A date with the stars
It wasn't just a long day but a long week- one filled with exams. Lily, the brilliant witch that she was, didn't have to worry about her exams. She could pass them all with no revision necessary because she worked hard each and every day to stay on top of her grade.
That didn't mean that she wasn't worried though.
No, Miss Evans was stressed beyond belief about her N.E.W.T.s in seventh year. It was starting to get worrying because thoughts of failing were plaguing her, even in her dreams. They were almost caught one night because she woke up on a night that she was bunking in the Marauder's dorm screaming due to a nightmare.
Both James and Sirius hated how much that it was getting to her so, in a last attempt, Sirius came up with one of his marvellous plans.
That was why Sirius and Lily were lying under the stars.
They had borrowed the map and the cloak and snuck out, making a pit stop at the kitchens. After explaining Lily's state, the house elves were more than willing to pack them a special picnic. They were using the thick blanket that the boys used on the full-moon to keep warm.
Lily's relaxed breathing and soft voice was the most beautiful melody that Sirius had ever heard. She was pressed against him, sharing his body warmth, as Sirius listed off constellations with ease. Having to learn advanced content when he was young paid off in times like this.
Every so often, he would ask her an astronomy question and would feed her a piece of chocolate honeycomb, which was her favourite sweet, if she got it correct. It made her giggle every time he did it.
By the time that they got up bright and early to make their way to their astrology exam in the morning, picnic basket and blanket handed back to the house elves, they felt more than prepared to take the astronomy exam.
It was safe to say that they passed the exam with full marks.
