'Harry' finds out about Hogwarts

Wednesday, July 24th, 1991

Harry sighed walking to the door. He had to collect mail. Bill, letter from Aunt Marge, and....

At the bottom of the stack was a letter addressed to Ms. Bianca R. Potter....Bianca Rose Potter, that was the name Harry had chosen if he had been born a girl. Did...did this mean he was a girl like he thought? But, how would they know his-her-name? And why did he have a letter at all?

Harry slid the letter into his cupboard on his way back to the kitchen. He would check it out later, but he definitely couldn't let his aunt and uncle see it. They would steal it before he could say 'letter'.

The cupboard light was dim, but Harry could see enough to read the note. He only had around twenty minutes until he had to wash the dinner dishes, so he needed to be quick.

Harry pulled the two pieces of thick paper from the envelope. He began to read the first, almost crying at the words.

Dear Bianca Potter,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Term begins 1st September. We await your owl no later than the 31st July.

Yours Sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall(Deputy Headmistress)

There were more words at the bottom, but Harry didn't bother to read them. It was obviously a prank from Dudley and his gang. Harry didn't know how they had figured out his 'girl name', but he knew he would never hear the end of it.

He couldn't believe he had really believed that someone would write to him. How embarrassing.

And he was so excited about getting to be Bianca as well.
