Chapter 9
Harry took a deep breath, “I want to tell you the reason I am mute, I don't want your family to know yet.” Harry looked everywhere, but at Jasper. “You don't have to if you're not comfortable. I have to admit I do want to know but if you are doing this because of what Alice said, please don't.”
“No, no, I really want to. I’ve been thinking about telling you, I just don’t want your family to know, just you.”
“Okay, that’s fine, it will be a secret between just us.”
“I used to live with my Aunt and Uncle, mom’s sister. They hated magic and since I had it they hated me. My uncle would beat me in hopes of beating it out of me. Because of the war and all of the fighting, I got night terrors. I would have to scream myself awake sometimes. My uncle hated when I woke him up, so one night he decided to shut me up,” Harry took a deep breath, and took his choker off, showing Jasper the cut on his neck. “He shut me up permanently, after he cut it, he poured something on it, making it hurt more. I almost died from blood loss, but my papa rescued me.” Harry’s hands were shaking by the time he finished, he could feel the tears running down his face. He closed his eyes, blinking the tears away when he felt Jasper's hand gently wipe his tears away. “I can not believe someone like that even exists, to be able to do that to a child. Hearing all of this makes me even more thankful that I even got to meet you. You are so strong for being able to survive that.” Harry gave Jasper a small smile resting his head against the hand Jasper had yet to move away from his face. “I can feel your fear, I will never leave you, kitten”
Harry let out the breath he was holding, when he heard a door slam. It had made him jump, Jasper instantly picked up on Harry’s anxiety spiking, “That was Alice and Bella, Esme sent them to Bella's house for the rest of the night.”
Harry relaxed a little, he felt bad that he had caused a fight between the family. He looked at Jasper and all his fear melted away, the way Jasper was looking at him read pure adoration. “Thank you for being here with me, I think I can handle going back down now.” Jasper nodded. He stood up first holding his hand out for Harry to grab. Harry started to blush as he quickly signed, “Such a gentleman”
“Always for you kitten.” Jasper replied with a small smirk. Harry didn't know what to do with himself, being called kitten by a drop dead gorgeous man was giving him butterflies. The rest of the night flew by Esme had given Harry a hug when they had walked back into the living room. Jasper and Harry took their seats back. Remus gave Harry a quick smile before continuing his conversation with Emmett. Esme served a small apple pie for the actual food eaters, but Harry and Remus being the only food eaters still there they got to take it home at the end of the night. Harry spent the rest of the night talking with Carlisle about the wizarding world. Carlisle had been very curious about what had changed and what hadn't from the last time he was in Europe over 150 years ago. After saying all the goodbyes, Harry and Remus headed back home. Just as Harry was about to change into his pj's, he got a text.
Jasper: Good Night kitten, Sweet dreams
Harry: Good Night Jay <3
The smile never left harry’s face as he changed into his pjs, lay down and drifted off.
When Harry woke the next morning, he didn't want to get out of bed. Jasper wasn't going to be at school, he and his family would be going on a hunting/camping trip. Sadly leaving Harry to survive the entire day of school without him. Curling around his pillow Harry thought about his chances of being able to skip school. He hadn't been able to even attempt skipping at Hogwarts living at the school and all. He would be able to if Remus left for work before Harry had to head to school. The chances turned out to be 0%, when Remus knocked on his door saying, “You have 10 minutes, cub. It's time for school.” Harry groaned into his pillow before finding the will to get up and out of bed. It took Remus yelling up to him 3 more time's before he actually came down and left for school.
