Sunset Kisses

Amanda woke up to her alarm, rolling over to grab her phone from the bedside table. She had a bad habit of immediately waking up and then checking People.com, she knew she didn’t need to rot her brain this early in the morning, but it is an entertaining way to start her day. There were a few notifications from her social media apps, some emails she’ll have to respond to on company time, and one text message from Angela.

Oh right. Angela. Amanda slowly moved her thumb over to the message app, her heart pounding at the memory of what the two of them shared between each other last night. She had to tell herself that there really isn’t any reason to be nervous, it was just two friends sending a picture of their new bathing suits. Except, one of the friends is madly in love with the other. She gathered up the courage to open up the messages between her and Angela, anxious to see what Angela had to say.

“Beautiful as always Amanda ;)”

Amanda wrote and rewrote multiple responses, but settled on a simple “thank you hon!”

She was very excited to see everyone at work today, they were going to go over plane arrangements and the air bnb, as well as what they were going to do on vacation. The weather was starting to get warm very fast, so she settled on a loose fitting dress, and short heels. Her hair was down and wavy, and her makeup was simple. She decided she would run and grab a coffee for breakfast, she did not feel like making anything this morning.

She walked out of the house and got in her car, turning on one of her favorite true crime podcasts. She swung through the drive through of her favorite coffee place, and made her way to work. Amanda loved to show up a few minutes early, she made sure to make time to stop and chat with her friends before the morning meeting, because once the meeting was over it was hard to catch everyone before they were all caught up in filming.

She walked into the office and started giving out “Good Morning’s and Hello’s.” As well as hugging anyone who is in her line of sight. She knows that people joke about how touchy she is, but she never knew if someone needed the hug more than she did.

As the time got closer to eight a.m. the cast and crew started to head into the big conference room, waiting for everyone else to arrive so they could get their assigned parts of the day. She sat herself in between Arasha and Chanse, eager to ask them all about their days. Amanda could pull out any information she wanted out of anyone, so if you sat next to her, or she sat next to you, prepare to let her know about every little detail of your past week.

“Hey babes! How are you two!” Amanda squeezed Chanse and Arasha into a side hug, holding them for a little longer than what was necessary.

“Good Amanda, how about you?” Arasha slid herself out of Amanda’s grasp, but smiled at her to know that she wasn’t uncomfortable.

“I am doing great. Chansey what about you hon?”

“I was doing fine until I was viciously attacked by a giant six feet tall lady who forced me to touch her.” Chanse pretended to be mad at Amanda, but they both knew he was just kidding.

A few more people walked into the room, and as the last person shut the door they all turned their attention to the production manager. They went through a couple of milestones, a reddit story with Shayne, Damien and Angela hit 2 million views, and a Board AF video hit a million in less than a week. Once the milestones were over they each got their roles for the day. Amanda was going to be a guest on reddit stories, film two Smosh Mouth episodes, and then a TNTL later. None of which will be super stressful, but it will for sure make for a long day.

Usually Amanda did not mind filming back to back videos, but all she wanted to do was talk to Angela, and with a stacked schedule she may not get the chance.

She made her way to the Reddit Stories couch, her other guest was Trevor. Usually the two of them aren’t paired together quite often, so she was eager to do the stories with him and Shayne. The stories were about vacations, which is going to be the last “hint” they drop before announcing the Smosh Vacation. Next Monday on Smosh Mouth is when Shayne and Amanda are going to drop the news of a cast vacation, and that they are filming it “Vlog Squad” style. It will be a good reminiscing of “Old Smosh.”

They get through each story, but they are running about half an hour behind schedule, but this isn’t unusual, when Amanda and Shayne get together it is hard to get them to not talk forever. This always reminds them why Smosh Mouth is on a set timer.

After Reddit stories Amanda made her way over to the games set. They were filming, so she thought she could watch what was going on, and since she would need to be on the set later for the podcast she didn’t think it would hurt.

