through the storm of people.

"They're not going anywhere-"

"SHUT IT SIRIUS!!!"

Remus then turns to the crowd surrounding them, sending them a sharp look.

"Everyone, out!"

No one moves. Not even an inch.

"UNLESS ANY OF YOU GUYS WANT EXPLODING BLISTERS COVERING YOUR FACES," Remus yells, causing half the students (and some of the teachers) to flinch, taking a step back, "I WOULD SUGGEST YOU ALL GET OUR ARSES OUT OF HERE!!!".

As if hit by a tsunami, footsteps all around begin huddling out of the space. Leaving the courtyard oddly empty. If anything, neither Sirius nor Remus had seen the area so lonely. It was almost intimidating.

"How long have you known?" Sirius asks.

Remus goes quiet.

"HOW LONG HAVE YOU FUCKING KNOWN LUPIN?"

Remus hands up before shouting, "Two years!", causing Sirius to growl. His whole body shakes as he does. 'For two years he thinks to himself bitterly. For two years, his friends had been lying to his face. Not once bothering to tell him the truth. All those times Prongs had gone out to practise quidditch (or those extra studies at the Library) were all a lie. Every one of them. His friends had all lied to him for his pathetic younger brother, letting him get away with using his best friend.

"They don't love each other," He says firmly. "They can't, and I will never let them."

"Its too late for that Sirius."
