Coffee Shop AU--Sirius/Harry

Harry has been watching him for years now. He couldn't help it, really couldn't, not when the older man was simply gorgeous. The man was a foot taller than Harry, something that makes Harry breathless for some odd reason. He also had shaggy black hair with a neatly trimmed facial hair. More than once Harry wanted to know how all that hair felt on his skin. And finally the three things Harry loves the most--the steel grey eyes, wicked grin, and the bark like laugh. All three never failed to send burning arousal through Harry's body. But then again nothing compares to the orgasm inducing voice the man possessed.

Sirius Black, the coffee shop's singer/musician was simply too much for Harry to handle. None of that mattered because the man doesn't take any notice of the eighteen year old barista.

The awkward teen has had a crush on Sirius since the older man had started working at the shop. Harry had been fifteen to Sirius' twenty-three when they first met. The shop, Never Just One Cup, was owned by Harry's neighbor Remus Lupin. Remus hired Harry to work after school everyday and every weekend. Harry loved it and was grateful that Remus gave him the job. Harry was saving the money to leave town.

Remus was a kind and gentle man. He hired Severus Snape, a now twenty year old who had quit his Year Thirteen at school to take care of his ailing mother. The then fifteen year old Dennis Creevey ran away from his abusive family. Remus gave him a job and a home. Harry and Dennis became best friends bonding over their similar life. And finally Remus' girlfriend Amelia Bones. Amelia is their baker. Harry splits his time at the shop between serving coffee and helping Amelia.

Sirius was hired not long after Harry started working at the shop. Harry was lost the first time Sirius played. His voice was enchanting and more than once Remus scolded Harry for getting distracted. And after three years Harry is still getting scolded.

"Harry, go ask Sirius what he wants?" Remus ordered.

"What? Why me, Remy?" Harry will forever deny that he was whining. "Have Severus do it."

"Severus isn't here. Go, Harry."

Harry huffed. "Fine."

The eighteen year old moved as slowly as he could without making himself look stupid. Somehow some way the distance had been shorter and he was standing next to Sirius sooner than he wanted to be.

Harry breath caught when Sirius turned his head and smiled. His brain went blank, he forgot why he was there. Harry prayed that Sirius didn't think that there was something mentally wrong with him.

"Did you need something, Harry?" Sirius asked humorously.

"I--uh--um--Rem--uh--did you--can I get you anything?" Harry wanted to slap himself for stuttering and rushing his words. He exhaled and tried again. "I'm here to take your order."

"I thought that's what you said." Sirius chuckled. "I'll take coffee, black and one of Amelia's lemon biscuits."

"I'll be right back." Harry rushed back to Remus. He glared at his boss. "I hate you, Remy."

Remus laughed. "Its been three years, Harry. Time for you to do something besides pine and drool over the man."

"No, no way. He doesn't even know I exist apart from working here." Harry glared down at the cup in his hand.

"Then move on. Its not healthy, Harry." Remus advised. "I'll take it to him, you help Amelia."

Harry sighed in relief. "Thanks, Remy."

Sirius looked up and blinked in surprised when it was Remus who set his order down.

"Where's Harry?" He asked looking behind Remus.

"Helping Amelia. May I asked you a question?"

"Sure." Sirius smiled at the other man.

"Are you seeing anyone?" Remus asked right out, not wanting to beat around the bush.

"I thought you and Amelia were dating. Or are you two looking for a third?" Sirius grinned mischievously.

Remus felt his face heat up. He coughed uncomfortably. "We are. No, I'm not asking for that. Amelia and I aren't into that."

"Okay." Sirius smirked at the flustered man. "No, I'm not seeing anyone."

"Great." Remus blurted out, needing to get away before he embarrasses himself. "Let me know when you need another cup." He said hastily as he backed away.

Sirius chuckled as he shook his head. "Strange man."

The coffee shop had two busy times. In the morning from five to eight. Those three hours were hell. People are always in a rush and were extremely cranky, some can be down right hostile. The next busy time starts after schools let out. They'll get the older teens first then the after work adults. Remus closes an hour before dinner. During the weekends they are busy all day. It was no longer funny to see the same people sit around all day drinking coffee.

Despite all that Harry still loves working in the shop and seeing the same people everyday. He sometimes jokes with Remus, telling the man he was going to open his own coffee shop and steal all of his customers. Remus just tells him he's going to chain Harry to the counter and leave him there. Sometimes he can never tell if Remus was serious when the older man says it. It was those times that Harry thinks 'I don't ever want to leave'.

And he really doesn't. Remus and Amelia are the parents he never had. Severus is his older brother and Dennis the younger. Harry loves his little family, even when they drive him crazy.

Especially when they drive him crazy.

Like right now. It started during the morning rush the day after Harry embarrassed himself in front of Sirius. Severus started it, telling Harry he knew some guys who were single, sometimes he would bring it up in front of Sirius. Dennis was just as bad. The younger had somehow asked his eighteen year old school mates to stop in. Dennis would introduce them all to Harry, and tell them that Harry was single. Only three asked Harry out--Blaise Zabini, Draco Malfoy, and Cedric Diggory. In the next rush, Severus introduced Draco's older brother Lucius, Charlie Weasley, and Viktor Krum. To make matters worse Amelia had him meet Augustus Rookwood, Fenrir Greyback, and the cherry on the cake, Regulus, Sirius' twin brother. By the time the shop was ready to close Harry was developing a tic in his right eye.

Had the younger man been paying attention to his crush, he would have seen every glare, scowl, and sneer. Had the others been paying attention they would have seen Sirius telling all the suitors that Harry was already taken, or had seen him punch his brother. And most of all they would have seen the love, jealousy, and possessiveness in his silver eyes. Harry was his and it was time the teen and everyone in the shop knew that.

The next day an hour after the shop opened, flowers were brought in. It was a big display of blood red roses and lavender. Harry was surprised when the delivery man called out his name. He was equally surprised when he read the card--'I figured it was now time to tell you that you belong to me. I waited three years, I am done waiting. I love you Harry, Sirius'.

"Harry, are you alright?" Remus softly asked as he laid a hand on Harry's shoulder.

Harry smiled at the older man. "Never better, Remy."

Throughout the day Harry received small gifts. Chocolates, a teddy bear holding guitar, a simple silver chain with a single emerald pendent, a carved box (when Harry opened it it began playing his favorite song--one that Sirius sings), and his last gift was a midnight blue suit with a black shirt and matching tie. The suit came with a note like the other gifts had. The other notes all had why Sirius loved Harry. This note simply informed Harry of the dinner reservations Sirius made for them an hour after Harry got off.

Harry finished his last customer and quickly changed in Remus' office. He left before anyone could stop him. Completely missing the smug look on Remus' face.

Their date was perfect. Harry had fallen even more in love with the man. Sirius was the perfect gentleman, even when some of his stories had Harry laughing loudly or blushing darkly. After dinner Sirius took him for a walk around the heart of London. Just before ending the date they sat on a bench at the park and watched the stars. Sirius held Harry tightly to his side the whole time.

Three months later, right there in the middle of the shop, Sirius proposed to Harry. A month later in the exact same spot they were married.

The coffee shop was so much more than a place to relax and enjoy a hot cup of coffee.
