Chapter 3

Everything was warm, and the sensation traveled through his body. Warm blankets of sunlight were basking him. Miyamoto found the strength to open his eyes, and light blinded him as he regained his senses.

He was in a simple room, his swords beside him. His top was folded neatly next to him. Usagi scratched his head as his memories came back to him.

He was roaming the shore's trails when those strange demons attacked him. Their armor was more durable than most he encountered. Many fell by his blade, but their numbers were too great.

They captured him, for what he does not know. But he saw a moment for escape and so he did. It was only for a matter of hours as they captured him again, the wounds they inflicted were great but he defeated the group.

The sound of feet hit his ears. Each step was light, as the sound of something being dragged along. They didn't sound armed, but they were carrying something.

Then the door to his room opened, and out came a kappa. But unlike those he had seen this turtle was beautiful. No claws, no bowl on their head. Instead, they had smooth skin and ocean-blue eyes. They wore a simple blue yukata with a matching ninja mask. The strangest thing was the long golden fur sprouting from their head disappearing behind the wall. "Oh! You're awake." The turtle spoke, signifying they were a male.

"Where am I?" Miyamoto asks his hand near his weapons.

"You're in my family home. I found you injured and brought you here for healing," the turtle explained, placing a tray of food in front of the rabbit. "I'm Hamato Leonardo. Here, eat up; your healing has taken much of your energy."

"Usagi Miyamoto, thank you for your hospitality Hamato-san."

"It's nothing," Hamato-san brushed off, as he stood. "I need to summon my father before we discuss more." Usagi nodded in acknowledgment.

Leo sighed, as he closed the door. Usagi-san seemed like a normal person, a bit on the serious side, but, overall he was a nice guy. "Hey," Leo turned to see his twin. "Is Samurai Bugs Bunny up?"

"He is, can you do me a favor and round up the guys," Leo asked.

"I still can't believe you brought him home with us!" Raph complained.

"He was injured Raph! And most of them were internal! What were we supposed to do!?"

"Leave him!"

"Rapheal," Splinter got between the twins. "There is nothing more evil than turning your back on the injured. While your concern for our safety is valid, there is a fine line between concern and turning your back away from the injured."

"Hai, sensei," Raph said, understanding his father.

"Now, Leonardo." Gaining the eldest attention. "What did you gain from our visitor?"

"Not much, but his character seems to be honest and fair. And his name is Usagi Miyamoto."

"I see. You boys get ready for your mission. I will speak to our visitor." The twins nodded and went to grab their weapons.

Splinter watched his boys enter their rooms before entering the guest room. The bunny had gotten dressed and eaten some of the meal. "You must be, Hamato-san's father?"

"Hai Usagi-san, I am. My name is Hamato Yoshi, but please call me Splinter." The bunny was studying him, Splinter did not miss the surprise in his eyes when he first saw him. "You thought I would be a turtle, yes?"

"Forgive my assumptions, Hamato-san." Usagi bowed his head in apology to which Splinter waved off.

"It is nothing, Usagi-san. Now how about you tell me your story?"

The turtles were back in the city on a building with the gliders parked nearby. "Explain one more time what we're doing here," Mikey asked, which caused his brothers to groan.

"Mikey, we've been over this," Donnie answered. "That Building has the same logo as the van that was used to kidnap the family."

"So if we wait here long enough, one of the kidnappers will show his face, and when he does, we'll make him tell us what's been going on and where the family is," Leo added.

"And then we got ourselves a van!" At that Leo's face palmed.

"Just hit the guy when I tell you to."

"Will do!"

"Are you sure this is gonna work?" Raph asked.

"Trust me, they'll be here any second." A few minutes have passed before Raph spoke again.

"So what do you think about Bugs Bunny?"

"His name is Usagi. And I think he's a pretty alright guy." Leo answered.

"Well, he attacked you."

"He was in fight or flight mode," Leo defended the samurai. "If you were suddenly taken from your home, and beaten would you not be in a fight mode?"

