That night, Keqing wasn't able to get any sleep. It all started as just thinking about daily life, but then the sounds of Ganyu humming sadly about something woke her up definitely. She couldn't listen to everything, but the mention of a war maybe could be the reason. Keqing knew Ganyu didn't take part in the archon war, so why did it kept her having nightmares? Even though her works is highly related to the whole nation, she didn't have time to learn in detail about the events that took place almost 4 thousand years ago. Getting up, her goal now was learning it, just so she could understand why Ganyu had such that reaction to remembering some time she didn't live. The sun wasn't rising yet, but she was already dressed, calculating time, she was gonna be spending about a couple hours just getting to Ganyu's master, Cloud Retainer, home. Mount Aocang. Leaving a note for her lover, a last kiss on her forehead before heading out, seeing she's back to a normal sleep. She made sure she remembered the way, thinking when was the last time she actually went there to spend time with Xianyun. Mostly, they have never been alone before. She already knows she's not a bad person, and that she cares deeply about her disciples. The road was calm, not a single soul could be seen, or heard. The sun began to appear on the sky, tainting it on a orange-ish tone. When she reached the summit, it was already past morning, almost noon. She said her name out loud. Having a quick answer. The woman appeared right in front of her, greeting.
- Keqing, it's my pleasure to have you... One will always greet my Ganyu's partner with joy. Isn't her with you today?
- Oh, she's actually the reason I'm here. Last night, she was having a nightmare about a war, I assumed it was the archon war, so I came here for some more context on it. You did live the whole thing, right? Please, I want to know everything Ganyu could be going through.
Cloud Retainer laughed for some seconds, before looking back at the girl. She inmediately saw that her expression was somehow serious, and her goal was exactly that. Changing her tone instantly, she asked her to sit down with her. Then, with a cup of tea, she started narrating the cruel events of that time. How miserable everyone looked at that time. How despair was the main emotion you could see on the Adepti. The loss... That part really made Xianyun look down in sadness. It was around an hour long of the story class, when the blue haired girl appeared on the top of the mountain.
- Master! I can't seem to find Keqing anywhere! Please help me... Find her... - Her whole anxiety fleed her body, when she saw the two of them sharing some tea.- What's... What's all of this?
- Oh, Ganyu... One was talking with Keqing about... Something bothering her. The Yuheng was worried about you, actually. - Cloud Retainer replied, before taking a sip from her cup.
Explaining the whole situation, even though she didn't wanna worry Ganyu, the look of the semi-adeptus was turning red every second that passed. Looking at that kind of peculiar look of hers, Keqing started thinking about what was the issue, while Xianyun started laughing again. Hearing that laugh, she turned even more embarrased. Finally, she tried murmuring some words, while looking at her master before looking away again.
- Care to explain? - Keqing asked, being more confused than ever.
- It's... Nothing, just let's go back. - Her lover quickly tried to reply, being interrupted by her master.
- It's quite simple, honorable Yuheng. Ganyu had some... Issues taking her food when she was just as young as a human teenager. She really couldn't handle some of the plates I tried. So I had to come up with a plan. - Ganyu tried stopping her, asking her to stop, while her whole face was ruborised.- Well, I told her that if she didn't took her whole meal, the giant serpent would come back for her and eat her. That worked pretty well while growing up. I guess it leaves a little... Memory One was not awared of.
- Master Cloud Retainer! That's... That's... - She pouted, and began leaving the place.
Keqing followed her, after saying goodbye to Xianyun. She was obviously ashamed for that. Maybe it was better to simply ask her in the first place. When she reached Ganyu, the avoidant look on her whole body was sure there, but that didn't stop her from trying to talk to her. The whole trip back to the city was occupied by Keqing's apologies, which eventually were accepted. That night, before going to sleep, both of them in bed, Ganyu placed a kiss on Keqing's cheek. "Thank you for caring about me", she said, before hitting softly on her head, "But next time, please don't ask my master about these things". Sleeping now, this time was Keqing dreaming about her and her lover fighting side by side on the war.
