Drarry - Hair
Draco’s and Harry’s hair care routines could not be more different, which is why having separate bathrooms in Grimmauld Place was critical to keeping their relationship intact.
Harry’s hair fell to her waist in a tumble of black riotous curls and waves, often frizzy when Harry didn’t take the time to tend to it (and Harry rarely took the time). Cutting it or trying to layer it ended in disaster; Harry’s magic grew it back to its natural state overnight every time. Getting a wet hairbrush through it required actual work that Harry rarely did, choosing instead to scrunch and go (or sometimes pull it back into a thick ponytail).
Draco’s hair, on the other hand, was a sleek silver blond (nearly white) curtain that came down to cover her breasts, barely glancing to touch over her pale pink nipples. It required almost no brushing or effort to fall straight and sleek, and yet Draco brushed and brushed and combed multiple times a day every day. She washed and conditioned daily, another effort that was not strictly necessary.
Harry and Draco both tended to roll their eyes at the other’s hygiene habits, even living together and being in love. But they couldn’t deny the results; both of them looked good and their hair felt soft and appealing to the touch.
And on rare evenings, Harry and Draco would braid each other’s hair. Harry did Draco a loose, light braid and tied it at the end with a crushed velvet emerald scrunchie. Draco, on the other hand, crafted an elaborate fishtail braid for Harry and tied it off with a scrap of maroon silk.
Every night when they went to sleep, their hair tumbled together, black on blond. It shone in the light from their magical candles as they rested.