"I see your point, Lee. But we barely know the guy." Raph brought up a valid point.

"I get your reason, Raph. But dad is a good judge of character. He'll be the judge of Usagi." Then Leo heard something, Seeing the same van pull up to the alley. "Guys, get ready!" The brother jumped from the roof and surrounded the only non-identical man at the kidnapping scene.

"Alright, buddy. We can do this the easy way or—my vote—the hard way." The brothers got out their weapons to show intimidation.

"Yeah, Look at it logically there are four of us and one of you. What are you gonna do?" Donnie taunted, the men snarled as he brought out a blaster. Shooting at them as the brothers dodged.

"You had to ask?!" Raph admonished his younger brother.

"If I may, Usagi-san. I can ask you for your story?" Splinter asked as the two in the dojo shared a cup of tea.

The ronin started down into his cup with a mournful expression. "I was once a proud samurai warrior and Lord Mifune's bodyguard in the battle against Lord Hikiji. Our forces might have been victorious had not a trusted general turned against our lord. It was my duty to protect his flank... I failed. I buried him with honors and I became a ronin, wandering the land." Usagi subconsciously touched the scar across his eyebridge as the memories flooded back to him.

"You have suffered a great pain, for being so young," Splinter said, his eyes filled with understanding. "As you have shared your story, it is only fair I share mine."

"I used to be a part of a much larger clan, the Hamato. Warriors of light, my clan have protected innocents for many centuries. Years ago, I used to have a wife and daughter, but they were killed in a fire caused by one I considered a brother. The flames destroyed all that was left of my clan."

Usagi stared at the rat with an open mind. His story was much like his. The ninja he encountered along his travels caused him much grief, but this small clan has shown him more kindness than some of the samurai he met. From what he could tell, this nezumi and his children were the last of their clan after a great tragedy.

"Hamato-san, I thank you again for your hospitality. But a question has plagued my mind." The ronin said, piquing Splinter's curiosity.

"Ask anything."

"When the strange men attacked me, they dragged me through a mysterious portal. So, I am wondering if I am even in my home relem?"

The boy was sharper than he thought, perhaps his years as a ronin honed his instincts and senses.

"You are sharper than I expected, yes it would seem you are from another realm."

The brothers were chasing after the van on the sewer sliders. Thanks to the bikes hovering they easily caught up with the van, Raph put his motorcycle on auto-pilot and leaped onto the van but the man swerved down a street causing Raph to fly off and crash into a building.

His shell protected him but he still felt it. The rest of the siblings kept following the man, but he retaliated by shooting at them again.

Mikey and Donnie swerved out of the way while Leo still maintained a chase. Taking a ninja star from his belt, he flung the star towards the van, popping the left front tire. The Van skitted out of control through the streets before hitting a lamp post and flipping on its side.

The horn blared as the brothers regrouped, "Now we're getting somewhere." Leo said as the Hamato siblings dismounted their bikes. Going for cover Leo gave hand signs to his brother who understood.

Donnie was nonverbal until he was five, so the family learned Asl from the old books they found in the trash. It was difficult for the brothers to learn as they had three fingers, but they found a workaround.

The group armed themselves with their weapons as they sneaked around the vehicle for the man. As they reached the back, Raph lifted the back doors when a strange canister fell and rolled to a stop before Mikey, who cried, "MOM?!"

"Hamato-san, I have to ask another question," Usagi said. His wounds were great. Before, he felt the pain and sting every time he moved during his battle with the strange creatures. Now, he felt better than he had in years.

"Yes?"

"My wounds, I have had many in my time as a ronin. But none have healed in a matter of hours. So may I ask how?"

Splinter stroked his beard in thought before speaking again. "As I have said, my clan were warriors of light. And if my assumption is correct you know of the sun god Amaterasu Ōmikami, yes?"

"I have heard many stories when I was a boy," Usagi confirmed.

