The Sorting
Emma paid little attention to the other kids getting sorted into their houses
Although there was some kid named Rumpelstiltskin
That's gotta be fun when you're learning to spell
"Jones, Killian"
She looked over at that one
He had a cool name, and she wanted to see what he looked like
The boy walked up to the hat with some sort of eleven year old swagger, although looked nervous as hell in the face
"Hufflepuff!" The hat cried out
Killian joined his table, sitting down next to what looked like an older, lighter haired version of himself
They must be brothers
It wasn't too long before her name was called
"Swan, Emma"
She tried to achieve the same swagger as all of Killian, though ended up with more of a shuffle
She likely would've done it better without trying than with the extra effort
She sat down and the hat was plopped on her head
"Not Slytherin" she thought
"Gryffindor!" The hat screamed
Emma trotted off to join her table, being congratulated by the other Gryffindors
"Congrats" said another first year sitting next to her, who held out his hand for her to shake "I'm Robin"
"I'm Emma"
If she wasn't mistaken, that Rumpelstiltskin kid wound up in Slytherin
But honestly, could eleven year olds really be evil?
Yes, yes they can
Emma knew first hand that some eleven hear olds would backhand satan himself with no fear nor remorse
But maybe that kid wasn't all bad
Although he did look eternally pissed
They were escorted to their common rooms by their prefects after the speeches and banquets and such
Emma couldn't help but enjoy that their staircase turned into a slide when any boy tried to climb
The girls even coerced some of the boys into trying to run up so that they could use the slide down
Emma was enjoying her first impression of hogwarts
Maybe it'd be fun
