Virus Alert!

The lights blared down on her as she stood upon the stage, Presenting herself confidently. Everything had been going just perfect that night, her trivia show was coming along well and for once Scrap’s wasn’t taking all her prizes. Though as she was going to ask another question, her vision started flashing red, a warning sign appearing inside her display, one that only she could see. Her antenna twitched in annoyance at the warning, thinking of it completely unnecessary, but that was before she was overwhelmed, staggering back and collapsing on stage. While she couldn’t move she stared blankly up at the top lights and the worried face of Shelly that entered her line of sight, she couldn’t make out what the ammonite was saying as her system’s were struggling to keep themselves functioning, her fan roaring as it attempted to cool her blazing insides. “Vee c’mon don’t shut down on me.. Shoot..”

Shelly picked up Vee’s limp microphone tail and made an announcement to the crowd. “We’re having Technical difficulties at the moment, But don’t fret, your host will return at a later date! I hope..” the ammonite then dropped her tail and bent down to pick up Vee carrying her twitching form backstage, wincing at how hot her frame was against her smooth scales. It was a miracle the TV host wasn’t melting from the inside out at these temperatures. “Just stay on..” She chirped softly, staring down at the flashing screen of Vee, which was thankfully still on, though all she prompted out of the Television was a weak smile. “Oh Vee..” Shelly cooed, placing her down on one of the tables backstage. “If only Brightney was here.. She’s better with this technical stuff than me..” A sigh escaped her lips while she attempted to open Vee’s Interface, using what she remembered from watching Brightney Operate time and time again, and to her surprise it worked.

“Ok where did she go from here.. Settings.. Uhm Diagnostics check..” Shelly tapped gently, making sure her claw didn’t accidentally scrape the glass. Though once it finished running the results alarmed her. “How did a Virus get into your files..” The paleontologist worried, trying to remember what Brightney had told her about viruses. “D..D.D..Dele...te.. In..Fe..cted.. Fi..Le..s..” Vee recalled, attempting to lift a finger, though it just fell back to the table. “Ah.. Don’t push yourself VeeVee.. But thank you..” Shelly flashed a concerned grin, running through her program, clearing Cache, and any files that were foreign to the system, or infected. Once she was done her finger hovered over the reboot option. “I’ll see you when you're all better.. Sorry…” The ammonite pressed down, though she couldn’t bear to watch as Vee’s screen faded to black, averting her eyes.

When Vee awoke Shelly was there by her side, snoring quietly against the robotic toon. Looking around Vee saw that she’d been moved to her own room, and they were currently in her bed. Seeing that the ammonite had stuck with her throughout her whole rebooting process she smiled softly. Vee was honestly thankful she was no longer bugging out and overheating, so she just let the ammonite lay there against her. The television was oddly comforted by the rise and fall of Shelly’s chest. Though what startled her was the movement of the small form snuggled into her. “Hmm..? Vee? You're awake!” The ammonite cheered groggily, her tail thumping against the bed. “Yeah.. Ehe.. Thanks Shelly, you know.. For helping clear that virus..” Vee responded, a green blush creeping onto the corners of her screen.

“Yeah it was no problem at all.. Though you shouldn’t have moved while you were still afflicted, I would’ve got it eventually.. I think..” Shelly scolded, garnering a weary sigh from Vee. “I know, I know..” The television host beeped, glancing up at Shelly. “ Thanks, for not leaving..” Shelly added, leaning in to give the Vee a gentle peck on the screen. “I-I- Uhm- Heh..Y..You're welcome..?” The TV stammered, her glass heating up, whilst her cooling fans kicked on to make sure she didn’t overheat again. Vee just opted to collapse her head back onto the bed, sighing as her microphone cord tail wagged quickly. What a strange day they’d both had.
