Well, So much For That Idea..... MCDONALD'S
When the two of them had returned to the kids seating area, everyone was there. Surprisingly, nobody had committed crimes and they were all awake and listening to Anya and Akemi tell their story about how school was and how they are the smartest kids in their class.
When Fred and Draco walked back into the kids area, all eyes were on them.
"So?" Mrs. Weasley asked with a smile, apparently now happy with her son's decision.
Fred and Draco looked at each other for a minute before Draco pulled him back out of the room and closed the door. "What do we tell them?! Are we going to get married, are we not going to get married?"
"I mean you don't have to go through with the marriage if you don't want to...." Fred explained, saddened from the previous events and the possibility that Draco doesn't want to be with him.
"Wait.... Do you want too? Like do you actually WANT to be with me.... not just because of business or politics...?"
Fred looked up at him with glassy eyes, he could feel his heart breaking. He figured there was no way that Draco was actually gay, and even if he was, why would he want to be with him? So, he thought, why not just come clean about it all.
"Mal- Draco." he started. " I've been madly in love with you since I was 16 years old. I would give up everything that I have built for myself just to take you out on a date and treat you like a fucking person, like you deserve. I love you so much it physically hurts me to think about you with somebody else."
".......But..W-why me?" Draco's voice was barely above a whisper.
"What?"
"Why me...? All I have ever done to you or your family is treat you like shit. I'm a horrible person who has done and said horrible things.....And you're fucking Fred Weasley. Do you know how many people would want to marry you? Be with you? And instead you choose me, for some unknown reason, because I'm what.....pretty or something!? Hate to break it to you, but I don't even really look like this it's a fucking glamour."
" I know you where glamours, I've seen you without them and you are down right stunning." They were really happy no one was in the front office right now and that the door to the kids room was to thick to listen in through. " I know you have said shitty things, but you apologized profusely in the letters you sent all of us. Believe it or not 'Mione was practically in tears by the time she got done reading her's. And I know that you didn't do all of those things because you wanted to, okay? All of that shit was Lucius Malfoy's fault. You only did it because you were a kid and you were scared. It doesn't change the fact that what you said hurt, but at least you have the decency to apologize and admit what you did was wrong. And your not like that, I know your not-"
Draco looked like he could cry. Never in his life had the poor boy been seen like this. But it still scared him."You don't know shit about me."
Fred put his hands on the blonde boy's shoulders and began again. " When Umbridge was at large, George and I were walking down the halls of Hogwarts looking for new ways to get back at her. When all of a sudden we heard crying coming from the bathroom in the dungeons. We decided that we should probably comfort the person, but when we walked in we saw you already doing that. It was a little girl, maybe a 2nd or 3rd year Hufflepuff, and she had reminiscents of a detention with Umbridge. She had slurs cut into her wrists. There were racist words, and there was the word that people, for some reason, use against muggle-born people.
"Instead of leaving her there or just making fun of her, you healed her and bandaged her wrists. You comforted her and talked about muggle music and art..." Fred right hand was holding the side of Draco's neck, he flinched from the contact but didn't move it away.
"....H-...How do you know what I look like...?" A silent tear rolled down his face. No one but his Father had seen his real face in years, or so he thought. The only reason he was ever aloud to not wear glamours at home was because Lucius Malfoy liked to see the disappointment of a son he got instead of the one he wanted. Of course this only drove his fists to hit harder, his tounge to be sharper, and his cane to be more firm.
Fred wiped the tear away and took a deep breath. "When it was my last day at Hogwarts, I wanted to say goodbye to thehouse elves in the kitchens. When I got there I saw you talking to them as if you had been friends with them for years. You were cooking while listening to old muggle songs about love. I think the records said 'Dean Martin' and another one said it was 'Frank Sinatra'. You were singing and dancing along with the music and your glamours we're off. All I could think about was how beautiful and handsome you looked. You looked happy. I vowed from that day on that I would make you smile like you did then."
They just stood in silence for a minute before Draco got the courage to say something. " Do you really think about me like that or is this some stupid prank to get back at me for acting like an asshole?"
"It's not a joke, or a prank. This is the one thing I think even I wouldn't joke about. If you don't want to get married anymore I understand. But just know if you did decide to be with me, and I mean actually get married like a real couple in love, then I will cherish you and protect you with my whole being. Your wish is my command, darling."
Draco's face heated up at the nickname, and damn it if Fred pocketed that information for later use, it was nobody's business but his own. " It sounds nice...... But I'm just warning you, I'm really bad at expressing my feelings and I've litterly never been in a real relationship before. So if I fuck up, I'm sorry..... "
"...Is that a yes...?" Fred felt hopeful.
"Mmm.....yeah, sure... As long as you...y'know... Don't cheat on me or something."
Fred hugged him and spun around with Draco in his arms. "I would never do that to you, love!!!"
"Okay, okay just put me down..." The blondes face was red with embarrassment.
Fred gave his love one more tight squeeze before reluctantly putting him down. "So what are we going to tell them?" Draco asked, he looked a little uncomfortable but you could tell he was trying.
"No idea, but we should probably go now." Draco hummed in agreement and opened the door to the kids room. As soon as they did all eyes were back on them. "Okay....uh... Draco was able to get the house in his name so that's good...." Mrs. Malf- she wasn't a Malfoy anymore, Narcissa let out a breath she nobody knew she was holding. "And..um.... we can't get married today, but we have a scheduled meeting with the Veelan officiant in a month."
Mr. Weasley chimes in and asked, "Are you two still going to want to get married, even though you have to wait a month?"
"Yes." Fred stated, without further thought. They all looked to Draco and he just shrugged. Seemingly satisfied with that answer, Mr. Weasley nodded.
"And it will give us time to actually get to know each other before the marriage, plus we get to plan a wedding." Fred stated, smile growing on his freckled face.
"Are you two actually going to be dating??" Both the little girls asked at the same time.
Fred just smiled more and nodded his head, while Draco burried his red face in his hands.
"Right then," Narcissa got up and clapped her hands. " Now that that's settled. Who want McDonald's?!" She asked the children.
They squeeled in delight and quickly got up to hug their Mother's legs.