Angela, Courntey, Arasha, Spencer, and Damien were playing a new board game that Alex suggested. Amanda walked behind the cameras and found a chair to sit on, casually watching the game and enjoying the entertainment.

Arasha was the first person to notice her presence and she gave a small little nod towards her, Courtney’s eyes tracked and she smiled seeing Amanda watching them. Angela, Damien and Spencer were currently fighting over the rules of the game, and of course Angela gets blamed for not wearing her glasses.

“I don’t need my glasses to know that what you did was cheating!” Angela’s body was splayed out on the table, reaching over to grab Spencer’s cards.

“Ang, you need to calm down.” Courtney tried to pull her off the table, but she would not budge.

“Women, am I right?” Spencer deadpans and then locks eyes with the center camera, receiving a roar of laughter from the crew.

“Spencer, I swear to GOD!” Angela knocks all of his cards to the floor, before laughing maniacally. “That will teach you not to cheat, ya big loser.”

Damien helps Spencer pick up his cards, and Amanda laughs as she watches them struggle to pick everything up. The sound of Amanda’s laugh caught Angela’s attention as her head whips around to see Amanda sitting behind the camera. She gives a wave towards her, pointing her thumb in a “are you seeing this?” motion.

Once the game was over the team helped flip the table and set around to make the Smosh Mouth set, Amanda and Shayne got mic’d up and ready to go. The first episode they filmed featured Tommy as their guest, they were discussing random pop culture references and things going on in the media right now. After that one was done they had a quick outfit change and started to film the second episode. This one was just Shayne and Amanda, and they were letting the fans know about the Smosh Vacation.

“So everyone, we have been dying to tell you, but we are taking a Smosh Vacation here in a few weeks!”

“Yes that is right! We are taking a vacation to the sunny beaches in Hawaii where we are going to tan, ride bikes into the sunset, and drink the night away.”

“I don’t know about you Amanda but I think this is going to be one of the best things that Smosh has ever done.”

“I think so too Shayne.”

They moved on to stories about their beach experiences, bad sunburns, and summer vacations from when they were in school. It was a very casual episode, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the moment.

After they were done filming it was time to eat lunch, Amanda grabbed herself a couple of snacks and a protein shake, she wasn’t too hungry right now. She sat down with Shayne, Courtney, Arasha, Chanse, Angela, Spencer and Tommy, who were already filling the room with laughter. She sat in between Angela and Shayne, and once she sat down the conversation turned to plan time.

“So, we should be receiving an email soon with all of the information for the trip, as of right now we have an airbnb that should accommodate all of us, there should be some room sharing, but I think we were able to score enough rooms for the singletons to have their own rooms. Right now for the plane we have Arasha, Trevor and Spencer in one row, Tommy, Amanda and Angela in the other, Shayne and Courtney together, and then Chanse and Damien you guys will be next to each other. If you guys want to switch around we can but that’s just how it was given to me as of this moment.” Courtney read off of their email, assigning each person their designated travel buddies.

Everyone agreed to keep the order that they had already, and Amanda was very excited to be sitting next to Angela and Tommy, she needed people that can yap for hours with her on the plane.

After lunch they headed back to the Smosh pit set and ran through a quick TNTL. Amanda was very excited for this one because she was going to do a bit featuring Sarah Christ. Sarah is a fan favorite and it’s been a while since she was in a TNTL video, and as always she was a hit.

Today was a really good day.

As the days flew by it was finally the night before the trip. Amanda was packed and ready to go, setting her alarm for the early morning flight. She had the hardest time falling asleep because she was so excited, but eventually fell into a deep slumber.

She awoke around 4:30 am, changing into more presentable but comfy clothes. Grabbed her suitcases and bags and went towards the airport. She made it just in time to be the first person there, but Arasha and Trevor were not too far behind her, and then Damien not long after them.

Once everyone was there and they made it through the TSA nightmare, they could all relax before the plane boarded. Everyone was tired and grumpy, but Amanda was elated. She could not wait to see what adventure awaits her.
