Chapter 20
Hermione pov
Pacing the room I sigh waiting for news about what they find out, hearing someone else moving around I follow the sound to the library seeing Narcissa moving her book around by hand.
"Why are you doing that?" I ask.
"I can't relax when Bella is out on a mission I know you're still unsure about us and even more her, but I don't know what I would do without her" she says softly while putting another book in a new area.
Nodding I sigh "are you making a new system?" I ask.
"No just switching what side they're on"
Nodding I move to help her.
Maleficent's pov
Frowning I rub my thumb on my staff looking at the woman "you killed my daughter?" I ask growling slightly.
I watch as the woman gets paler and takes a step back, lifting my staff I bang it on the ground freezing her in place "you do know what happens when you anger a dragon yes?" I ask calmly even though she can't move or speak.
Chuckling I pull out a small bottle of my sleeping Potion "Bella, do you know how to do that spell they used on her?" I ask holding the Potion up so the street light shines through it.
"Yes I do and she's married"
Nodding I open the bottle pulling the cork with a needle in it out "tell me dear is he you're true love?" I ask smirking "let's find out if he can wake you, then you can tell him and all of your group that I know what you did and I'm coming for them and your friend here is now our prisoner".
"Imperio" Bella says cackling "look at the pretty little needle, touch it and all this fighting ends, you'll have won the war" she whispers.
Seeing her hand reaching out she pricks her finger, I smile watching her drop to the ground waving my hand I place her against the wall hidden.
"I'd recommend not letting McGonagall free from the curse till we're safely home and can keep her under control" Bella says.
Nodding I grab her arm leaving in a cloud of smoke with the others.
Hermione pov
Hearing Ma calling for me I turn rushing out with Narcissa following me, stepping into the living room I freeze seeing McGonagall.
Narcissa comes in and quickly pulls her wand pushing me behind her "Why did you bring her here after she tried to kill Hermione?" she demands.
"Cissy calm down look at her eyes" Bella says in a soothing voice.
Peeking around I frown seeing her eyes are glazed over "the Imperio curse" I say softly stepping out.
"Why is she under that and who's in control of her?"
"We think Molly is but since she's taking a nice nap that your mother gifted her she's not being controlled, she plans to lift it once we have her contained to find out if she was willingly involved with trying to kill you or not, but she currently can't hear or see anything at the moment" Bella says in a calm voice to me.
Nodding I look at Ma seeing her frowning at McGonagall "what is it?" I ask worried.
"Im conflicted, she's my mate but she may have tried to kill you I won't be able to accept her if she did, but I won't be able to punish her or allow anyone else to harm her" she says softly.
"Shit mom" Lily says looking pained "let Emma handle questioning her she's got that whole lie detector thing going on in her and she's not biased on her" she adds.
Ma nods handing her over "don't hurt her if she was Emma, we will have to figure out something else" Ma warns.
Emma pov
Nodding I look at Bella "where can we keep her while we do this?" I ask.
"We have prison cells in the basement"
Following her I grab Ingrid dragging her along, reaching the basement I put her in the cell letting Bella lock it "check her memories for any altered memories" I say softly.
I watch as she carefully pulls them out working on what needs undoing once done I nod looking at Bella, who lifts the curse before slipping back into the shadows hidden.
"Hello Minerva" I say while leaning on the cell across from her.
"Who are you?" She hisses.
"Someone who has a few questions to ask you about Hermione Granger"
She nods slumping down, tilting my head to look at her eyes seeing tears in them "what do you want to know?"
"How do you know her?" I ask starting with something I already know about to get an idea of when she's telling the truth.
"Hogwarts" she whispers not looking up.
Snarling I rush forward grabbing her robes "you will look at me when you answer" I order making her look at me "now again how do you know her?"
"I was her teacher at Hogwarts"
"When did you meet her?"
"The summer before she started I explained what she was and took her to buy her supplies"
"How was your relationship with her?"
She lifts her hands covering her face crying, I give her a moment before asking again "she was my favorite student I spent a lot of time with her teaching her privately and came to love her like a daughter" she says while crying.
"Where is she?" I ask frowning.
"Dead, they killed her" she says in a voice that sounds like she's close to shutting down emotionally.
"Did you help kill her?" I growl.
"Yes, I didn't want to, I had to do it they made me" she says crying hysterically.
"Maleficent, Emma Swan-Mills, and Lily Paige-West" I say turning away from her hearing her sobbing becoming more hysterical.
Hermione pov
Seeing Emma come up the stairs with Ingrid and Bella I nervously glance at her "what did she say?" I ask.
"She was being controlled when she tried to kill you and it was true"
Nodding I look down unsure of what to do "she says she sees you as a daughter, and believes you're dead she was crying when I left".
Taking a deep breath I move to the stairs taking her wand with me, carefully walking down I hear her crying and apologizing to me.
Staying near the shadows I watch her for a moment "Professor McGonagall?" I say softly.
She cries more shaking her head, taking a few step forward I slowly reach her cell putting my hand through the bars touching her "professor?" I say again.
She looks up at me and suddenly jumps up grabbing the bars "Hermione?" she asks with a shaking voice.
"My ma says your her mate" I say shrugging "I guess that means you're my step mom".
She reaches out touching my face "you're alive?"
"Yeah, I didn't listen and left, I seen you all burn my house I went into hiding till Bellatrix came and found me"
