Rest of the Semester
(Hogwarts; April - June 1977)
James glares at the snake table before glancing at his girlfriend. Thanks to a pensive memory he knew that Snivillious wasnt lying to get his money but now his parents and even mcgonagall wanted him to spend time with the ugly git. It was descovered that sirius had tried to humiliate the boy with a lust potion as well and well... Now james and sirius werent talking, while they agreed that Snivillious was partly to blame for the situation james was now in, they also blamed each other. Sirius never expected james to actually get intimate with the ugly git but in james defense he had been tired of the boy constantly getting close to him and fallowing him around all day. He had thought being intimate would get him to leave james alone.
Days after the meeting with Dumbledore and his oarents james got a suprise gift from his parents, but was disappointed to discover two books on pregnancy. James and sirius also got in alot of trouble for what they did, losing 20 points each and having detention for the rest of the school year.
As for lily, she still was talking to him thankfuly. Luckily lily either didnt know or didnt beleive that Snivillious' child was also james' and to stop a full on duel james wanted to keep it that way. Lily seemed to think she deserved more accomadation then the average pregant student. An old hogwarts rule from the Founders time allows pregnant students to get extra physical help from the Elves and are allowed a few extra days to complete assignments. Lily instead constantly asked james to do the "heavy lifting" so to speak, however it was often hard to juggle both their school supplies even with moving spells. James, happy lily wasnt silent with him, gladly did; even if a few stupid 1st years snickered at him for balancing so much. Lily wanted to be allowed to come to class late without losing points and other stuff. She also made fun of other pregnant students and tried to boss around the younger years (1st and 2nd).
James glances at a quiet remus across from him and tries to vent but the wherewolf refused to listen, chossing to read his book or eat instead. Peter nerviously also picked at his food while avoiding eye-contact. Angry the teen stands and leaves the Great Hall. It wasnt fair that his parents were more intrested in Snivillious then lily and all because the red-head was afraid to tell her parents. But when they found out they would surely disown her and then james could convince his parents to take her in. The problem was how he would break the news of the lust potion to them. If they were disappointed with him making Snivillious sock james didnt want to think of how theyd rract to lily.
The teen sighs as the common-room painting swings open. Why had his best friend ruined his life?

A few weeks later in early May james goes with lily for another appointment and he was happy that theyd get to know more about the child. Although wizarding medical equipment wasnt as high tech as the muggles wizards could still hear the babys heart beat and get a magical photo of the fetus. Unfortunately wizards had yet to figure out how know the gender but james was willing to take what he could get. And sense the two teens were 14 weeks along they would finally get to hear the heartbeat and know how many they were having. Hopefuly one would be a boy for his parents.
When james, lily and dumbledore get to St. Mungos hes surpised to see his parents along with Snivillious, sirius' brother regulus and another slytherin james didnt care to remember the name of.
All the people stare at each other for a moment but then his mother seems to understand the situation and to his shock she actualy smacks his arm while looking at him with more disappointment. James stares at her, she had never laid a hand on him before so for her to do so now was shocking if not hurtful.
But that was nothing compared to lily famious temper as she put the pieces together and stricks him across the face. Before james can say anything, to defend himself, a nurse comes and quickly ushers lily away. Dumbledore and mrs. Potter fallow her. James, not wanting to be hit again by either woman, reluctantly goes with Snivillious, his friends and mr. Potter.
The ussual test and quiestions are done and then, to james' excitment, he gets to hear the babys heartbeat. But... the medi-witch also gives the 5 people a bombshell when she comments that their were three heartbeats. Not including Snivillious' that meant he was pregnant with /twins/. Overwhelmed with happiness james cant help but smile and he puts a hand on the teens stomach. Although he doesnt think about it at the time james is happy that Snivillious dorsnt smack his hand away like lily would when he tries to touch her stomach.
After the serreal moment the medi-witch tells Snivillious and the one adult, james' father, that Snivillious would need to start on bed-rest due to how little the wizarding world knew about male pregnancy. Mr. Potter readily agrees and James is too happy to feel jelious about Snivillious getting to miss the end of school. He also fails to notice how supportive the two snakes were being twoards their friend but at the moment james didnt care, he'd have /twins/ and one could be a boy!