"I see, now. In gratitude for my clan's good deeds Amaterasu Ōmikami has blessed my clan with magic tied to our loyalty to the family and each other" Miyamoto watched in awe as the glowing symbol of the clan appeared before Splinter's chest, enveloping him with a gray light. Figures of Hamato ancestors filled the room.

"This magic connects to all who came before me." Splinter let go of magic, and the Hamato forebears disappeared. "However, with this magic, came a prophecy: Should the last of the Hamatos be on their deathbed, they shall be blessed with a drop of sunlight. My eldest was the one blessed. Using this blessing, he heals those who are injured."

Donnie quickly picked the thing up he was most curious about how he and his family became who they were. "So that's the--"

"Thing that turned us all into what we are now," Donnie answered Leo's question.

"Let's drink some!" Mikey suggested, reaching for the canister. Donnie, the tallest of the siblings after their father, at 6'2 held the container above his head, away from the youngest.

"What?!" Raph demained. "Why would you do that?!"

"'Cause if you mutant a mutant you get a super mutant," Mikey answered.

"This is not your comic books Mikey!" Donnie reprimanded.

"And that's how you become a pile of goo on the sidewalk." Raph sarcastically said.

"Guys, this is huge!" Leo cut in, "Whoever kidnapped the family is somehow connected to what happened to us fifteen years ago."

"How is that possible?"

"For alien robots, anything is possible," Mikey said, he was the most shocked when they found out the men were aliens.

"We get it; aliens are real. You win all those arguments we had when we were younger about aliens," Donnie said. The two youngest used to squabble about fiction and non-fiction. The siblings turned to find the man crawling out the reck. Leo was quick; he bound that man with his hair as his twin grabbed the canister.

"Alright, time to get some answers."

"Who are you, and what's going on?" Leo demanded,

"Name's Snake and I got nothin' to say to you hideous freaks." Snake insulted the turtles.

"Really? That's 'cause you don't know us yet." Raph said as Leo tightened the grip of his hair. The younger ones join their nii-sans.

"See, we were just regular guys." Raph unscrewed the lid of the canister. "Until we got hit with a little of this."

"Wha-what are you doing?" Snake demanded as Raph held the container above the man's head.

"Playing a little game I like to call mutation roulette. Now you could turn out handsome and strong like me and my brothers. Or you might end up disgusting and deformed. So, you feel lucky?" The liquid was thick, and slowly fell over the man's face.

Leo had turned his head. They were torturing the man for information. While he loved his twin, Raph was more... aggressive in how he got what he wanted.

Just about when the mutagen was to touch Snake's face the guy caved."Okay, Okay! They call themselves the Kraang! They have been grabbing scientists from all over the city."

"That worked better than I thought," Leo said,

"Of course it did. Would you want to be ugly?" Raph said. "No shame to the hair." Leo loves his hair; it's another limb to him now.

"What do they want with scientists?" Leo questioned.

"I don't know." Raph held the canister threateningly. "All I know is they're taking them out of the city tonight, but I don't know where!"

"This is awesome! I never met another scientist before!" Donnie cheered. He loved his family he really did but sometimes they didn't keep up with his mind.

"You can trade minds after we save them, Dee," Lee said, "Where are they now, and you'll lead us."

After a short drive on the sewer sliders, the siblings gaze down a stronghold on the outskirts of the city. Mikey was on guard duty, and Leo's hair was indestructible it was still hair, so Snake could still slip out.

"There's gotta be like, 20 of them down there," Leo said, as counted the men guarding the building.

"And that's just the ones we can see," Donnie added

"Hell yeah!" Raph cheered as he got out his sai's. "An all-you-can-beat budget!"

"Raph, we can't charge in there. We need a plan." Leo stopped his twin before he could charge in.

"Leo's right nii-san, there's lives at stake here we need to think this out. If we screw this up we could cause all those captured people to die!"

"Then we won't screw it up," Raph said.

