Diary, they announced the Yule Ball today. I mean there had to be something considering we were required to have dress robes. Luckily Parvati owled me a Padma original which is absolutely gorgeous! I just wish it weren't some unwritten rule to go with a guy. I mean now I have to wait for a guy to ask me, though the Patils and I have an agreement to go together as friends if none of us get dates. I'll likely just agree to go with the first guy who asks.

Diary, I was asked to go to the Yule Ball by Seamus Finnegan. He's not the worst, of course, just not necessarily who I want to with. Padma admitted to liking LUNA LOVEGOOD!!! Maybe if no boys ask her and her sister she can invite the eccentric girl along? At least none of us are going with that Malfoy, yecch! Though if his personality weren't so bad, he might not be so bad.

Diary, heard about R Weasley asking the Beauxbatons champion to go to the Ball. It was kind of funny. Nice to see at least one of the boys be made into a literal gibbering mess. I really hope we can have some fun at the Ball.

Diary, with R Weasley and Potter not having dates Harry asked Padma and Parvati to go to the Ball with them after Ron's disaster of an invite to the Beauxbatons girl. Of course they agreed. Apparently Longbottom's taking Ginny. I don't think Luna is going with anyone, though. Which is a bit of a pity. I think she'd quite enjoy going

Diary, the Ball confirms it - boys are idiots. Seriously, neither Harry nor Ron danced with either Padma or Parvati, and Seamus kept staring longingly at Dean Thomas! I would have loved to be able to dance with Parvati, but apparently she and Padma found a couple of Durmstrang boys to dance with. Sometimes I wonder if Potter and R Weasley are secretly dating, but then how would they even manage to keep it a secret? Everybody knows Potter is single and never dated anyone unless he did date Granger...
Speaking of Granger, she was absolutely gorgeous in this set of periwinkle dress robes, almost like a gown, though she is muggleborn and Padma isn't really friends with her...neither are Parvati and I come to think of it. Back to Granger, though. I guess we all wanted her to look amazing because we helped her with her hair, and did you know she said my hair and make-up abilities could probably get me to be a "stylist to the stars," whatever that means?
We didn't even know who she was going with other thanhe wasn't in our House he was that "obnoxious self-absorbed pompous cretin of a ferreted little toerag" maybe I should expand my vocabulary because she said this with the dungeon bat in hearing range and he didn't do anything about it...of course Professor McG was nearby as well, so that may have had something to do with it.
Anyway, I think those two have crushes on each other! They spent the whole dance before arguing with Granger just sitting there stewing, then they left together! Maybe if Potter is open about being with Ron, I can be with Parvati??? If they aren't openly together next year, and Ron's single, I'll pretend to like and date him. I'll be a most annoying girlfriend and maybe then he and Potter will get together and be boyfriends? Oh, I'd better go. Classes tomorrow and Parvati and Granger are coming to bed