They find out that lily was only having one child and the girl was upset when she found out her former friend was having more. Despite his love for lily james frowns at her attitude; even if she was mad at Snivillious couldn't she be happy for james and his parents? She got even more upset when james' father spoke with the Headmster about Snivillious being on immediate bed-rest. While james didnt like the greasy git, at all, he wanted his heirs to be healthy so he was willing to put up with it. Lily, on the other hand, just rolled her eyes and sarcasticly says, "Im sure his dad will love to hear that he's no-longer going to hogwarts." The response is almost instant as the tall slytherin starts shaking as his face goes pale, or well paler. Without thinking james grips his arm and leads him to a chair, not noticing the angry look everyone else was giving the pretty red-head.
James' father sits beside the teen and offers that Snivillious could spend time at Potter Manor; for a moment james' ussual anger and disgust blooms but one look at the teen noticably large stomach causes james pause and nods in agreement. The slytherin mumbles something to the elderly man that james couldnt hear, before lily speaks with his mother and asks to also stay because "my parents wont like that im not a virgin.", as she blinks away tears. Despite his love for the girl james was annoyed that she would ask, summer break would be so much worse and tenser with the two new teens living with them. And james didnt even want to think about how sirius would react, he was already annoyed that james spent so much time with lily.

The rest of the school year is pretty boring sense Snivillious wasnt at school, and james knew he and sirius couldnt pull pranks on the pure-blood snakes no matter how much sirus wanted to. Instead he continues to help lily while also finally reading the two pregnancy books his parents sent him. One of the books was the limited knowledge wizarding people knew about male pregnancy and james didnt like how low of a chance Snivillious had to survive. Sure he didnt like the ugly, poor, know-it-all however having parents that were so old gave james empathy for kids who lost their parents young and he couldnt imagine his sons being raised without one of their parents.
Lily was still insulting her former friend with her room-mates. She also stopped speaking to james again which annoyed him. However what made james speak up was when she started saying how james' mum would take the kids from Snivillious. Unlike in the muggle world the magical one gave mothers full say in how their kids were raised, especially the younger the kid was. Grandmothers were also given high status but like the wives of kings they prefered to let their husbands to the talking while they worked behind the scenes. While yes his mum certainly would simply take the twins, james liked to beleive she wouldnt do that. Not to mention muggle-borns and half-bloods who didnt know wizarding culture would see his mum in a bad light and james didnt like it.
As they walk to class james speaks up. "Why are you saying that my mum will take the twins from Snivillious? Your making my mum look bad."
"Because she can and will, james. He'll probably have girls too.", lily responds as she absantly rubs her stomach. And james found that amusing sense Snivillious paretns had a son while his future in-laws only had 2 daughters.
"My mum would never take away someone elses kids, and no-one knows what gender the twins will be.", james replys.
Lily glances at him before sighing and says, "James, those kids will be better off with your parents sense Snapes dad is an alcoholic."
That suprises him; sure he knew that Snivillious was poor but to find out one of his aprents had a drinking problem was surpising. That would explain why the boy was so thin, the muggle was probably wasting their money on beer.
Still james didnt like the idea of his sons not having both parents, even if they didnt get along. "My twins deserve to have both parents, lils.", he whispers as he remembers growing up with already old parents and being worried whenever one of them got sick. Sure they tried to sheild him but he could remember see one of them sick in bed more then ounce through the years and that had started up again last year sense last winter his father had a scare which propted them to sit him down amd ask for an heir.
The red-head again glances at him as they near the door of the class-room. "Yes, James, but theirs a chance he'll die, so they might not know him. Besides," here she puts a hand on the door-knob and turns to him. "You need to choose: me or Snivillious."
It happened so quick that james couldnt tell you what happend. Ussualy when someone mentioned Snivilious he would imagine the ugly boys face but in that moment he imagined two little babies, one with black hair and the other with brown but both had his hazel eyes. His arms quicjly became free of the books and other stuff, he takes a step forward and his hand is stinging. He takes a sharp breath in to try and calm down as he comes to his senses and sees lily staring at him wide-eyed as her cheek turns as red as her hair.
