Chapter 19
Truly she makes the best tea. Lilia though while drinking his cup of tea.
The person that made the tea was Roxana who was sitting on the opposite side of him, the garden of Slytherin is also one of many places where it’s perfect to drink tea, the place was beautiful in its own way with those black roses.
Malleus would love it here. Lilia smiled. The scenery of this place changed overnight I wonder how powerful she really is. He though as he observed the woman in front of him who was continuing the conversation they started early in the morning. She reminds me of Malleus, just put horns and green eyes.
“—and Grim has to be forced into studying most of the time” Roxana sighed. “At some point I am starting to wonder if he will even pass the exams in the next month, if this continue like this that kitten will fail”
Lilia laughed. “Oh well, youngsters are stubborn when it comes to studying, they leave it till the end then panic and regret for not studying, and the funny thing is that they repeat the same mistake everytime there’s an exam ‘I have a lot of time left’ is their excuse, and they leave it till the last day when it’s too late”
Roxana laughed. “Isn’t that the truth ? I remember when I was younger, I had to tutor the whole class of first years because they had to pass their exams in two days, but my notes saved them and they all passed with an Outstanding, now that I think about it, maybe I should make notes to Grim and teach him in a way that he could understand…he is quite fond of food”
“This reminds me of Silver when he was young, oh the stubbornness ! But he was so cute I couldn’t say no to him most of the time, I always prepared him soup when he didn’t want to study…although he always refused the soup and run to continue his homework whenever I tried to prepare it for him” Lilia said the last bit to himself.
Well…Lilia you don’t know how to cook, but I am not telling you that I threw the monstrosity you called food that you brough here, that was supposed to be lasagna. Roxana kept smiling politely.
“I also saw how you got closer to Riddle” Lilia frowned. “The poor boy, my heart pained me when I heard what happened to his mother, but to be honest he need a positive feminine presence in his life, I was quite shocked to hear the truth, I can never imagine someone do that to their children”
“You can say that I was shocked too, but there’s cruel people out there who would gladly sold their children for power and money or abuse them just because they want to” Roxana took a deep breath. “Let’s change the subject, is your son the only human in Diasomnia or are there others ?”
“Most of the students in Diasomnia are fae but there are many humans there too” Lilia said, he then gave her a smirk. “You like children ?”
“You could say…they are kind of my weakness” Roxana said with a small blush on her cheeks.
“You’ll be a great mother I saw how you coddle Riddle” Lilia smiled.
Why does he always returns to that ? Roxana gave him a blank look.
“Do you have experience with children ?”
“Well…I did take care of my friend’s children, and grand-children and so on” Roxana said while looking blankly at her tea.
Lilia was a fae, he lived for a long time, so Roxana guessed that if anyone would understand her the best it will be him.
As I though. Lilia looked at her eyes. She’s not human.
“Classes will start soon it’s best if I wake up Grim before it’s too late” Roxana said while standing up.
“It was nice talking to you ! Let’s do this again another time !” Lilia said before he teleported away.
Roxana herself apparated into her room where Grim was sleeping.
“Grim it’s time to wake up” Roxana said.
Grim yawned. “All right, lemme just fix my bedhead. Then it's off to class! I've got magic to master!”
*After Classes*
*Cafeteria*
“Ugh. Professor Trein must have cast a sleeping' spell on me. I fought to stay awake, but he was sooo boring!” Grim pouted.
Deuce snorted. “Yeah, "fought," sure. I heard you snoring five minutes in.”
“Honestly, even I have to admit that he is worse than my previous history professor” Roxana sighed.
“Grub time! What's it gonna be today?” Ace said before he paused at the long line. “Huh, wait? What's going on? Why's it so crowded in here?”
A ghost appeared besides him. “That famous bakery from out of town is serving up their goods. It only happens once a month! Their stock sells out fast, so you'd better hurry!”
“Gimme three of those chocolate croissants!”
“Woo-hoo, I actually snagged an egg sandwich this month! These things are AMAZING!”
“Egg sandwiches are now sold out! Only one deluxe ham and cheese left!” The Ghost said.