"Boy, I could sure go for some of that pizza right now, huh?" Mikey said, next to his brothers. His brothers stared at him before Leo felt his hair shift. Turning around he saw Snake making a run for it.

"He's running!来て!" The brothers run after the man going on foot. The siblings chased Snake down a fire escape before losing him. The turtles splint, Donnie and Mikey come to a wall.

"Maybe he went over the wall," Donnie suggested.

"I'm on it!" Donnie boosted Mikey over the wall, before flinching at his brother's screaming and crashes.

"MIKEY!"

"Ow, I don't think he went this way."

Back with the eldest. The twins were on the rooftops searching for Snake, spotting him from above. Leo stopped his brother from charging at him. The twin signed to his brother, who got the message quickly.

The two silently dropped down from the roof and made sure their steps were noticeable before Leo spoke.

"Oh, great. We let him get away."

"Dang, fearless guess that's your fault," Raph commented.

"ホントに? you're not helping." Leo replied, a deadpan look in his eyes.

"I'm not trying to help, " his twin admitted. Leo rolled his eyes. Raph always loved being the sarcastic twin.

"大丈夫, We'll go back home and gear up at midnight! We'll drive Snake's van right up to the gate they'll think we're him and we'll cruise right in." The eldest said loudly making sure Snake heard him.

"And then we bust some heads?" Raph asked.

"And then we'll bust some heads," Leo answered, the twins quickly got back on the roofs spying Snake running down the street.

Usagi was at a loss for words. This all seemed so unreal. He had been taken from his home into an unknown realm. He knew nothing of this world. Usagi was grateful to Hamato-san and his children for rescuing him and healing his injuries.

Everything just felt unreal. He was taken from his world into one he knew nothing about. Usagi sat on the engawa overlooking the forest. The sounds of the forest comforted him, bringing back memories of exploring the forest near his childhood home.

This ninja clan was different from any he had encountered. They looked like a traditional clan, practicing the ways of shinobi. The Hamato clan, however, held the values of samurai through honor and loyalty.

Doing so since their clan's founding, Doing so much good that the gods have rewarded the clan with magic. He didn't think he would find common ground with ninjas but this clan made him think differently. Then he heard something, it was something fast approaching. He could only hear it through the wind disturbance.

Then four figures sped out of a tunnel disappearing into the forest. It was Leonardo, with three other similar turtles. They were all riding strange horses but they did not look alive. Leonardo noticed him and called out, "Usagi-san! You're up!" The turtle quickly joined him on the Engawa the other following him. "How are your wounds?"

"All healed, thanks to you." Leonardo-san smiled at the praise before one of the other turtles coughed. Now that were close, their differences were easily noticeable. One had the darkest skin with many scars and wore a red mask and haori. The tallest wore purple, and the smallest wore orange.

"Oh, right. Usagi-san meet my brothers. Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo." Leonardo gestured to each turtle as he said.

"It is a pleasure to meet all of you, you have my many thanks for helping and healing me." Usagi thanked the brothers, and some smiled at his praise.

"Our father always said, that doing good is a reward in itself." Leonardo waved off his praise before guiding the group inside. The brothers scattered going to their activities, leaving just Leonardo and him.

The Turtle led him to the dojō, and while he and his brothers were out, they found out. The demons who had taken him from his home were called the Kraang, and they were planning something nefarious. What that is, they sadly have no idea.

Luckily the brothers had found a stronghold, each they were planning to sneak into to save a captured family. Leonardo explained all this to his father while Usagi listened in.

From what he learned the brothers were noble of heart, after all they had done for him. He knew he had to repay them. "I will accompany you for this quest."

"Are you sure Usagi-san?" Leonardo-san asked, but Usagi knew his answer.

"Yes, Leonardo-san you and your family have helped me in my time of need it is only fair I help you," Miyamoto said,

"Thank you, Usagi-san. Believe this plan will work."

"No plan ever survives contact with the enemy," Splinter said, walking up to them. "It is how you react to the unexpected that will determine if you all succeed."

