She helped to found the Hogwarts Gazette as a way to steer her future career as a writer in the Wizarding World. Although often in the background, Samantha found a way to be present for all of the action.Only slight breaks of canon. Cedric Diggory-A Tribute from the members of The Hogwarts Gazette

-Samantha Fyre

Cedric Diggory was a founding member of the Hogwarts Gazette, serving as the Sports Editor from 1993-1994. He was not only a talented journalist and Quidditch player, but he was also a gentle and kind soul. Always willing to help others, always willing to contribute, and he was always a team player.

It was a real blow to the team when Cedric chose to step down from his position as Sports Editor so as to focus fully on his role as Hogwarts Champion. Everyone was excited to support him in his endeavors.

No one could have expected to lose him the way we did. He leaves behind loving parents, a devoted girlfriend, and of course many friends. Everyone on the Gazette considered themselves lucky to have known him.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Samantha sat speechless, looking at a tribute piece she'd written.

He couldn't be, he couldn't be dead.

Not Cedric.

They were friends.

He couldn't be dead.

She'd originally planned to do a profile on the winner, but everyone unanimously agreed they should focus on Cedric. Also after getting to know Harry, she knew he wouldn't want to take away anything from Cedric. She'd heard from Ginny that he'd practically tried to dump the money on everyone he knew.

Dumbledore said that You-Know-Who had killed Cedric.

Was he really back?

The idea terrified her.

What did this mean?

She felt arms around her shoulders. Ginny was hugging her from behind. "You alright Sam?"

Samantha shook her head and felt the tears falling. "No, I'm not."