“Oh, man, everything looks amazing. I'm gonna see if I can grab something” Ace looked left and right so see what there was to grab.
Deuce looked at the food in awe. “Wow, they really do seem popular! Roxana, Grim, what do you-Huh?
“Grim cut through the line” Roxana said while she decided to Accio some of the food for herself, along with the three Grilled Cheese that was left.
“The Grilled Cheese is floating away !” An Upper-classman pointed at it.
“Catch it !”
It was too late Roxana already gave it to Ace, Deuce, and Grim (whom she Accio-ed back).
“Nya ! You’re the best !”
“Saved us the trouble honestly” Ace said as they started to walk to one of the tables.
A hyena beastman came running in only to look disappointed when he didn’t find what he wanted.
“Rats. Looks like I'm late for the monthly bakery battle royale. And now they're sold out of the grilled cheese Leona sent me to buy for him.” He groaned.
“Myahahaha! I'm gonna savor the flavor of this victory!” Grim grinned.
The hyena run up to Grim. “Pardon me, friend. I see you were able to get your hands on the highly-prized deluxe cheese sandwich. Incredible!”
Grim frowned at him. “Hm? Who're you and what da ya want with my meat?”
The hyena smirked. “Oh, I'm just a guy who really, really wanted to buy that sandwich you've got there, but arrived a smidge too late. Speaking of which, here's a proposition for you... Might you be willing to trade your deluxe grilled cheese for this very exciting hot dog bun?”
Grim looked at him like he was crazy. “Whaaaaat?! You must be outta your mind, dude!
“Oh, come now. Let's not be like that. Here, have the hot dog bun. I insist.”
Roxana narrowed her eyes when the hyena’s hand and Grim’s paw started to move at the same time in the same way. Imperius ? No…it’s something more.
“Myah? What in the name of tuna...?! My paws are moving' on their own!”
Roxana grabbed the Grilled Cheese from Grim’s paw before he can do the unwanted exchange.
“I am sorry, but this is my Grilled Cheese, and do excuse me but I do not want to make this exchange, so how about you walk away before I decide to curse, and trust me, it will be painful” Roxana glared at him.
Ruggie’s ears flattened on his head, the woman was intimidating, especially because she has this dominating aura and because she was 9 cm taller than him and looking down at him.
(Roxana Bio, Hight : 180 cm)
Ruggie fled from there, he saw what she can do with a slap, and he doesn’t want to end up in the infirmary.
“Oh great, what am I going to say to Leona now ?”
Roxana scoffed when the hyena run away and gave Grim his Grilled Cheese back.
“Here, eat”
Grim looked up to her. “I love you…you saved my food”
Roxana just smiled and shook her head.
“Ace Trappola, Deuce Spade, Grim, and Roxana Lestrange report to the headmaster’s office” Crowley’s voice came out of the speaker.
“We didn’t do anything !” Ace said when Roxana gave them a look.
*Headmaster’s Office*
“Headmage, may we come in?” Deuce said after knocking.
The door opened and they entered.
“How's it going, sir?” Ace asked.
Crowley raised his head from the paperwork and looked at them. “Ah. Thank you all for coming. I'll get right to the point. Now that the Heartslabyul incident is behind us...I wanted to give you a proper debriefing on the matter. If you're to become mages, you need to fully understand the malady that befell Mr. Rosehearts.”
“You called it "overblot," right?” Deuce said.
Crowley nodded. “Yes, that is correct.”
“My brother told me a little about that. He said that could happen to anyone who builds up too much blot. Sounds like Cater was pretty much on the nose with "berserker mode."” Ace said.
“Yeah, but what is "blot," anyway?” Grim asked.
Crowley proceeded to explain, he even invited some ghost to fight with the trio, Roxana stayed in a corner and didn’t fight, she isn’t from this world and her magic isn't the same so it's useless to use it as a demonstration.
[Explanation about the difference between TWST Magic and HP Magic]
(presented to you by a Chibi teacher and a black board)
TWST Magic have overblot.
