Chihuahua's Are Terrifying
The drive back into town wasn't long, but it definitely didn't feel short with all the questions Anya and Akemi were asking, such as:
"Dorako, why's tha' your name?" Anya questioned, red eyes wide in anticipation for his answer.
Draco sighed in the front seat, shoulders dropping slightly in exasperation. "Because dragons are a feared and respected creature in our culture, and an Omikuji told Mum while she was pregnant that I needed a fearsome name to go along with my future personality, whatever that means, so Mum named me Draco, which is another word for dragon in some languages."
"Oh... The' why didn't she name you Ryujin?" Evidently it was Akemi's turn to question.
Draco sighed once more and answered, "I don't know, maybe she wanted me to be like all of the dragons, not just Ryujin. Why don't you ask Mum-"
"Draco?" The white headed girl asked.
Draco took in a deep breath and tried not to respond through gritted teeth, his Mother taught him manners. "...Yes, Anya?" He was only half human.
"We're hungry." She stated.
"Yeah..." Akemi agreed.
Draco breathed in deeply through his nose, trying to get some oxygen through his blood stream and to his head before more of his braincells died.
"That's why we're going to Cantina del Valle de la Muerte to get food." He said in a surprisingly calm voice.
Fred composed himself to not laugh throughout the interaction, as he knew Draco had been having a bad day.
"Wait," Hermione chimed in from the backseat. "I thought we were going to a restaurant named Abuela's?"
Draco's tension relieved slightly, though not much. "No, they only call it that because their- our Abuela owns the bar. She's our Dad's Mum." He explained.
Fred tried not to internally panic, he really did, but the idea of having to meet another family member of Draco's on day two of actually dating was sending him into cardiac arrest.
"Ooohhh... Okay." She responded, thankfully not pushing further like the twins were doing.
The rest of the 7 minute car ride was fairly quiet, aside from the idle chatter and small talk in the backseats.
Draco efficiently parallel parked the car in front of a two story brick building, people flooding out through the doors as a few others piled in. The building looked old but cared for, a few bricks missing here and there, yet still standing proudly as if new.
Draco let out a long sigh as he heard unbuckling from the backseat as everyone was getting out, leaving just him and Fred seated next to each other.
"Hey, Draco?" Fred had asked while turning to face him in the seat.
"Yeah?" He responded, turning his head in Fred's direction to look at him with kind eyes.
"Do... Do ye think tha' she'll like me? Yer Abuela, Ah mean." He hesitantly asked, nervous for the answer.
Draco just smiled at him with that beautiful, reassuring smile. "I don't know, but I have a feeling she'll like you more than she likes Dad."
The smile helped, the words not so much. "She doesnae like yer Da'?"
Fred felt a slight heat rush to his face at the chuckle he received in response. "Nah, she loves Dad, she just loves that little demon spawn she calls a pet more. You'll probably be somewhere in the middle with the rest of us."
"She 'as a demon for a pet?" Fred asked, amusement flashing in his eyes at the thought of an elderly woman walking around with a demon on a leash.
Draco laughed, and Merlin did the sound make Fred want to kiss him, like a siren call.
"She might as well. When I was around four, she got a pet Chihuahua, mean little shit. Only people he's nice to is Abuela and the girls, he hates Mum, more than he hates me, which is a lot. "
Joking always calmed Fred's nerves, hense the next comment."Ya scared of a wee doggie, love?" He asked with raised eyebrows and an obvious smirk.
Draco's face got red in embarrassment. "Oh, shuddup, ya wanker!"
Fred couldn't help the laugh that finally bubbled out of his throat.
Draco's face got a little redder as he nudged Fred's side in warning.
"C'mon," The fake blonde began, "let's go get something to eat."
With that, they climbed out the car and walked towards the doors and inside where everyone else waited to be seated, bumping shoulders as they went.
Mr. Weasley seemed to be trying to explain something to the waitress in charge of the seating arrangements, until she caught sight of Draco and smiled brightly at him.
She uttered an, "Un minuto, señor." Before running up to Draco and hugging him tightly, the blonde reciprocating the hug with a chuckle.
"Draco, ha pasado demasiado tiempo. Escuché que te vas a casar, ¿es eso cierto?" She asked as she pulled back from Draco slightly.
She was pretty, Fred could admit it. She had waist length curly black hair and dark brown eyes, tan freckled skin and what some may call a perfect hourglass body. He tried not to feel jealous when Draco smiled at her with a warth even he hasn't received.
"Sí, originalmente fue solo para que pudiera obtener mi herencia, pero él me hace muy feliz, pero todavía no sé por qué." Draco responded while gesturing to Fred.
The woman smiled at him with eyes full of understanding, as if they were close and she knew everything about Draco.
"Lamento que tengas que pasar por eso, pero estoy feliz si eres feliz." She said to him, ending her sentence by standing on the tips of her toes and kissing his forehead.
Fred tried not to feel jealous, he really did, but he couldn't help the possessive feeling curling uncomfortably in his gut at the gesture.