"I agree, I have faced many enemies on my travels. During those battles, I had to change my strategy many times. The ability to think on one's feet and follow their instincts will guide the path to victory." Usagi explained that Leonardo smiled as the advice was amazing but still had doubts.

"Dad," Leo said, but in English, as though he trusted Usagi. He wanted his father's opinion on the matter. "Do you think, I'm ready for this? I mean, I love my brothers but... I'm not sure I'm ready to lead them."

"Leonardo, I made you leader for a reason," Splinter answered.

"What is that reason?"

"You must find that answer on your own."

"But there's so much riding on this," Leo answered, "The family, why robots kidnapped those scientists, and why they took Usagi."

Said Bunny, he had left the dojo when his father and son began speaking in a language he didn't understand, but he could read the room. This was a private matter between family, and he wasn't one to eavesdrop.

"Failure is a possibility every leader must face my Raito, it is something I had face to face in Japan during my final confrontation with my enemy the shredder," Splinter explained, the memories of that night began following back. "Years ago Oroku Saki, as Shredder had been called then had been my friend and brother. But the love of a woman came between us. He could not expect it and his jealousy turned outward in a vengeful attack. While he couldn't defeat me that day my world fell and crumbled around me. As the battle took the life of my beloved Tang Shen, and I lost my baby daughter Miwa."

Leo had heard this story with more and more details as he grew up, it was a tragic one but it helped him understand his father's grief. On the anniversary of that day, he and his brother gather around the shrine in the dojo with their father to pray for Tang Shen and their lost sister.

"But that's exactly my point Dad, you lost everything you loved," Leo said, the turtle hugged his father for some comfort.

"I have lost many things, my family, my home, my name." Splinter replayed before gazing at his eldest with love in his eyes. "But I gain many things as well, like the four of you. And with a blessing from the gods I have a wonderful eldest." He nuzzled Leo who giggled at his father's silliness.

"Thank you father, I think I'm ready to lead." The two shared another hug before being surprised when Mikey ran through the dojo screaming with a pot on his head while Raph chased him with a wooden spoon.

"GET BACK HERE!" The rat and the eldest turtle sighed at the situation before Leo got up and chased after the duo.

"Raph! Leave Mikey Alone!"

The turtles rode through the sewers on the sewer gliders, with Usagi riding with Leo. The rabbit was holding on tight While Usagi had ridden on horseback he had never gone this fast before. Leo snickered under his breath as from what he seen Usagi was the serious and quiet type. So seeing this reaction was kinda of funny.

As the turtles reached the outskirts of Kraang's base, they parked the sewer guilders in an alley. Usagi needed a moment to get his bearings from going so fast, so Leo checked on him, and Donnie and Raph rigged the van. With the distraction in place, the group sneaked around the guards and then began climbing the wall to the Shoko.

That plan worked as intended. With the guard focused on the van, they overlooked the team scaling the wall. Once they reached the top, they jumped onto the base's roof. Donnie detached a ven leading inside, and the grate dropped. Two drones just passed. But Usagi jumped down, quickly dispatching them with swift and strong swings of his katana.

The brothers jumped down after, they silently cringed at the sliced-up Kraang. They never knew that someday they'd end up killing someone in self-defense but a lesson was instilled in them very early in their training when they first got their weapons.

Usagi noticed their worried expressions and asked. "Is something the matter?"

The brothers looked at each other before Leo said, "It's not that we don't appreciate your skills Usagi-san... it's just we don't...reeeeally like the idea of killing our enemies like this. O-our father instilled a lesson in us, Run over evade, evaid over than fight, fight over than maim, maim over than kill, kill over be killed."

Usagi stared down the brothers, he knew the brothers were skilled but they didn't fight to kill, unlike the other ninjas he encountered. "It's a valuable lesson, your father is a wise man, but my hands are already stained with blood. Allow me to carry this burden."

