Chapter 1

Izuku had been hit over the head repeatedly with life starting at the tender age of birth. Born a male omega he was doomed to be at the bottom from that alone, but the hits kept coming. He was “diagnosed” quirkless at age six. His dad left for America less than a year later for “work”. His mother could barely look at him anymore and started spending most of her time at work, or at the bottom of a bottle. Kacchan stopped being his friend and started bullying him relentlessly. The teachers ignored him.

The day the hits became too much started out like any other day. He woke up, made breakfast alone. Until he found the note from his mom on the fridge. Only a note. That was all her son was worth to tell him she was moving to America to be with his father, and he could stay in the apartment. She’d send him money every month. He threw away his fresh breakfast.

He put on his signature red shoes and his fake smile before heading out the door.

He tossed out the red spider lilies on his desk with a continued fake smile and simply put his notebook over the insults on his desk. Class was normal until the teacher called him out for wanting to go to UA. Kacchan insulted him and then after class ruined his most recent notebook and tossed it out the window.

Then came the famous last words he’d ever hear from Kacchan. Swan dive. Quirk in your next life.

Izuku walked home sobbing, which is probably why he wasn’t paying attention and got snagged by the slime villain. It didn’t matter because his favorite hero saved him and before he could leave Izuku latched onto his favorite alpha hero.

Izuku asked the question he thought he wanted the answer to. All he got was a “no” and told to be something else. A doctor or a police officer. And then All Might told him to knock on the roof door and jumped away.

Izuku felt his entire soul shatter. Not even his hero saw any worth in him. He couldn’t even be a decent mother. Male omegas were famous for infertility problems unlike their omega female counterparts. No alpha would want him. And without a quirk he couldn’t be a hero.

Izuku kicked off his shoes and dropped his backpack. He didn’t even bother to put them on the ledge. What was the point? No one would look for him or report him missing. He would be a bloody mess for some unfortunate soul to find.

There was no hesitation as he went over the fence and fell headfirst. His body hit the ground with a sickening crunch and blood splattered around him. His last breath left him, and his body lay there peaceful for only a moment.

Until it caught on fire and smoke filled the alleyway.

THAT EVENING…

Eraserhead AKA Aizawa-Yamada Shouta leapt from roof to roof on his normal patrol, deep in thought. It was he and his husband’s 15th anniversary in two days, and his son’s birthday in eight. He wasn’t sure what to get his amazing mate and son. They had been through so much together and any material gift he thought of sounded hallow.

Shouta had gotten pregnant at 17 and half expected Hizashi to run off, and he wouldn’t have blamed him. Instead, the alpha married him and gave him his mating bite. Shouta’s parents had thrown him out, but Hizashi’s parents took the young couple in and helped them. Despite everything… the rough pregnancy, a baby with the same insomnia as his mama, and a hero society that expected omegas to sit at home to pump out babies… Shouta became a respected underground hero and a teacher at UA.

Hitoshi was Shouta and Hizashi’s world. The alpha was quiet (also like his mother), but Shouta blamed the schools for that. He had been so bubbly as a child like Hizashi… until his quirk came in. No one had gotten hurt because a teacher interfered, but in a five-year-old rage Hitoshi had told a bully to go play in traffic. And the bully would have.

Shouta had gotten a frantic call by the principal about their baby and he and Hizashi had rushed over. Only to find his poor Hitoshi with a tight metal muzzle on his mouth and sobbing quietly. It took everything Shouta had to restrain Hizashi from killing everyone in that room. He had never (or since) seen Hizashi that angry. His eyes red from his alpha coming to the surface, fangs out and snapping at the air, venom dripping down his chin and claws grown out to a dangerous length. The only reason he didn’t use his quirk is because Shouta was wise enough to erase it as he held Hizashi back from tearing the principal and teacher limb from limb.

Heroes were called, child services were called on the school, Hizashi was banned… It had been an overall horrible and emotional day. Hitoshi was quiet after that and slept with his parents in their nest for almost three years. Of course, they had put him in a different school, but the damage was done. Hitoshi did not trust teachers, barely spoke to children his age, and tried to never talk about his brain washing quirk.

Every year for his birthday Hitoshi would shyly ask his parents for a sibling. And every year they tried, but after the third bloody miscarriage that almost took Shouta’s life, Hizashi begged no more. He couldn’t bear to see his mate bleeding, not to mention the emotional agony that came afterwards. Shouta was put on birth control, and he could only cry as he apologized to his mate and his son for his body’s failure. Hizashi told him to never speak like that again and just held him. Hitoshi hugged his mama and told him younger siblings sounded annoying anyway. But Shouta knew they were both disappointed.