He quickly gathers his own books and pushs past her into the class-room. He sits near sirius and is gratful that the boy nodded at him in acknowledgment. James keeps his head down, buired in book as a moment later lily stomps in and sits as far from him as she could. He didnt want to fight with lily but he didnt like the guilt he was feeling knowing he couldnt or wouldnt tell the twins about their "mother". He didnt know much about Sniv- the teen anyway.

James sits by a tree after the final exams. He was alone sense lily refused to be near him and remus was also distant sense everything started, with peter supporting him.
Snivillious kept him updated about the twins development via letters ounce a week. While he loved the updates he was surpised with Snivillious' cold professionalism. One would think the teen was talking about someone elses pregnancy. It didnt help that he never mentioned anything about himself, probably thinking james wouldnt care. To be fair james didnt really care but in case the boy did pass james wanted to know things to tell his- their kids. Lastly the tall teen always started the letter by saying "Mr. Potter", compared to the boys ussual sneer of "Potter".
James grimces slightly at the knowledge that Sniv-Snape was showing him more respect then ever before. Despite being alone by the tree james cant help but feel embarrassed; eventhough he had taken edicate classes at a young age it wasnt enforced at school, Professors were an exception, of course, so any student could essentially get away with calling someone anything. Pure-bloods were a diffrent story and Snape obviously knew that.
James takes a deep breath as he puts the most recent letter to the side. It made him uncomfortable to continue to call the teen "Snivillious" in front of his twins, not to mention his parents this summer. But at the same time he thought calling him "Severus" was too personal. Instead James got out parchmemt and a quil and started it with: "Dear Snape,...."

Severus sighs as he wakes up. Hes partly surprised that Euphemia was still here after his stupid hormones got the better of him and he had broken down in front of her. The other part of him was happy that someone cared alittle about him rather then just the twins.
For the past few months on bed-rest severus had been sad and restless. He wasnt used to be waited on by elves or checked on by euphemia herself. She insisted on speaking with him ounce a day but it was only about the babies which hurt him, but no-one had ever really cared about him before so why would his rivls mum be any diffrent. Severus knew Mrs. Potter had more claim over the twins then him so he hadnt tried to get to know the couple. Why should he when they will no-doubt kick him out the moment they get their precious heir?
He had tried to live like he ussualy would; head down, stay quiet, dont draw attention; but that was hard to do when the couple and their elves were giddy with excitment for babies.
Lily had, of course, helped him get out of the shy cacoon he had been trapped in by his neglectful parents. Then Lucius had helped him by backing him when he faught back against the so-called marauders humiliating "pranks", however he left by Severus' 3rd year and lily... she insisted that the inner House politics were complicated and severus found that hard to beleive sense he was in slytherin, the House with the most pure-bloods and most thought they were superior to everyone else.
While severus secretly loved that he had his rivals household at his bek-and-call it clashed heavily with a quote tobias constantly said, espeacialy when swverus got his hogwarts letter,: "Magic makes you people lazy and lazy people do not deserve nice things."
While listening to Mrs. Potter again gush about her grandchildren he had snapped when she, as ussual, asked how he was doing. Ussualy he would give a vauge "fine" or "im alright, just...", after all while the potter family pampered him he knew it was just because of the twins, so she was only concerned for the twins sake. However this time he had to blink back tears, damn hormones and weak Oculency sheilds, and ended up sobbing while patheticly clinging to her. Then he had eneded up falling alseep.
Now he turned his head away, certian she would just stand up after making sure he was awake. Tp his shock however she stays and speaks, "Pregnancy is always hard for any woman and i cant imagine what your going through, so if you want to talk about it you can. Ill listen."
Severus blinks back more tears, her soft obvious concern broke through his pride. He hasnt been spoken to wirh such pateience and concern for a /long/ time. The teen just points to his head, certian the family had a pensive. When he feels the tip of the wand on his head he cant help but flinch before he starts rememebering his terrible childhood, that should be a good place to start. Thankfuly the woman doesnt stay long afterward and the boy is able to again cry in peace.