The brothers share another look before just going along with it, they get out their weapons and venture deeper into the base. "I've never seen this metal before, their technology is more advanced than I've seen," Donnie said,

"So, you they have the advantage in weapons and numbers?" Usagi asked, and Donnie nodded. They continued into the base, soon they came across guards. Leo quickly closed the gap and cut the drones down, the Kraang inside scripted off.

"We found them!" The others caught up with him inside was the family. "Donnie, get the lock," Said the turtle opening a panel next to the cell and beginning to try and pick the lock.

Then lights flashed, and an alarm rang throughout the entire base. Usagi winced at the noise; it was loud but not unbearable. Kraang drones quickly swarmed them, firing at them. Donnie stayed to pick the lock while the other covered him.

Leo's long hair whipped around, grabbing Kraang's guns disarming them allowing Usagi to close in and get the kill. Usagi quickly grabbed Leo's hair and yanked out the line of fire of another droid.

Raph quickly stabbed the droid, and Mikey knocked another group of droids down with his nunchucks. While this fighting was happening Donnie was trying to pick the lock.

"Hey, not to rush you but HURRY UP!" The girl said,

"You try to pick a lock with these hands?" Donnie retorted lifting one of his three-fingered hands, not looking up from his work. "I'll get you out, don't worry."

"Thanks, giant lizard?" The girl thanked him.

"Turtle actually, Hamato Donatello." Donnie introduced himself.

"April," April did the same. Then the door on the other side of the cell opened just as Donnie got the door open.

"They got the family!" The fighters finished their fights and raced after the family Kraang on their feet every step of the way. They reached outside. Raph then shut the door but a Kraang droid tried to get by. But Usagi chopped its arm off before Raph used it to lock the doors by threading it through the handles.

Raph nodded his thanks to Usagi, "That'll hold 'em." The two then noticed the stares they were getting from the others.

"What is it?" Usagi asked,

"You guys... are violent." Donnie bluntly said.

"Thanks," Raph thanked, taking it as a compliment.

"NO! LET ME GO!" The group whipped to the source and saw the family being escorted to the roof.

"Quickly!" Usagi and the turtles tried to chase after the family but were stopped by something.

The figure was a tall plant-like monster with many vines as limbs with two having pincers. A praying manties-like head with a beating heart is seen at the base of its neck.

The beast screeched in anger at the group, before it spoke. "You did this to me! Now you're going to pay!" It spoke in a familiar voice.

"It's Snake!" Leo quickly put it together, but a realization hit him. Usagi couldn't understand English, while the bunny didn't know what this monster was speaking. It didn't matter the beast will fall by Willow's Branch blade.

Usagi charged at the beast swinging his katana into Snake. The blade sliced a clean cut into the monster, and Snake roared in pain. The others quickly joined in, Leo chopped off a vine, causing what was supposed to be blood to spray everywhere.

"EWW! EWW!" Mikey screamed, scouting away from the liquid. "Don't let it touch me! Don't let it touch me! AHH! IT TOUCHED ME!"

The vine, along with the other cuts inflicted by Usagi, was quickly healed. The Snake chuckled at his healing factor: "It grew back? NO FARE!" Donnie whined.

Then a helicopter was heard, Leo looked up to see the family being loaded into the copper. "Donnie! Go!" He ordered, Leo wrapped a lock around Donnie's waist. With confirmation from his brother, he launched him onto the roof, it was easy as Donnie was the lightest of the siblings despite being the tallest.

Snake swang every limb he had at the fighters, but Usagi was able to keep up slicing every limb that came his way. The brothers, however, had a rougher time keeping up.

Mikey tried to slice the vines with his kusarigama scythe but he was knocked away. Leo did the same but he was faring better, but a vine grabbed him by the neck and began to strangle him. Usagi was quick to save him, he sliced the vine holding Leonardo and quickly caught him.

Raph ran underneath Snake's legs dragging the Shoko, causing deep cuts on the inner of Snake's legs. Snake roared in pain before trying to swipe at Raph. But the turtle caught the vine, dragging Snake to the ground before axe-kicking him in the head. Raph flipped over the monster but Snake launched a long tongue from a pincer.

