It’s a scary thing to wake up in a bedroom that isn’t yours. And for the first few moments after waking up, Remus was sure he had been transported to some sort of parallel universe. But slowly, all the memories of Sirius and previous night came back to him, and for the first time in a long time, Remus was actually excited to go to breakfast.

Regulus’s dorm in the morning was certainly much different than the Marauders dorm in the morning. Instead of being loud and chaotic, it was strangely peaceful.

Regulus’s bed was made perfectly and he was nowhere to be seen. Someone, most likely Evan, was in the shower, and Barty was sleeping quietly two beds away.

As Remus got out of bed, he came to a realization, he didn’t have any of his own clothes. As he sat there, debating whether or not he should go back to his dorm and get some clothes, the door opened and Regulus entered with a short blonde girl.

The girl, Remus thought her name was Pandora, smiled as soon as she saw him. Wordlessly, she walked up to him and held out what looked to be folded up clothes. He was confused but took them nonetheless, and was pleasantly surprised to realize they were his.

“Um…thanks. But uh how did you get these?” Remus asked.

“It was easy,” the girl smiled, “there was no one in the dorm and Gryffindors are extremely unobservant.”

“Oh ok.” Remus said, still very confused. “But how did you get in the common room? And how did you know which dorm was mine? And how-”

“Some red headed girl helped us.” Regulus answered, “Evans I think.”

“Lily?” Remus said, very surprised. He never thought Lily would just help two people get into his room, but then again Lily was smart and she probably knew something was going on.

“Well, thank you I guess.” Remus smiled. He waited for a moment for Regulus and Pandora to leave so that he could change, but instead they just stood there. Pandora watched him expectantly and he glanced at Regulus, who seemed to take the hint.

“Right uh, Dora and I will go wait in the common room for you.” Regulus said grabbing Pandora’s arm and draging her toward the door.

“Aw but Reggie,” Pandora complained, “I wanted to see hi-” Regulus slammed the door shut before Remus could hear the end of the sentence.

Laughing softly, Remus began to undress, taking off the pants Barty lent him the night before and slipping on his uniform slacks. He pulled off the shirt he was wearing, one that Evan had claimed was too big but that actually fit Remus pretty well, and as he began to put on his button down he heard someone whistle.

“Isn’t that a lovely sight to wake up to.” Barty smiled from his bed.

“Morning Barty,” Remus laughed, “had a good night?”

“Good night and a better morning thanks to you.” Barty winked, causing Remus to laugh again.

As Remus finished dressing a Barty got up and began to search for his own clothes, the bathroom door open and Evan came out. Remus had never really been into Evan, but he had to admit he did look pretty damn fit in nothing but his slacks, with his hair still dripping wet. Evan walked passed Barty, who hadn’t taken his eyes off Evan since he entered the room, and headed to his trunk to fish out a shirt and his tie.

“Morning Remus, Barty.” Evan said nodding at them.

“Morning,” Remus spoke, his voice cracking slightly. Barty didn’t even respond, he just stood and watched Evan out of the corner of his eye.

The three of them finished getting dressed before heading down to the common room, where Regulus and Pandora sat on a couch reading a copy of the Daily Prophet.

“Anything good?” Evan asked gesturing to the paper.

“Same old boring bullshit.” Regulus answered, tossing the paper aside. “Ready to go?” He asked, standing.

“We’ve gotta wait for Cas.” Barty said, and as if on cue someone from behind Remus spoke.

“I’m literally right here.”

Remus jumped and turned around to see Dorcas Meadows standing directly behind him. He didn’t know her personally but he knew of her, Marlene had liked her for years. Dorcas locked eyes with him for a second, if she was confused as to why he was there, she didn’t show it. She simply stepped around him and headed out of the common room in to the hell way. The rest followed her and made small talk along the way about quidditch, classes, and other things. Remus didn’t join in, just listened, but he was happy to do so.

As they neared the great hall, Remus began to feel anxious. He was trying to get back at his friends, but what if they didn’t care? What if they didn’t even notice? He was so caught up in his thought he didn’t even notice Regulus had come to walk beside him until he spoke.

“You’re freaking out.” Regulus observed.

“I did this all for revenge Regulus, but what if they don’t notice, and worse what if they don’t care?”

“They’ll care.” Regulus said simply, “they’re your friends and they’re stupid and sentimental, so they’ll care. And don’t worry about them not noticing because I have no doubt that they will.”

“How can you be sure?” Remus asked, still internally panicking.

“Well for one thing, they’ll be on high alert since you didn’t go back last night.” Regulus answered, “also they’re always watching us. Every day McKinnon stares at Cas and vice-versa, Potter does it too, always glancing over, no idea why. And Sirius always stares me down for at least a minute at every meal. Trust me, they’ll notice.”

