Padma Patil could remember when she first started drawing outfits for her sister. They were lucky with their wixen parents bringing Padma's designs for Parvati into existence. Padma would wear them too, but Parvati added the flair that had other children asking about where the clothing came from. She was also apparently more approachable than Padma, which was just fine in Padma's mind. Adding muggle flairs to wixen robes and things from the wixen world to muggle clothing for her and her sister kept her occupied and happy. Her maternal grandfather tried to help her by taking both girls to various muggle fashion locations and even took them to fashion shows where Parvati had declared that she would become an exclusive model for Padma's designs. Other models would have to be okay with taking direction from her, even if they had more experience because Parvati would know better than they about how best to showcase Padma's designs. Their grandfather managed to introduce both girls to people within the fashion industry which really just cemented both of them in their determination to become elites within it.
After going to Hogwarts, they still tried to keep up-to-date on the fashion world, but as they had finally been forcibly separated, they had to reconnect with each other. After the first year, Parvati had a friend in Lavender, but Padma wasn't really close with her fellow Claws. They studied together, sure, but they weren't necessarily aware of what hobbies they enjoyed or which subjects were preferred. Further research into possible specialization had Padma going to their parents at the lack of courses that would help her and Parvati with their goals. Luckily for both girls, their parents were able to enroll them in summer courses that would aid them for their future goals. When Sirius Black had escaped in the summer before their third year, Padma had a new muse that meant she was no longer gearing her designs for only herself and her sister and then Lavender after their first year. She started to design for a younger housemate - Luna Lovegood.
The girl was quirky, and wholly wixen, but unique and it set her mind to creating different outfits. When the Yule Ball had been announced, Padma had contemplated asking Luna to attend with her despite how their housemates treated the unique girl, but after speaking with Parvati and running out of time to create an outfit suitable to the younger girl, she decided against it. Agreeing to go with Ron and seeing the horrible set of robes he was wearing, Padma added another layer to her wixen designs, focused solely on the male "black-tie" robes. She also remembered all the jumpers the Weasley matriarch had made for the Weasley children and Harry over the years. She also knew of the winter season jumpers based on Christmas that would only be worn to events based around the holiday promoted by said sweaters.
She managed to create one for Lavender, her, her sister, and Luna during Umbridge's rign of terror in the school. While Parvati and Lavender were obviously not as enamored with the sweater as Padma had been over the idea of the the sweater, Luna had been overjoyed since Padma had included a few of the deterrents to Luna's "imaginary" creatures such as Nargles and Flibbertuggarts. When Padma started her sixth year, she was focused on creating designs that were more able to withstand what she assumed was coming in the next year to five years of battle. Sure, it wasn't as long as she expected, but creating clothes that were better for battle scenarios added a whole line of robes for the athletically active wixen.
When they managed to get through everything and Padma and Parvati were able to catch up with the fashion industries around the world and what the trends were. Seeing the trends and noting certain fads that were being on an almost recurring yearly rise, she remembered her classes on economics and realized that people like Luna, Neville, and perhaps even the Weasleys would likely enjoy more jumpers like the one she made for Luna, herself, her sister, and Lavender.
When her sister and Lavender got married their sweaters created by her were prominently worn at the reception. When she and Luna started going out, Padma yearly gave her a new sweater so when they got married, Luna had a large selection of sweaters to choose from, but like Parvati's wedding, they wore the first sweaters Padma had created for them. By 2015, Parvati was regularly being asked to model for other brands and they had plenty of models, even a few supermodels applying to walk for shows that highlighted the Alternate Apparrel fashion lines. A few even specifically requested the AA Magical Ugly line which held fairy-covered snowflakes on blue jumpers, bell-laden green jumper with a sleigh highlighted being drawn by pegasi, and one of the most popular jumpers - the tree against a red background with a light-up kneazle (though muggles saw it as a cat) with fairies throughout the tree and a griffon at the top of the tree to name just a few of the jumpers from that particular line.
At the 2020 Christmas events, literally every wixen was wearing an AA Magical Ugly jumper. Many muggles attempted to find unique versions of the sweaters that had managed to become a holiday staple despite only one dedicated new line in stores though others had started to add to their fashion lines an ugly Christmas sweater line. Despite others adding their own ugly sweaters to the market the AA Magical Ugly line had become an almost coveted item, especially if you got one of the especially unique jumpers that would be sold by auction for various charities who received all the proceeds from the said auction. Needless to say, Padma managed to get ahead of the holiday trend and her fashion empire managed to become a mogul in its own right due to it, but Padma only wanted to create clothes for those who maybe were having a hard time finding what they wanted that they could afford in both worlds and create better versions of elements of things she'd loved in other outfits and articles of clothing.