The tough wrapped around Raph's waist and threw him back. But a golden lock caught him before he hit the ground, and the teens regrouped.

"Snakeweed is pretty strong!" Mikey said, to the other's confusion.

"S...Snakeweed?" Usagi asked confusion across his face.

"Yeah, his name was Snake now he's weed so-"

"We get it," Raph cut off his brother,

"We just have to hold it off until Donnie gets back," Leo ordered as the group charged at Snakeweed. Then the Kraang busted through the breakage. "While not getting shot by robots."

"THAT ARE ALIENS!" Mikey yelled as his brothers rolled their eyes.

"We get it, aliens are real. Let it go." Raph said

With Donnie, he made it to the launch pad just as the helicopter was taking off. The turtle acted fast, he took out his Bo. With a running start used it a pole vault. Launching himself into the air, he caught onto the copter's launcher gear.

The Kraang inside noticed him, as a droid popped out of the door and aimed at Donnie with its blaster. "Oh, good. For a second there, I thought this was gonna be too easy!" The droid blasted at Donnie, who maneuvered under the copter as he did so he took a shuriken from his belt, in between his toes. Donnie then swung his upper body lodging the star into the droid's head, then yanked it out of the copter with his feet.

As the bot fell, it shot wildly at the copter nearly hitting Donnie. But the shots caused the copter to lose balance, which made April fall out. She barely caught onto the landing gear.

"Hold on! I'm coming!" Donnie said, but April still lost her grip. Donnie quickly dived for her, he landed on the landing pad before catching April and then performed a series of flips to slow his momentum. "You okay?"

April panted from the adrenaline before she looked up at the helicopter disappearing into the night. "Dad..."

"I'm sorry..." Donnie apolized, but he set April down and grabbed his Bō. "Come on let's get back to my brothers."

April nodded and followed Donnie they reached a lower part of the roof and they witnessed what was happening.

"What the" Donnie exclaimed. "That's incredibly stupid" Then he thought about it. "Or brilliant... or or Both!"

Back with the others, they were handling the fight well. Leo and Mikey fought the Kraang while Usagi and Raph dealt with Snakeweed.

The group jumped away as the Kraang fired their blasters. The lasers burning to Snakeweek angered him, in retaliation he lashed out a vine knocking everyone done.

"What's the plan again, chief?" Raph quipped.

"I'm working on it," Leo replied before Snakeweed grabbed him by his ankle. From his viewpoint, he saw power cables hooked up to a generator. "RAPH, MIKEY! Make the Kraang fire at Snakeweed while I and Usagi will get him near the generator!"

The three nodded and did as planned. While Raph and Mikey taunted the kraang, Usagi got Leo down. The rabbit sliced at Snake's legs carving a chunk out of Snake's Leg. He then retreated, near the generator.

Leo got behind Snakeweek and threw a handful of shrikins at the mutant's back. "Come and get me Stinkweed!" Leo taunted, he then swung his hair around the walkway above. Then swung around the mutant, taunting the Kraang.

The droids shot him, but they missed hitting Snakeweed and the generator. Shocking the mutant before blowing up. The teen quickly raced out of the base, then they got onto the sewer sliders disappearing into the city.

They dropped April off at her aunt's apartment April held her head to her knees. "Are gonna be alright?" Donnie asked.

"I guess," April answered, "My aunt says I can stay with her as long as I want. But I'll be a lot better after I track down the bastards that took my dad."

"What about the police," Leo asked.

"Funny thing, when you tell them that your dad was kidnapped by alien brains in robot bodies they don't take you all that seriously," April said, sarcastically.

"Where I have heard that," Mikey said, rolling his eyes.

"April, we'll all help you find your dad." Leo placed a hand on her shoulder for comfort.

"We will?" Raph asked but was elbowed by Donnie.