Back in the present Shouta landed on a roof and wiped his brow, looking at his phone and seeing it was almost 2 in the morning. The night had been quiet so far until his earpiece chattered.

“Eraserhead are you near section 84? Got reports of smoke, possible fire, but I don’t want to send out the firefighters for kids playing with fire extinguishers again.” The dispatch said. Shouta put his finger to his ear to hold down the button to reply.

“I’ll check it out. If it’s a fire, I’ll contain it until firefighters get there.” Shouta said and then ran towards the section the dispatch was talking about. He slid down an old rusty fire escape and walked towards the smoke, keeping one hand on his capture weapon as he walked into it. It was… strangely thick.

“Dispatch I’m seeing smoke, but no fire.” Shouta said. He barely registered a “copy” when suddenly the smoke shifted and was choking him. He clawed at his throat and tried to press the button in his ear to call for help but instead felt it fall out and clatter to the floor. The smoke was all over him and he collapsed as he fought against an enemy he couldn’t see. Why was he panicking? The smoke was blinding him and making him deaf and choking the life out of his lungs at the same time. He tried to fight it, but eventually his eyes closed.

Shouta jerked awake with a pained groan and grabbed his stomach. He slowly rolled onto his hands and knees and threw up what was left of the dinner Hizashi had made him. Another horrible cramp rolled through his stomach and despite his high tolerance for pain Shouta groaned from the pain. He slowly crawled to the wall and used it to stand up until another pain almost sent him on his ass again. He could only groan in pain.

Shouta grabbed his phone, panting and noticed not even an hour had passed since he checked in with dispatch. That was his only relief until he literally screamed and gripped his stomach. He scrambled for his belt and pressed the red emergency button all underground heroes were required to wear. It sent his location to the nearest hero for assistance. Unfortunately, he didn’t know where his com went, and underground heroes were usually more spread out.

Shouta felt something wet between his legs and shakily undid his belt and pushed them down, seeing a small puddle in his pants. It was dark and his pants were black so he couldn’t make out the color. Was he miscarrying again? No, no, no, no! Shouta was so careful with his birth control! This couldn’t be happening to him again! Shouta let out a sob but took a few deep breaths. Panicking would only get him killed. He just had to roll with the pain. He had done this before.

Shouta let a few tears roll down his face as he braced against the wall and just let himself groan in pain as another cramp ripped through him. Then suddenly something was… dropping. Shouta gasped and pushed through the cramp. He slowly reached down between his legs, eyes wide and staring straight at the wall, as he felt something solid… This was different…

Thinking quickly, Shouta painfully took his shirt off and put it on the ground, crouching above it and leaning back slightly on the wall. Steadying himself he grits his teeth and pushed as hard as he could when he felt the cramp (no… a CONTRACTION) roll through his body. A small head slid out and Shouta held it as best he could while hunched over. He felt one final big one coming and he let out the loudest scream he had ever made, pushing with all his might until a tiny slippery baby slid into his hands.

Pulling the baby up, mess and all, he sat back against the wall on his shirt. He lay the baby against his chest panting and just put his legs out in front of him. Shouta looked down at the quiet baby and started rubbing his back and cooing. Hearing its mother, the baby started making soft noises and opened its eyes. Oh… those were Hizashi’s eyes. Shouta felt more tears running down his face for a whole new reason and gently lifted one of the baby’s legs. A male omega like his mama. Shouta looked up with half lidded eyes when he heard flapping.

“I found him!” Hawks said into a radio and landed in front of Shouta “I’m going to need an ambulance” Hawks gave a much better description of their location then put the radio on his hip. He kneeled in front of Shouta and just gave him a happy grin.

“Congratulations mama. He is beautiful.” Hawks said.

“I thought you didn’t work nights?” Shouta mumbled, still holding onto his baby.

“Yeah well, I was in the area, and us omegas got to stick together, right?” Hawks said with a goofy grin. Shouta could only give the number three hero a soft smile as flashing lights filled the alleyway.

HOSPITAL…

Hizashi had been panicking since getting a call from Nemuri that Shouta had pressed his emergency button and could not be reached on his com. In 15 years of being a hero Shouta had never pressed his button, always getting himself out of whatever sticky situation he had gotten himself into.

Hizashi was updated that Shouta was found safe, but was being taken to the hospital, and no one would tell him WHY. Hitoshi refused to be left at home, so they (Hizashi) had broken many traffic laws to get to the hospital in record time.