HP Magic does not, they have obscurial, but those cases are rare and it’s the result of suppressing magic for a long time, usual found in young witches and wizards who aren’t past the age of eleven.
TWST Magic have magical reserve that can exhaust and run out of magic.
HP Magic does not have a reserve they are like the veins in the body you don’t run out of those and it’s the same things with the HP Magic they don’t run out of their magic their problem is their Stamina.
TWST Magic doesn’t have spells for everything, but they do have spells for important things.
HP Magic has a curse that can kill you with two words, and a spell that turns your buggies into bats, let’s not mention the list of other ridiculous spells they have that shouldn’t exist, but they do because wizards have to create spells for everything ! Even things you can do with your hands. (There’s a spell to flush the toilet let’s not speak about it)
TWST Magic have Unique Magic.
HP Magic does not, everyone can learn the same things but how to use them or if you’re mentally powerful enough to use that spell varies from mind to mind, rarely does someone becomes a master of every spell/ritual, Light or Dark magic alike, the well knows masters are :
Dumbledore (in the Light and some Dark art), Grindelwald (Dark Arts), Voldemort (Dark Arts), Roxana (In Light and Dark Arts because she had a lot of time in her hands).
Roxana has a lot of stamina, and her Magic will never run out, add to it the arsenal of curses she knows she’s a very dangerous opponent to face.
So in other words, the people Twisted Wonderland unfortunately don’t stand a chance against her, for the exception of maybe the 5 strongest of Twisted Wonderland, who may or may not have a chance to at least survive.
[That’s it for the lessons today !]
“Hey, Headmage, what's the deal? What does fighting' ghosts got to do with blot?” Grim screamed at Crowley.
Crowley crossed his arms. “Direct your attention to the magestone on your collar, Mr. Grim.”
Grim looked at his gem. “Myah?! My magestone looks all grungy now. ...MYAH?! It won't rub off!” He said after trying to wipe off the black spot in it.
“Precisely.” Crowley said. “That inky black stain is the byproduct of spellcasting known as "blot."”
Roxana looked at the gem with interest. “Interesting”
Deuce looked at his pen. “There's some grime on my magical pen, too!”
Grim shivered in disgust. “Ewww! This is capital-G Gross!”
“And this goes away right ? Riddle’s gem didn’t seem to have this ink after the overblot ended” Roxana said.
“It will go away eventually” Crowley said.
“Phew ! Had me worried here” Grim sighed.
Crowley continued with his explication a bit more before clapped his hands together.
“Thus concludes your special lesson from the headmage himself! How wonderfully kind of me. Now, back to your classrooms with you.” Crowley said with a proud smirk, raising his nose to the air in arrogance.
“Your nose will get as long as Pinocchio's if you keep with that arrogant attitude” Roxana said with a closed eyes smile.
That was a black arrow shot directly to Crowley’s heart.
The crow man trembled from the harsh words. “H-Harsh” He stood up normally. “Anyways ! The October interdorm Spelldrive tournament is close, so I suggest that if any of you” He said that while looking at Ace and Deuce. “That is participating to go and train hard for it”
“What’s that ?” Grim asked.
“You don’t know what Spelldrive is ?” Ace asked in surprise. “What about you Roxana ? You know what it is right ?”
“Yes I do, I watched some videos about it in the school website” Roxana said. “Reminds me of Quidditch but add magic to it and take away some things”
“I ain't never heard of this either!”
“Spelldrive is a sport played by competing teams of seven people. Basically, players battle for control of a disc and earn points by driving' it into the enemy team's goal. The team with the most points wins!” Ace explained. “What Quidditch ?”
“Quidditch is easy enough to understand, even if it's not too easy to play. There are seven players on each side like in Spelldrive.”
Roxana summoned a black board out of nowhere and the chalk started to draw the players positions.
From where did that came from ? Everyone though.
“Three of them are called Chasers.” Roxana pointed at the drawing where the chasers are, because yes like Football there’s a position for every player.
Roxana created an illusion to show them the different balls used in Quidditch and the Players that were throwing the Quaffle around.