"Yes, we will."

"Thanks, but it's not your fight." April thanked them.

"Yes, it is," Donnie said, April smiled greatly at them. The brothers then jump down into the alley where Usagi is waiting patiently.

They mounted the sewer sliders and rode off.

As the group arrived back at the manor, Leo went into medic mode and checked everyone for injuries. As the brothers groaned, Leo was worrywart when it came to injuries. Ever since he got sick he poured tons of resources and time into creating a medicine for his family that worked.

"Are you sure, you're fine?" Leo asked for the millionth time, he scanned over Mikey for bruises.

"Yes, I'm fine bro. You got to stop being a worrywart."

"Okay just checking." Leo said before turning to Usagi."Usagi-san can I check you for injuries?" Usagi's ears perked at Leonardo's words.

"I'am fine, Leonardo-san. Heal your brothers, I can handle by injuries."

"It's a lost cause, Bugs Bunny. Leo our family helicopter mom. Fussing over any injury, and you're no exception." Raph explained, Leo worried about everyone's health. He tripled checked if, Raph's cuts were bandaged, if Mikey had taken his medication, if Donnie had gotten enough sleep and hadn't taken his 10TH CUP OF COFFEE, and if Splinter had drunk his tea yet.

Usagi didn't know the term helicopter mom, but seeing how Leonardo fussed over his brother's injuries no matter how small. He could make a pretty good guess at what it meant. The bunny met Leonardo's worried face and gave in. "Very well."

Leo smiled, thankful Usagi didn't fight him on this. Onyx eyes watched with curiosity as Leonardo quickly and efficiently checked him for injuries. After he was done, he ordered everyone to get some rest from the mission.

Leo knocked on the doorway to the Dojo, announcing his presence. His father was meditating before the shrine of Tang-Shen and Miwa.

"Father?"

"Yes, Leonardo?" Splinter replied, bringing his attention to his eldest son. The turtle knelt beside his father with a smile.

"I think I know why you made me leader."

Splinter raised an eyeridge, "Oh?"

"I'm able to think clearly in enemy territory, can think of a plan on the fly."

"You got most of it right, Leonardo," Splinter answered,

"What else?"

"I made you leader because you listen to your brothers. You are always there for them, willing to sit beside them and let them vent their frustration to you without fear of judgment. Your ability to listen, along with your desire to help a stranger, is why I made you leader." Splinter explained honestly. Leonardo's smile lit up the room, and his deep blue eyes gained the shine Splinter cherished.

"Thank you, papa." Leo hugged his father, who hugged his blessing back.

"Also because you asked."

"Wait what-"

"EVERBODY! COME HERE! WE MADE THE NEWS!" Both father and son winced at the youngest shout. The two joined the rest of the family in the living room, Mikey turned up the volume on the T.V. so everyone could hear.

"A report of get this, ninjas in New York. Don't believe me? After residents reported a car crash, the police recovered this." The T.V. shows one of their ninja's stars. With the Hamato symbol clear as day. "For channel six news, this is Carlos Chang O'Brien Gambe saying HI-YA!"

"This is gonna be awesome! We're gonna be famous!" Mikey cheered, Raph and Donnie smiling with him.

"You must be more careful." Splinter scolded, "A ninja's most powerful weapon is the shadows, being brought into the light is a dangerous thing."

"Relax, Dad. It's one little news story, it probably's not gonna get out of the city." Raph waved off his father's worry.

However in the heart of Tokyo, Japan. An old enemy was in his study watching over the very same news report. "Don't believe me? After residents reported a car crash, the police recovered this."

The screen replied to the story until the shuriken was displayed. Seeing the symbol on the weapon, the old evil spoke. "So, my old enemy is in New York and training his own army." He spoke with a deep anger that seeped into his very being. "At last I can finish what I started so long ago. Prepare my jet" He ordered to the soldier next to him.

The Shredder stood, placing on the Kuro Kabuto. "I'm, going to visit an old friend."
