Chapter 4
Auror Parkinson was working late when his partner, Auror Abbot, came rushing into the office with an excited look on his face.
"Potter used magic in a Muggle-inhabited area!" Abbot exclaimed, shoving a memo in Gregor's face. "We've got him!"
Gregor stared at him. "We've got... a fourteen-year-old boy."
Abbot scowled at him. "Read it!"
Rolling his eyes, Gregor scanned the memo. "It says he used the Patronus Charm. Wait, the kid can cast a Patronus? Merlin, most of the Aurors can't cast one."
"It doesn't matter!"
"Abbot, he cast a self-defense spell," Gregor said firmly. "We're required to investigate, especially if it's a minor. I don't care if the Minister hates the kid -- a kid, Abbot -- we follow protocol."
His partner huffed.
"How would you feel if an Auror snapped your niece's wand without investigating?" Gregor pointed out. Abbot looked furious. "Exactly. Let's go."
The two of them left the Ministry and Apparated to Little Whinging. They were alerted to danger when they felt the cold and heard the screams.
"Who the f*** sent Dementors after a kid?!"