They reached the Great Hall, and entered, heading towards the Slytherin table. At first nothing was different, Barty turned around to brag that Slytherin was going to win the House Cup for the third year in a row, which Remus and Pandora quickly disagreed with. They reached the table and sat down, Barty to Remus’s right, and Regulus on his left. Remus was in the middle of telling Barty that the Slytherin quidditch team was worse than it had ever been, when Regulus nudged Remus with his elbow.

Remus turned to Regulus, who nodded toward the Gryffindor table. Across the hall, Marlene was staring at him, looking absolutely taken aback. With out taking her eyes off Remus she said something to the others. James turned to her, and after looking confused for a moment, he followed her eyes to look in the same direction she was. He locked eyes with Remus and for a second, they did nothing. Just sat there staring at each other.

Then, all hell broke loose.

James turned to Sirius and Peter, who were in some kind of an argument, he got their attention and pointed at Remus. Remus and Sirius locked eyes, a beat passed, and then Sirius’s mouth fell open and he stood up. James and Peter immediately grabbed him and he started saying something, probably cursing at them. This got the attention of both Lily and Mary, who listened for a moment before their eyebrows shot up and they turned to look at Remus. Sirius and James were arguing now, James held one of Sirius’s wrists while Sirius tried to pull away. He pointed at Remus several times and waved his hand around very dramatically. James kept shaking his head and glancing over at Remus as he spoke to Sirius. Peter too had joined in, making comments here and there that would either make Sirius nod in agreement, or flip him off and try to pull away from James. Mary and Marlene had also began talking, every so often glancing at Remus.

Amid all this confusion, it was Lily who stood up and calmly began to walk over to Remus. The others were so distracted but their conversations, they didn’t even notice. The Slytherins (and Pandora) were getting a kick out of this. Evan, Barty, and Dorcas were laughing so hard they were practically crying. Regulus watched with a wide smile on his face, laughing softly. And even Pandora was snickering watching the scene unfold. Remus didn’t even really notice Lily until she tapped him on the shoulder.

“Remus can I talk to you for a moment?” She asked

Out of everyone at the Gryffindor table, she was the only one he felt he really could talk to. He nodded and followed her away from the Slytherin table and out of the Great Hall.

“So, this is about Sirius then?” She said, cutting straight to the point.

“Lily I can’t stand to be around him, any of them really.” Remus explained, “They keep telling me to forgive him and I can’t I just-”

“Remus I’m not judging you.” Lily interrupted, “honestly I think it’s great that you’re separating yourself from them. I just want to make sure your ok.”

Lovely Lily, always understanding. Remus now felt stupid for ever doubting that she just wanted what was best for him.

“I’m great Lily.” He reassured her, “at least I’m better than I’ve been in days and that’s something.”

“Ok.” She nodded, still looking slightly concerned. She began to walk back towards the Hall but she stopped for a moment, turned, and said, “by the way, James and Sirius have quidditch practice later, around 5, and Peter is gonna watch. Good opportunity for someone to go grab their belongings so that I don’t have to help sneak Slytherins in.” And with that she walked back into the Great Hall.

Remus, too went back in, and headed to the Slytherin table, where he found Sirius in the middle of an argument with Regulus.

“I don’t care,” Sirius was all but shouting, “you can’t just do this it’s not fair.”

“He’s his own person and he’s making this choice himself.” Regulus answered, barely even looking at Sirius.

“YOU ARE DOING THIS! ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!” Sirius shouted.

“My fault?” Regulus said, now slightly upset, “I am not the idiot that-”

“Regulus,” Remus interrupted him, not sure he wanted to know how the rest of that sentence was going to go.

“REMUS OH THANK MERLIN!” Sirius turned around and immediately tried to hug Remus. “I was so worried, c’mon you don’t have to sit here with them you can come to the Gryffindor table and have breakfast with us!”

“Yeah thanks but no.” Remus said, pulling his arm out of Sirius’s grasp and sitting back down in his old spot.

“I- you….no?” Sirius stammered. “Remus what…what do you mean no you have to, I mean you can’t just…no?”

Before Remus could respond, Barty turned around a spoke.

“He said no Black. Go back to your own table.”

Sirius stood there, mouth open, eyes flicking between Remus and Barty.

“Remus? You can’t seriously just stay here.”

“You heard him Black,” Dorcas now turned to look at Sirius, “go away before we make you.”

Sirius stood there for a moment longer, but as Dorcas began to reach for her wand and Sirius saw that she was infact, not kidding, he quickly turned and went back to the Gryffindor table. Once he sat down he didn’t take his eyes off Remus, and if looks could kill Remus would already be six feet under.

Other than that, breakfast went pretty well. Regulus said some rather rude words about Sirius, which made them all laugh. Then Evan, Dorcas, and Barty got into an argument, Remus wasn’t sure why, while Pandora Regulus, and Remus talked about books they had read. Pandora went on for a while about one particularly interesting book she had read but after a bit seemed to come to the realization that it had been a dream she had. Remus advised her to make it into a real book, saying that he would definitely read it. Then, someone brought up the weekend and Dorcas mentioned that Hufflepuff was having a party on Saturday.