Hizashi and Hitoshi ran like mad men through the hospital, Hizashi winning by an inch and slammed the door open. A nurse turned and scowled at them, but Hizashi didn’t acknowledge her. Instead, he stared at his more-then-usual exhausted husband… holding a familiar bundle to his bare chest. Hitoshi froze with him when he managed to squeeze around him to finally look at his mother. Shouta looked at them and gave them the most beautiful, tired smile Hizashi had ever seen.

Slowly Hizashi approached, making soft noises in his throat that Shouta answered with his own. Shouta slowly moved the blanket and Hizashi broke down sobbing when he got the first look at his new baby. He was tiny, only four or five pounds, but he was perfect. The baby made soft noises as he drank from his mother and his eyes were closed from content.

Hitoshi finally unfroze and slowly walked over to investigate the bundle, shock and wonder all over his face.

“Hizashi… Hitoshi… This was a huge surprise to me too… I had no idea I was… but… Happy anniversary… Happy birthday.” Shouta mumbled. Hitoshi joined his father with the tears.

“Oh Shouta… I’m so sorry you did this alone.” Hizashi sobbed.

“No one knew Hizashi… not even me. You know I never would have gone on patrol if I knew I was carrying this little one.” Shouta said, cupping Hizashi’s cheek and letting the alpha bury his face in his neck.

“Still… I should have picked up on your scent… I should have been there…” Hizashi cried. Shouta just pets his mate’s hair and let him wallow in self-pity until he could be talked into some sense.

“Baby is small, but fully developed and mama is nice and healthy. Doctor wants to keep you two overnight just for precaution. Also, Aizawa will have to speak to a social worker and detective before he is released.” The nurse said cheerfully. Shouta and Hizashi jerked at the detective and social worker part.

“But why? I just said I didn’t know if I was pregnant. I never would have endangered…” Shouta felt his heartbeat picking up. Were they going to take away his baby because he was ignorant to his condition and had gone on patrol pregnant? Sour omega scent started filling the room and Hizashi wrapped a protective arm around him and the baby.

“No, no! I’m so sorry no. Please be calm. It’s a precaution for you and baby. What you had was what we call a distressed pregnancy… we see it all the time in omega heroes, but there still must be an investigation. Your inner omega didn’t feel safe, so your body didn’t change its scent to broadcast your pregnancy and your womb went IN instead of OUT. I’m guessing you have been having backpain or feeling off center?” Now that the nurse mentioned it… Shouta had, but he chalked it up to his hero work and getting older. At his nod the nurse continued.

“Like I said we see it a lot in omega heroes but also in… extreme domestic violence situations… where an alpha was abusing an omega to the point that they had a distressed pregnancy. So, every omega with a distressed pregnancy, hero or not, is investigated to make sure mama and baby are safe.” Shouta calmed down and his scent went back to normal. It was logical that an omega with a pregnancy like his would be checked on to make sure he wasn’t going to be sent home to an abusive situation where he and the baby could be killed.

“I’m very tired…” Shouta mumbled to Hizashi. Hizashi scrambled for a second as Shouta thrust the bundle into his arms “Make sure you burp him.” Shouta said and proceeded to pass out.

Hizashi tried not to let his panic show as he got the bundle shifted comfortably in the crook of his arm and stared down at the newcomer.

“Oh, Shouta already filled out the paperwork to get a certificate of birth. He wanted the name” The nurse looked at the computer “Izuku”

“Izuku? That’s a great name.” Hizashi whispered, letting his scent out slightly to wash over Izuku. Izuku wrinkled his nose and made a small, distressed noise but seemed to recognize his sire and relaxed in his blanket again. Hizashi turned and offered Izuku to Hitoshi who flew back against the wall.

“Not-uh… what if I drop him? Or hold him wrong? Or he doesn’t like me? What if I drown him with my scent? He’s TINY!” Hitoshi babbled. Hizashi just smiled.

“I’ll be right here. If you are that nervous just sit down.” Hizashi said. Hitoshi narrowed his eyes slightly at his father but sat down like he asked. Hizashi sat in the chair next to him and gently passed Izuku into his arms. Hitoshi froze when Izuku made an annoyed noise at being moved around but quickly quieted down.

“Now ever so slightly release your scent… just a drop… he needs to smell you and recognize you as big brother early.” Hizashi said. Hitoshi took a deep breath and did as his father instructed. Izuku wrinkled his nose again but just yawned and curled closer to Hitoshi’s arm. Hitoshi brightened and smiled down at the sleeping Izuku. Hizashi wrapped his arm around his eldest son’s shoulder and kissed his temple.

“You’ll be a wonderful big brother…”

“Welcome to the family… little brother…” Hitoshi whispered. He liked the sound of that.
