Chapter Desať
Severus transformed into a fox greatly surprising Draco. He figured his cynical head of Slytherin godfather would have been a reptile, not a cute furry thing.
“Now Mr. Malfoy I assume you’ve completed your assignment, yes?” Snape chittered.
“Yes professor I have, Potter’s secret is that he like gals and blokes,” Draco mewed in response. Honestly, it was strange to hear English from these animal noises. Snape smirked “Mcgonagall owes me ten galleons, take that I knew he couldn’t have been straight.”
“You were betting on your student's sexualities?” Draco asked.
“Of course we were, I am very good at guessing, like how you are most likely gay, the Weasly twins are pansexual, Diggory is Bisexual and Percy Weasly is aroace. I have guesses on the others as you can see,” Snape said nonchalantly.
“How did you guess?” Draco questioned. Snape grinned, “If you couldn’t tell I am Pansexual, so it was quite obvious. Honestly, though I am not surprised you didn’t know, your father would have been too embarrassed to tell you.”
Draco's hypothetical eyebrows shot up as if he was still a cat, his dad?!? “You don’t mean that…”
“Your dad is bisexual, yes exactly. He had dated quite a few men including myself before he met your mother. Boy was she a catch though, he couldn’t have done better than Cissy. They were made for each other.” Draco wasn’t sure whether to be disgusted that his godfather had dated his father or relieved that his father also found the same gender attractive. The mixed expressions on his face probably eluded to his very obvious confusion. “Ask your mother about it, I doubt your father would tell you, but Narcissa on the other hand has quite a few stories from her perspective, only if you want to know of course,” the professor stated.
Draco was quite curious, but as the saying goes curiosity killed the cat. He was however relieved to know that nothing would change if he decided to get a boyfriend instead of a girlfriend. Severus proceeded to tell him he had till the end of the week to turn back.
Harry’s POV
It had been nearly two weeks since anyone had seen Draco. Seamus was beginning to become panicky. Dean tried to calm him, assuring him everything would be okay. But Harry could understand why Seamus was so panicked, Harry had witnessed the horrible harassment and bullying of the other houses directed at the Slytherins.
Harry didn’t worry much the first week, but once the next week started the possibility of a family visit or sickness became lower. In his mind, something far more sinister could be happening, causing him to begin to worry as week 2 was coming to a close.
During his free periods, Harry wandered the school grounds looking for any trace of the missing Slytherin. He even went to Pansy, who shrugged her shoulders and expressed her equal concern. She began to join his escapades. Seamus soon joined too, feeling as though he wasn’t doing enough for his friend. Slowly the search group grew until it was Harry, Pansy, Seamus, Dean, Blaise, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Neville, and Cho. A year ago it would have been an unlikely group but now everyone was on the same terms and had the same goal.
This behavior also didn’t go unnoticed by the teachers either. Particularly the dungeon dweller who thought it prudent to question the strange behavior. “Potter,” Harry heard his name and turned to see Professor Snape, “what are you doing stalking around like that?”
“Professor, we are looking for Draco, he’s been missing for almost 2 1/2 weeks. We are worried some of the other students might’ve done something bad to him!” Pansy interjected. Snape looked at the group his gay softening bit, “why didn’t you think to ask me, Miss Parkinson I am his godfather after all,” he said. Pansy opened her mouth and closed it before mumbling, “I didn’t think about that sir.”
“Does this mean you know where he is professor?” Harry asked, looking at the man expectantly. “Of course, I know where he is. At the moment he’s visiting his father in Azkaban and checking in on his mother, whose mental health is less than perfect currently. She has been lonely and she can’t go out much, as you know the world isn’t looking too kindly on the families of death eaters.” Harry nodded.
“Now scurry along go to Hogsmeade or something, Draco will be back soon.” They all breathed a sigh of relief and headed back towards the courtyard shouting thank yous as they left. When they arrived they made plans to hang out and welcome the pale boy back.
