Chapter 1

You and Vi had been dating for about a little over a month, still in the midst of settling into your new house when your period hit. Curled up on the bed, you barely registered the sound of Vi stepping into the room until she spoke, her voice laced with concern.

“Are you okay, Doll?”

You weakly shook your head.

She was at your side in an instant, sitting on the edge of the bed and gently running her fingers through your hair. “Are you sick?”

“No… cramps,” you mumbled.

Realization dawned on her face. “Oh— I’ll be back.” She pressed a quick kiss to your forehead before hurrying out of the room.

After a while, Vi returned, holding a bottle of ibuprofen and a glass of water. She sat beside you, her touch gentle as she placed a hand on your thigh.

"Drink this," she murmured, handing you the pills.

Sleepily, you sat up, your hair a tangled mess as you took them from her and washed them down with a sip of water.

Vi watched you closely, her thumb tracing small circles against your leg. “Do you want me to get you anything else?”

You shook your head, already feeling a little comforted just by her presence.

Vi brushed a few strands of hair from your face, her touch lingering for a moment. "Will you be okay while I'm gone?"

You sighed. "I guess."

She chuckled softly, amusement dancing in her voice. "Alright, Doll. You'll be okay."

With that, she stood up, her footsteps fading as she headed downstairs. A moment later, you heard the front door close behind her.

Groaning, you flopped back onto the bed, grabbing your phone and mindlessly scrolling, hoping the distraction would take your mind off the cramps.

Minutes passed, then nearly an hour. You had gotten lost in your phone, switching between social media and half-watching a show when you heard the front door open again.

Vi’s familiar footsteps echoed through the house, and soon enough, she reappeared in the bedroom, carrying a small bag. She grinned at you as she pulled out a heating pad, a bag of your favorite snacks, and a small bottle of ginger ale.

"Got you some reinforcements," she announced, tossing the heating pad onto the bed before plugging it in.

Your heart swelled at the gesture as you sat up. "You really didn’t have to do all that."

Vi smirked, climbing onto the bed beside you. "Yeah, but I wanted to." She handed you the heating pad, waiting until you pressed it against your stomach before tucking the blanket around you.

You sighed in relief, melting into the warmth. "You’re the best."

"Damn right I am." Vi leaned over, pressing a soft kiss to your temple. "Now scoot over. I’m staying right here until you feel better."

You shifted over without hesitation, letting Vi settle in beside you. She leaned against the headboard, her arm draped over your shoulders as you curled into her side. The warmth of the heating pad and the steady rhythm of her breathing made everything feel a little more bearable.

"Want to watch something?" she asked, grabbing the remote.

You nodded, resting your head against her chest. "Something easy. Maybe a comfort show."

Vi hummed in agreement, flipping through the options before landing on a show you’d both watched a dozen times. "Perfect."

As the episode played, she absentmindedly ran her fingers through your hair, her touch soothing. At some point, she reached over and grabbed a snack from the bag, unwrapping it before holding it up to your lips.

"You need to eat," she insisted when you gave her a look.

You sighed but took a small bite, and she grinned like she had just won a battle.

"Good girl," she teased, earning a halfhearted nudge from you.

Time passed in peaceful silence, and before you knew it, your eyelids were growing heavy. The combination of the heating pad, the medicine kicking in, and Vi’s presence made the cramps a little more tolerable.

"Feeling any better?" she murmured, her voice softer now.

You nodded sleepily. "Yeah. Thanks, Vi."

She kissed the top of your head, tightening her arm around you. "Anytime, Doll. Take a nap if you need to."

You nodded and closed your eyes, allowing yourself to drift off in the comfort of your girlfriend’s arms.