“We should go!” Barty said, eyes lighting up with excitement.

“No.” Regulus answered. That made sense, if Reus knew one thing about Regulus, it was that parties were not his kind of thing.

“Aww come on Reggie you have to come.” Barty complained. “I know how this works, if you don’t go then Cas and Evan won’t go. And not that I don’t love Pandora, because I do, but if I go with her I’ll end up losing her which is such a pain in the ass.”

“Make Lupin go with you then.” Regulus said. “Help him find an easy shag so he can get over my idiot brother.”

“If that’s what we’re doing then I want to come.” Evan spoke up.

“Same,” Dorcas said, “and if all of us go then you have to come Reg.”

“No. I do not.” Regulus said, standing and gathering his things.

“Yeah, but you will anyways.” Pandora said, smiling at him as he flipped her off and walked away.

Slowly, they began to get up and gather their things for class. And just as it Remus that he did not have any of his books and he was going to have to go back to his dorm, as if on cue, Lily Evans appeared behind him, holding his bag.

He walked with her to transfiguration, their fist class of the day, and sat down in the back next to her. Sirius and the others entered shorty after, all watching him as they passed.

For the entirety of that class, and every class for that matter, Sirius shot Remus dirty looks.

Remus was honestly surprised by the sheer audacity. The fact that Sirius could do something so horrible to Remus and then be angry because Remus didn’t want to talk to him was honestly ridiculous and only made Remus angrier. Safe to say that by the time classes ended and Remus got back to the dorm, he was practically shaking with rage.

He slammed the door behind him, startling Evan, who was sitting on his bed working on homework.

“Bad day Lupin?” He asked raising an eyebrow.

“Fuck Sirius Black.” Remus said, like that answered the question. It didn’t,and he knew that, but he was too angry to think of anything else.

“Ah so it was a bad day.” Evan said, putting his book and quill to the side.

“I mean, that utter dickhead. He has the audacity to be mad at me? After what he did! Where the fuck does he get off?” Remus bitched.

“Don’t worry to much about it Lupin, it’s his loss” Evan told him, “On Saturday we’ll find you a nice and fit bloke, he’ll take you mind off things and drive Sirius crazy.”

“I don’t want to wait till Saturday,” Remus said, now feeling like a little kid pouting over not getting the toy he wanted. “I want to make him crazy now. I wanna drive him as insane as he can go.”

“Mhm,” Evan nodded, “and how do you want to do that?” He had crossed the room now and come to sit beside Remus on his bed.

“No idea.” Remus said, though that was clearly a lie and they both knew it.

Remus wasn’t really sure what happened. Because one second he and Evan were sitting there, on his bed, just looking at each other with Evan’s question hanging in the air. Then, all at once, his lips were on Evan’s, and, fuck they were soft. His hand slid to the back of Evan’s neck, pulling him closer. The blonde boy swayed foward, and braced one hand on Remus’s thigh to keep himself from falling foward.

Remus’s teeth grazed Evan’s bottom lip, causing Evan to release a soft noise from the back of his throat. Remus moaned quietly as he slipped his tongue into Evan’s mouth. He didn’t even noticed they had moved, until suddenly, Evan was flat on his back and Remus was straddling him. His hands braced on either side of Evan’s head, while the shorter boy fisted his hands in Remus’s hair.

Remus bit Evans lip again, causing Evan to moan and buck his hips up into Remus. In turn, Remus grinded down into Evan and released his own utterly obscene moan.

Evan’s lips slid down to Remus’s neck, and he began kissing, sucking, and bitting at the sensitive skin along Remus’s throat.

“Holy fuck, Evan” Remus hissed, capturing Evan’s mouth in another kiss.

Remus used one hand to run his fingertips down along Evans neck, down to his chest and then his stomach, stopping at the waistband of his pants. Evan, once again, raised his hips and Remus pushed them back down onto the bed.

Just as Remus found the button on Evan’s slacks and began to undo it, the door burst open and they were greeted with someone shouting, “Oh fuck gross!”

Both boys immediately jumped apart and turned to face Dorcas standing in the doorway looking thoroughly grossed out.

“I would say get a room, but it seems you’ve already done that.” She said, watching as they each tried to fix their hair and Evan re-buttoned his pants.

“What do you want Dorcas?” Evan asked, sounding rather pissed off. Remus couldn’t lie, he too was pretty disappointed.

“Just wanted some help with my potions homework. But if this is a bad time…”

“No,” Remus said. “No, now is fine.”

As much as he did want to shag Evan, in the long run it would only cause more issues than it would solve. So instead, he pulled out his potions book and began to look over Dorcas’s homework, while Evan went back to his own bed, and all three of them tried to ignore what had just happened.