“This ball's called the Quaffle. The Chasers throw the Quaffle to each other and try and get it through one of the hoops to score a goal.” Roxana created an illusion of the goals. “Ten points every time the Quaffle goes through one of the hoops.”
The other listened in interest, a player on a broom appeared in front of the hoops while another one appeared behind him on the other side of the hoops.
“Now there's another player on each side, who's called the Keeper, the Keeper have to fly around the hoops and stop the other team from scoring.”
Another illusion was created to show the Bludgers.
“The Bludgers rocket around, trying to knock players off their brooms. That's why there is two beaters on each team” The illusion of the beaters hit the Bludgers away with a bat. “It's their job to protect their side from the Bludgers and try and knock them toward the other team.”
A small golden ball appeared, and another player did too.
“Now, the last member of the team is the Seeker, the golden ball is called the Golden Snitch, and it's the most important ball of the lot. It's very hard to catch because it's so fast and difficult to see.”
The illusion flew around in a huge speed.
“Woah, it’s so small how are you going to catch it ?” Ace asked.
“Roxana has one in her room, she let me play with it, hard to catch and spot I’ll tell you that” Grim growled remembering everytime he hit his head around the Dorm trying to catch that monstrosity of a ball.
“It's the Seeker's job to catch it. You've got to weave in and out of the Chasers, Beaters, Bludgers, and Quaffle to get it before the other team's Seeker, because whichever Seeker catches the Snitch wins his team an extra hundred and fifty points, catching the Snitch also means the end of the match, most of the time the team that catch it nearly always win unless the other team has more points than them, I was the previous Seeker of my team before I quit Quidditch to focus on my goals"
“Woah” Deuce looked amazed, the board and the illusions disappeared. “You should make a Quidditch Club then ! Imagine it ! The first game created at a school similar to Spelldrive but completely different”
“As long as we can still use magic in this game am in” Ace said. “It will become popular fast especially because of how difficult playing it looks”
Crowley’s eyes widened at the ‘popular’ thing. “This is a brilliant idea ! Miss Roxana if you are thinking about opening this club I completely support it ! Oh ! I can imagine the fame Night Raven College will grain from this”
“Well…I did miss playing Quidditch” Roxana said to herself. “Alright, I see your plan Crowley, and just this once I support your idea”
“Good !” Crowley showed her a paper. “Sign this ! This game may one day be broadcasted in TV like Spelldrive !”
“Spelldrive is broadcast throughout the world?!” Grim said eyes wide. “So you're saying that if I were to play in this tournament—and win of course—the whole world would see it?!”
Crowley nodded. “Of course! Players who excel at the tournament invariably attract great attention. Both from the pro leagues and the public at large!”
Deuce looked at Grim. “In your case, the magic would barely even matter. Just having a monster like you out there is sure to turn heads.”
Grim grinned. “It's settled, then! I'm gonna train around the clock, join a team, and become a legend!”
Crowley looked at him. “Alas, Grim, you cannot enter.”
“...Wait, what?” Ah the happiness got replaced with disappointment.
“Did you not hear me speak the word "interdorm" multiple times? Your dorm doesn't even have seven members. Therefore, you cannot enter the tournament.”
“Whaaaaat?! No faaaaair!” Grim cried.
Crowley crossed his arms. “But there's plenty else to do, from tending to the grounds to selling drinks in the stands! Those who stand upon the field are not the only stars of tournament day.”
“Not. Interested!” Grim refused. “I wanna be on TV! I want everyone in the world fawning over me! "Squeee! Grim is sooooo cool!" "Did you see that play Grim made?" You get what I'm saying'?”
Ace deadpanned. “Your delusions are oddly specific, dude.”
“Well, if you can't field a team, I'm afraid that's that.” Deuce said. “Maybe next year, Slytherin Dorm will get some new members. But it's not happening this year.”
Crowley nodded. “Anyway, as I believe I've mentioned, I'm a busy man. I must be off.”
Grim pouted. “Yeah, thanks for takin' me outta your busy day to build up my dreams and crush 'em! Myaaah! *sob*”
Roxana chuckled at that.
