“I like that.” Wanda replies, looking Nat up and down. “Do you?” Natasha pokes, following Wanda’s eyes. Wanda is instantly flustered by Natasha’s look, and jolts back up into reality. “Where.. Where are the plates?” She stumbles. “Right up here.” Natasha says, reaching up above Wanda and grabbing two ceramic plates. Wanda is stuck under Nat, starting to sweat.
She has that scent of metal again, though, it’s more on the bloody side now.

“There you go.” She stretches down and hands Wanda a plate as she glances at the half cut cucumber.  “I’m gonna finish this up.” Natasha chuckles. It started to get awkward as the room got warmer, yet Wanda was trembling. In fear? No, I’d hope not. “What are you planning to do today?” Wanda asks, trying to strike up a conversation. “I’m not sure. I went to the gym earlier today, not too long before I woke you up. I was thinking about going to the store or something. Would you want to come with me?” Nat smiles.

“Aren’t we supposed to stay within the Avengers Campus? I don’t want Tony to get angry at you. Or me, for that matter.” Wanda worries. “So what,” Natasha begins, cutting the cucumbers. “He won’t know. He doesn’t have a tracker on you or anything.” “Really? I thought otherwise.” She laughs. She did genuinely think that Stark had put a tracking device somewhere on her. Seemed like something he would do.

“Okay, well, what do you say? We won’t go too far. It’s just a farmer’s market thing.” “Do we have to fly there?” Natasha laughs at Wanda’s response. “Of course not. If we did, would you be willing to carry me?” “Hm..” Wanda thinks about how that would look. She’d love to, but isn’t sure she can even fly like that. “Probably not. That’s why Tony makes jets, right?” “Yeah, sure.”

Natasha lays out the cucumbers onto the cutting board with a side of vinegar and salt mixed together to make a foul-smelling, yet tasty dipping sauce. “I hope you like your cucumber’s salty, Maximoff.” She smiles. “Thanks. My mama used to make this as a snack for me before she-” Before she died. Wanda still misses her parents just as much as she did when they first died. Without them, she’s like a garden without rain. There was only one person who could water her, and he’s gone now, too.

“-When I was young.” She finishes. “You can be honest with me, you know. I don’t want you to think that I’m just here because I was assigned to you. I’m here for you, Wanda.” Natasha assures her. Something about having someone care for Wanda again made her feel warm. Made her feel comfortable in a space she’d only been in for about a week.

“Thank you, Natasha.” She starts to tear up a little. Wanda walks towards Natasha as her arms wrap around Nat's slim, sturdy torso. “You’re grieving, Wanda. You don’t have to be as strong as you think you do.” Natasha says, stroking the back of Wanda’s hair. “You’d be a great mother, Natasha.” She says, chuckling as she wipes her tears and pulls back from their embrace. “And a great wife.” She smiles.

“I wish I could be a mother, everyday.” Natasha looks up at the ceiling, refraining from having any sort of tears fall down her face. Wanda tries to get into her mind so that Natasha doesn’t have to talk about it out loud. “I’m so sorry, Natasha.” Wanda says, bringing down the Widow’s chin with her index and thumb. “You’re still a great caretaker, if that makes it any better.” “I’d hope so.” They laugh. “I’m sorry to make you so sad this early. I didn’t mean to.” Wanda sighs. “It’s okay, I promise you. It’s better to talk about this kind of stuff so that we can break the ice.” Natasha smirks. “You’re kind for a super spy.” Wanda jokes. “Thanks, I think. You should start digging in, Maximoff. The market closes at 10, so..” “Will do.” She smiles.
