chapter three
“Lily, hey, good you’re all here!” James had indeed found the girls on their way through the common room.
“Oh, hey James,” Lily greeted genuinely kindly.
“What do you need all of us for?” Marigold put her hands on her hips, standing slightly behind the ginger as backup.
“Entertaining my boys, of course,” James slid over smoothly, Sirius and Remus evident just out of Marigold’s focal point thus far.
“Hello, boys,” She smiled at the two cheekily, she’d always adored the marauders, but especially the two with long hair.
“Marigold, grace some poor lads with your charms, we beg!” Sirius called out confidently.
“My dear friend is requesting, that all four of you ladies come join us in our dormitory this lovely Friday night!” Remus shook his head at the pickup attempt.
“Why should we?” Marlene tested Peter playfully.
“Sirius has fire whisky,” Peter let out, a hush from his three friends following.
“This is what a girl has to do nowadays to get a drink?” Marigold addressed to the best friends on the couch together.
“Oh I’ll let you get a drink whenever you want one, babe,” Sirius was turning on his cheesy moves already. Remus, always the quieter one, gulped next to him, eyes stuck on gauging Marigold’s reaction.
“Well, I’d say let’s move this party upstairs and see where the night takes us!” James recouped.
“You coming, Gold?” Remus took a leap of courage and jumped up, extending an arm to the brunette.
“Gold?” Marigold was shocked to say the least, not only was this shy and withdrawn Remus Lupin saying such to a woman but of all girls to choose from, Marigold was being chosen.
Back in the Marauder dorm, a bottle of fire whisky was being passed around, the eight teens only taking swigs from its neck, and chasing it with pumpkin juice.
Lily and James sat on his bed, suspiciously close. Peter and Marlene leaned on opposite posts of his bed, the drunkest in the group already. Dorcas took Remus’ bed to herself, laying with one of his bars of chocolate.
Sirius and Remus sat on the former boy’s bed, a certain brunette babe squished between them.
“Life is their love story,” Remus sighed at James and Lily giggling over something the other had said, so clearly in love.
“Yeah, the three of us are just the hot side characters,” Sirius nodded.
“The hot side characters have the most fun, don’t you think?” Marigold hummed, the liquor warming her up and making her loose-tongued.
Remus and Sirius made eye contact above her, and silently agreed. This would be fun.
“‘Goldie, may I call you that? Goldie, I think we three should start spending a lot more time together,” Sirius suggested.
“Like make a side character support group?” She laughed.
“Nah, he means like an alley ship between the three of us, we should see a lot more of each other!” Remus indulged charmingly.
The girl looked back and forth between the two. The alcohol and the boys’ charm made her feel dizzy.
Remus, with his overgrown light brown hair and warm hazel eyes. With his faded scars that made him so mysterious. With his high marks and stand-up reputation.
Sirius, with his should length black hair and deep dark eyes, his smoldering presence. His tricky behavior, his talent for wooing women.
“Alright,” She agreed.
