Note
This fic was originally written for last year's Fremione Fanatic's Yule Fest, but for personal reasons I had to pull out at the last minute. I hope you enjoy this big ball of fluff that's a year in the making. I'd also like to say a quick thank you to Moonfairy, whose constant encouragement, understanding, and positivity make the Fremione family such a lovely place to be. She truly is our Fairy Mum!

Ron

He just couldn’t wrap his head around it. It was the maddest thing he’d ever heard. Fred, worried about what he thought? That’d be the day.

“Is everything alright, sweetheart?” Lavender asked as she refilled his tea.

“What? Yeah, yeah of course, why?” He patted her arm in thanks, he hadn’t even realised he’d finished his first cup of tea.

“Oh, we’ll you came over here asking for tea and muttering about Fred. Did he do something?”

“No, not at all, it’s just something George said. Didn’t make any sense.”

“Would you like to talk about it? Maybe we can puzzle it out together,” Lavender offered as she placed a plate of biscuits on the table and snuggled into Ron’s side on the sofa.

“Okay, we’ll, I guess he and Gin are trying to get Fred and Hermione together,” Ron started.

“Yes,” she said.

“Yes? You knew?” Ron asked, confused.

“Oh, love, I think everyone knows. Except Fred, and Hermione, and apparently you?”

“No one ever tells me anything,” Ron muttered, biting into his biscuit.

“Was that what has you so distracted? Fred and Hermione?”

She pulled away from him a little and he instantly felt horrible. They had talked long into the night about her insecurities since the battle. About her scars, about Hermione. He pulled her back into him and squeezed her gently.

“Not the Fred and Hermione part, I actually think they would be good for each other, that whole opposites attracting and all that. No, George said that the reason Fred hasn’t asked her out is because of me.”

“What does that mean?” Lavender asked, and there was no accusation in her voice.

“Well, I dunno, I never figured Fred gave a damn what I thought about anything.”

“Of course he does, you’re his brother. I know you have had issues in the past, but I can see how much he respects you. And not just Fred, but all of them. You’ve grown so much in the last few years, we all have. Maybe you should just talk to him, see where the conversation goes.”

“That’s a good idea,” Ron said, pulling her in even closer. He placed a kiss on the top of her head. “I’ll go see him in the morning and get this all sorted.”
