“Papa, look at what I made!” Aurora cried out as she ran into her father's arms from the yard, holding a piece of folded parchment and shoving it with her chubby fingers into his palm. Her bright expression told him she was very proud of her work.
Draco sat up from his armchair and adjusted his reading glasses, cocking his head slightly. He chose his words very carefully, “Uh … darling, it’s beautiful. Mmm … What is it?”
His daughter furrowed her brow in a way that was much too like his wife’s. “It’s you! A dwagoon after the war.”
“O—oh! Well it’s a very nice first try.” He pretended to examine the creased origami in his hands.
Draco then gave her a saccharine smile that his precocious daughter saw through right away. Her silver eyes flashed at her father.
With riotous curls curtaining her round face, Aurora shook her head. “No, papa. S'posed to be floppy. Like you.” And she pinched him in the belly, giggling and running away.
His eyes widened in horror. “Granger!” A loud yell was heard bouncing off the walls of their townhouse.
Epilogue:
Aurora peeked in the living room and saw her father with his head laid down in her mother’s lap. Hermione soothed him by carding through his white-blond hair and lightly scratching his scalp. Her free hand intertwined with Draco’s, and he pressed a light kiss into her palm. Her mother’s low voice was saying words she suspected she shouldn’t hear. Aurora giggled and skipped away.
She cackled wickedly and went to find her brother. ”Leo! Guess what I have for you! It’s a gift. A Hertz doughnut!”
