Chapter 14
The next time Harry visited Andromeda, he found Narcissa and Draco there too.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to -”
“You’re not interrupting,” Andromeda clucked, shepherding him in and handing him Teddy in a surprisingly Molly-like way.
“Wow, he’s - he’s really grown,” Harry said, somewhat alarmed by the baby’s alertness and increased weight.
“Yes, he’s drinking such a lot,” Andromeda enthused. Harry perched awkwardly, adjusting Teddy as he wriggled back into the seat.
“Hi,” Harry said somewhat awkwardly to Draco and Narcissa, who were both staring at him. “Er - how are you?”
“My father has been caught and we have received letters to tell us we will be summoned in due course, and caught too if we try and scarper,” Draco summarised succinctly. “So as things go, pretty good. What happened to your face?”
“Draco,” Narcissa hissed, but Harry laughed.
“Like it?” He asked. “Apparently, it’s been like this the whole time, just under charms bound to blood relatives.”
“I like it more than your old face,” Draco replied with a return to his old swagger. “So you have blood relatives now?”
“Yep. Too many to even count,” Harry said, smiling. “Bit of a departure from the poor orphan I thought I was. Surprise, by the way - we’re cousins.”
Narcissa’s mouth opened. Draco choked. Harry shifted Teddy onto his other arm and waved.
“Bellatrix?” Narcissa breathed to Andromeda.
“And Regulus,” she murmured back. Harry continued to eye Draco.
Then they said together, “Blacks and their cousins,” and both burst into laughter.
Harry thought it might be the most surreal moment of his life, but nevertheless, one he would cherish.
