Chapter 17
"Malfoy!" Draco groans and cuddles his pillow. "Leave me alone. I don't want to do whatever it is you're doing." Ron huffs and calls for Harry. "Harry! Wake this prick up will you?" Harry chuckles and softly knocks on the door. "Can I come in?" Draco hums. "Not that it will change anything." Harry rolls his eyes with a fond smile and walks in. He sits down at the end of the bed and looks at Draco. "Are you okay?" He shakes his head and snuggles his spare pillow. "Feel sick." Harry frowns. "Hermione can do a check up charm?" Draco shakes his head and rubs his belly. "I know where it is. Stomach ache. Little headache too." Harry pouts and sighs softly. "Was it something you ate?" He shrugs a little and closes his eyes when the pain gets worse. "I'm not sure. Probably. I've had it since..." Harry frowns. "Since when?" Draco lets out the softest groan and squeezes the blanket. "Azkaban." Harry shivers at the name and frowns. "What did they give you...?" Draco scoffs at the memory. "Rain water and old bread." Harry's eyes go wide at the blonde guys words. "Draco there could be something seriously wrong with you." He softly says, deciding on keeping his tone down so nobody will overhear and Draco won't shut down. Some days ago, when Draco was talking about stuff that had happened in the manor, Hermione got angry because she couldn't believe how Draco was treated. He shut down completely after hearing her change in tone and didn't really say much of anything anymore. Harry didn't know where the reaction came from yet but he knew Draco would tell him eventually. "Hmh hmh. I'm still alive." Harry scoffs. "You're in pain..." He didn't realize what he was doing, until he did it. His hand made contact with Draco's bare shoulder. Draco shivers as goosebumps spread over his body, while heart nearly explodes. "Let me help you. Please." Draco bites his lip hard, and Harry's heart breaks when he sees blood. Why does he keep doing that? Does he seriously not feel the pain? "How?" Harry shrugs and gently rubs his shoulder. "However you want me to... I can go to the apothecary and ask for something against a bellyache but I'd rather have you go to St. Mungo's. I want to be sure you're okay and don't want to make you swallow pills that could burn a hole through your stomach and what not." Draco chuckles lowly. "They won't want to treat me." Harry frowns. "That's bullshit, of course they will." Draco hums. "I'm a death eater, I'm the reason so many good people ended up there." Harry sighs. "You are not the reason, I could've walked you through those halls and there wouldn't be one person you'd see that was there because of you." Draco ignores the comment and tries to ignore the pain in his stomach too. It's easier to ignore Harry, sadly. "Can I please just have a doctor come over?" Draco hums and scrunches up his face. "Sure. If that'll make you feel better." Draco snaps. As if Harry is the one needing help? He was the one being in pain. Harry let's go of Draco's shoulder and looks down while holding back a sigh. He hated it when Draco got snappy. Especially when all he was trying to do was help him. "I'll leave you to it then. Can I close the door when I leave?" Harry asks while walking to the door. Draco shivers at the loss of contact and sighs. "I didn't mean it like that. I'm sorry..." With Harry's warmth gone, it feels like his body is being submerged in ice. "It's fine." Draco gasps when a stinging feeling takes over his stomach and arches his back in pain. Harry runs back over And sits down beside him. "It's not fine." He grits between his teeth while panting. "You need a doctor Draco-." He growls and looks right into Harry's concerned eyes. "I meant you. It's not fine. I didn't mean it like that." Harry's eyes soften as he nods. "I know, I know you didn't. It's okay. I promise." Why he was being so reassuring was beyond him. Draco wasn't in love with him, yes there had been some tension between them over the past week but that surely didn't come from sexual desires. It wasn't as if Harry had just broken his heart. Though it seemed to work because Draco calmed down. "Okay." He softly says. Harry smiles weakly and fights the urge to wipe a strand of hair out of Draco's face. "So that doctor..." Draco lets out a breathless chuckle. "If he doesn't want to treat me you're paying for the visit." Harry rolls his eyes in an amused way and hums. "Whatever you say."
"He should rest. Give him this potion twice every week. Monday and Thursday on an empty stomach. It'll strengthen his stomach wall. These are herb tablets, he should take them before bed every day. They'll change the pH of the acid so his stomach gets a break. Then this is the last potion, he needs to take this after everything he eats because it'll help to break it down since the pH is not able to do that properly. He should improve in two weeks. If not, call me immediatly." Harry nods while Hermione writes everything down. "That'll be a hundred and fifty galleons." Harry gets the money out of his safe and pays the doctor, before seeing him out and going to Draco with the new information."he said-." "Did you pay him?" Harry frowns and nods. "Yes, he said to take-." Draco turns around with a scrunched up face and looks at Harry in pain. "How much is it?" Harry raises his eyebrow and shakes his head. "Could you please let me finish first? Before I forget and accidentally poison you." Draco lets out a breathless laugh and nods. "Fine." Harry smiles And starts his explanation while Draco takes mental notes. "Thank you, now we should go to gringotts so I can pay you back." Harry shakes his head instantly. "No-." Draco raises his eyebrow. "Potter, Im paying you back." Harry crosses his arms and stares at him until he stops talking and gets comfy again. "Thank you. No, you staying here until you're better. We'll go to Gringotts when you're able to walk properly and settle the money later. Focus on getting better first, okay? I know I'll get the money back, and even if I don't. I don't mind." Draco frowns and hums softly. He wasn't used to being in debt with someone. Everyone he'd had money conversations with, always wanted the money back immediatly. "I'm paying you back. But okay." Harry smiles and nods. "As you wish. Now rest, okay?" Draco hums and snuggles the pillow again. If only he could hold someone, preferably Harry, instead. Feel the warmth, hear his breathing... it would make all of this a little more bearable. "Thank you." Harry smiles and walks back out. "Harry?" His heart did a double take, Draco said his name. It had felt like ages since that last happened. "Yes?" "Don't close the door please." Harry nods with a fond smile and turns off the lights. The room turns dark but the sunbeams and the hallway light keep it faintly lit. Just the way Draco liked it. "Thank you." Harry breathes in deeply while his heart swells with love. "Sleep well Draco." He softly said, but he didn't get an answer to that anymore. Draco was fast asleep, cuddling the pillow with a scrunched up face. Harry hated seeing him in pain, but somehow Draco still looked beautiful.
